Ate here with the family a number of years ago. You serve up, buffet-style, what is like freeze dried slices of beef and fresh vegetable into a bowl and then take it to the cook who stir frys it in a big wok right in front of you. It’s very delicious. 3⁄5 stars on staff politeness, 3⁄5 on cleanliness, 4⁄5 on food quality.

Have eaten here several times with the family, and really enjoy it! Staff are always friendly, and the food is GREAT. Good value for the price.

It’s not that Mongolian BBQ is such a bad place to eat, but compared to Hu Hot, it’s not really a great place either. It’s clean for the most part. The hostess and servers out front are usually friendly. The grill cooks however seem almost angry. They certainly don’t seem happy to be there. They also tend to water down the already limited sauces that are available when cooking your dish on the grill. They have a punch card. After 10 purchases at Mongolian BBQ, you get a free dinner. However, you don’t find out until you order that it’s only for the Kahn, even thought to obtain this complimentary dish, you have been paying the most expensive price for the all you can eat. Not a great deal concidering you’re paying all along for the most expensive dish. After 10 punches, you should get the most expensive dish. You don’t. You get the one time through, which would be okay if you were paying towards that the entire time. I would go to HuHot if I were you. Better food, better atmosphere, better prices!

I tried to give a 0 but it wouldn’t let me if I could give neg0 I would. Stopped by for dinner with my two kids and family needed some quick food and tried to do something other than fast food. Honestly I should’ve drove through Carl’s Jr. Anyway after reading several reviews most were bad or sketchy but my kids were starving so I just took a chance and hoped it would be ok. First of all it was somewhat clean and open area I thought ok this might be alright. Started loading mine and my daughters plate up and found a couple pieces of hair on the noodles I stopped and thought ok my kids are hungry if I leave it will be awhile until they eat so I picked the hair out and thought it’s going to be stir fried hopefully it’ll kill any bacteria that’s in the food and I moved on. Normally I would never EVER continue eating there but it was one of those hectic kid tantrum days and I didn’t want to deal with it. One of the hairs looked like it came from one of the Asian guys that worked there and the other one was like a pube or a beard hair so i crossed my fingers and just hoped it came off somebody’s face. We got the food cooked and the kids started to eat. I then told our waitress about my pleasant hair findings and the manager told her I could dump out my food and grab another bowl but the way it was said it sounded like he said we could have an extra bowl. Things were misunderstood I was expecting the ‘boss’ to at least walk over and apologize like any other responsible restaurant I then asked the waitress instead of the extra bowl if I could just get a bowl taken off my ticket because I was just turned off by the situation and barely ate my appetite vanished and she says ’ no ’ lol anyway, I didn’t really care because I knew I would never be back. The food was ridiculously overpriced, 11 $ for a medium and 14 for a large, and the quality of the food was horrible!!! The noodles were dry and nasty the bamboo was hard and chewy and the little I ate left a nasty taste in my mouth until I brushed my teeth. My mother got mild food poisoning(diarrhea and stomach pains) sorry TMI. 55 $for 3 adults and two kids for crap food. Our waitress said that this never happens and apologized and said it was weird … Hmm two hairs ‘different textures’ in two dishes I think most people just don’t observe very well I have a thing about that kind of stuff and I still can’t believe I actually just went ahead and continued to stay there I think my two year old interfered with my judgement lol. Gave the girl a tip because my daughter left a mess as any two year old. Ugh I’ll never EVERBEBACK! And I advise anyone to eat elsewhere… Big down

On Nov 5, 2015, one of the employees served a local sports team and decided that it would be OK to post a pic of the signed receipt on social media. Not worthy of my business when an employee thinks it’s OK to slander a customer and post pics of a signed receipt on the internet just because she wasn’t happy with her tip. She should consider herself lucky to have a job. If I was her boss, she would be suspended or better yet… fired! Will NEVER go there, and will spread the word so others don’t go there either… thank your employee!

This is the best Mongolian BBQ place that I have eaten at in Spokane. They have bowl size options, and several food options including my fav tofu, and cilantro. The people working there were very friendly and nice, even encouraging me to add more to my bowl since it shrinks once cooked.

Even though the décor is plain, the food is great and the workers have great respect and courtesy. The man who greeted us was really nice and kind. Price isn’t too expensive but this is a for sure place to try.

Here on a business trip. Everyone is really friendly and restaurant is kept clean. This is rated a 2 because their sauces failed to create a great meal. The meat and veggie bowl you’ve created you get to smother with sauces and flavors but unfortunately they are so watered down that the flavors don’t come through. My meal has very little flavor and I must have put 10 spoonfuls of a variety of things like garlic, Mongolian sauce, red wine etc. also too, he maybe cooked it for about 1 min. Vegetables are still pretty raw. Bummer I was looking forward to a hot fresh and yummy meal for lunch. May be better next time

No flavor to it. rice was still a bit hard. food is just horrible. the staff was very nice though and quick. My husband and I added a lot of sauce to it in order to ensure that we would get a nice taste and heat to our noodles and meat but then we were horribly disappointed to find out that our food was heavily watered down by the cook. We watched as he took our plates, poured them onto the cooking station, and filled our bowls back with water and dumped it on our plates. my food had not flavor to it, it was disgusting same went with my husband. I was so upset but still ended up paying for it, which I was not happy about at all. I should of let the waitress know but I was being nice that day I guess.

Don’t get scammed! The food is pretty good but know your pricing options. I came in a newbie and grabbed a big bowl and got my meal. At the table I now see the pricing; so I asked my server what’s the difference between«all you can eat»($ 9.95) and a Barbarian.($ 11.95); she said, with the Barbarian you can take it home. It’s the big bowl, which I had. So, even though I had one bowl and did not take ANYTHING home, they still dinged me for the Barbarian price. Just RIDIC!

Service was GREAT, people where VERY nice. However, bad Mongolian food. The noodles they use are not the ones that your are suppose to; they were hard and flavorless. I put all the sauces that they recommended and when I took the first bite. Nothing, tasteless. I added salt, soy, Sriracha, everything to make it taste better but it was pointless. The beef was tough witch I assume it has to do with the type of cut they use because it couldn’t have been overcooked(since is cooked for a min or so) My point of view is they need to use better noodles and beef; work on their sauces(ex: the garlic, use actual garlic not the sauce that they pickled the garlic with) and when is time to cook, cook it with a soy and water so it steams and ease the cooking and adds flavor.

Servers are so nice, timely and very hospitable. The food, horrible, every time I do the buffet, my vegetables are still raw and on occasion cold. The meat is cooked but not«browned» or «golden». The yakisoba noodles are raw and soggy. I swear, the flat top cook is never happyand it shows in his cooking. Sucks.

Really great surprise — I was in the mood for Mongolian but had super low expectations, especially with the huge space and boring décor. But this buffet had all the needed fresh vegies and a reasonable variety of frozen proteins. Decent price and plenty of seating(we got there before an evening work meeting, but it was getting more crowded by 6PM). Next time I am passing through Spokane I will visit again.

It’s just like every other Mongolian BBQ out there… or maybe a little less. Nothing special about it. The atmosphere is incredibly dull. It wasn’t warm and inviting like you want a restaurant to be. The food selection was average compared to other Mongolian BBQs. I will give the wait staff some props because they were on top of the service. But it was also very empty when we went in, so maybe they were bored? So if you’re craving Mongolian BBQ, and you need a quick fix, then this will do just fine. Just don’t expect anything special.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in Spokane and I have eaten here at lease a dozen times For those that are not aware of the concept the Mongolian Grill is a place where once seated you are invited to go get your food where you load whatever combination of meats, veggies and noodles that you want. They have about 25 sauces that you can drizzle over your food and then you stand in line where you present your bowl(s) to the cook and in about 2 – 3 minutes they stir fry the meal on a large(5′ diameter) frying surface The only negatives are if you have a food allergy cross contamination is more likely because of the cooking surface This is one of two Mongolian places in Spokane Valley. The other is Hu Hot and it is a bit more expensive but also is newer and has a nicer décor Both locations provide great food

I haven’t had Mongolian BBQ in a long time. We drove past and decided to try it. Very good selection of meats, veggies, a few fruits and noodles. 3 sizes of bowls plus an all you can eat bowl. Helpful staff. one person in our party is handicapped and the staff cheerfully helped him out. Very clean restaurant including the restrooms. Our cooked food was hot and tasty. I was pleased.

When a place calls themselves«The Original» anything, they are setting themselves up! Don’t you think? I mean to be Original you have to have invented something or be new with a concept or idea. In the Restaurant biz that means you started a phenomenon like«The Burger» or «The Sandwich» or «Elephant Ears» or «Chicago Deep Dish Pizza». I highly doubt they invented or were the first Mongolian BBQ in Spokane or even in Washington State or even North America. I asked the owner, why do you call yourself the original Mongolian BBQ but she politely skirted the issue and just smiled. The place is located in a strip mall and is clean well lighted and new(less than 6 months old — big clue there). There is a nice painting on the wall of a Mongolian Camp with yurts and horses. I honestly felt like Genghis Khan would jump off the wall. But wait that is the Original Genghis Khan not the Spokane version. Just teasing there. The food was not that good. Oh the ingredients were good, but the cook was hurried and sped through the process. My egg noodles were limp and none flavored, the plate was gritty and not well mixed. They also have this one pass thing, where you buy a bowl and that’s it. You can up size to All You Can Eat but to UPSIZE you must DOWNSIZE the bowl. Hence you really end up paying more and eating less. I know I’m confused. Overall — not a good place or representation of Mongolian BBQ and certainly NOTTHEORIGINALMONGOLIANBBQ. By the way = it doesn’t say Original on the sign outside, it’s only on the menu. It must have cost them extra on the signage so they skipped it.
