If you are so regretful about what happened why exactly did your workers drive off with 300 lbs of our belongings still in your truck? Why exactly have we received 5 separate assurances from United that you would be delivering the remaining items as soon as possible? It has been over a month. My suspicion is that the items landed in a dumpster and I will have no recourse but to submit to insurance. You guys are real pros.

Évaluation du lieu : 1 Baltimore, MD
We had a terrible experience with this mover! My parents(ages 78 and 80) hired this company to do all of their packing and then move them from Sandpoint, ID to Baltimore, MD. Their packers blatantly stole a very large light fixture — antique Italian glass chandelier. Also several tableclothes that belonged to my great-great grandmother. The largest tablecloth was valued at $ 700 and the light fixture at $ 500. They are refusing to reimburse us for this loss nor even admit that it was their staff who committed this theft even though the evidence is overwhelming. They are using the excuse that the items are not on our packing list but my mother called them to specifically ask them to add them on our list — she had inadvertantly left them off when they did the initial estimate. They told her not to worry, that the estimate was ‘firm’ and she would not be charged extra for the additional items. On the day of the move, she specifically told the packers about these items and pointed them out. The packers said that they would have to repack the items for safety. My mother agreed. That was the last we saw of them. The light fixture is very large — how can it have just disappeard? Now they are using the excuse that they are not on the packing list! This is totally ridiculous. Plus we received items that were supposed to be delivered to another household. Altogether a terrible experience. It is not possible to ‘replace’ a tablecloth that goes back 100 years in my family, but I want Chipman Moving and Storage to take responsibility for what happened. The people who bought my parents’ house said that the packers — a couple — stopped by their house and told them that they had seen someone take the box with the chandelier to a car. This is a boldfaced LIE. I was there. There was no one taking things out of the house except THEM and they KNEW these items were not on the packing list so they just figured they could get away with it. We are devastated — some of those tablecloths had handmade lace sewn by the women in my family and handed down for generations. We finally had to give up — Chipman just stonewalled us and told us we’d have to go through ‘arbitration’. Don’t hire these people!!!
