Nodland’s new tasting room downtown is super classy. I visited with my husband for a weekend afternoon wine tasting date and it was a lovely visit. Quite a few other couples were there chatting and enjoying the afternoon. Tastings are $ 5, but refundable with purchase of a bottle. The only issue for us during the visit was the fact that they are popular! They were pretty busy so it took a little while between pours, but the service was amazingly knowledgable and friendly. Nodland is obviously a winery owned by jazz lovers as they have frequent shows in their tasting room. They also obviously love their wine parings, as you can choose from cheese or chocolate pairings to add to your wine. It was a great experience overall and I’m thrilled they are now in the downtown Spokane wine scene!

We discovered Nodland through a Groupon, and the wines and staff impressed us so much with that visit that we signed up to become members of their wine club. The wines speak for themselves. They have one that can cater to almost anyone(perhaps not the fruity, sweet wine drinkers, but I don’t miss moscato. ever). I am generally a fan of reds, but I was taken with their dry Riesling, Bebop. I never thought I would publicly admit that I love a Riesling, but this one gets the honor. I am anxiously awaiting to see what the next Bad Attitude will be like, as the current selection is delicious. Most of all, though, I want to commend the staff. We were treated with respect and a great attitude. We’ve been visiting other local wineries, and I can’t help but notice that we are not always treated with the respect of some of the other patrons. I am not sure if they mistake us for younger than we are, or if it’s a local thing. But Nodland has always treated us like valued customers, and that gets a big thumbs up.

Great new location, very open with plenty of seating, music area is large. Quite a nice upgrade from the valley place. Nodland does have some great wines. although the tasting room prices by the glass are expensive($ 14 cab), you are better off to buy a bottle. Really nice staff. I’m looking forward to coming back soon!

I recently moved to Spokane and for a bday present my sister sent me a groupon for a wine tasting at this place. My bf and I decided to try it out yesterday. We really had no idea what to expect. Were we surprised or what! What an absolutely amazing, romantic experience we had. My coupon was good for wine AND chocolate tasting and this was just to die for. Every wine we tried we loved, as well as the accompanying chocolate. You get to sit down at a table and this makes it nice and personal :) Our server was such a sweetheart! It was such a calm place to be. Exactly what we needed. My only question now is, when can I get back there?!?

My friends and I have a yearly limo bonding time touring our local wineries and tasting the wines that are their specialty. We found Nodlund Cellars to be completely charming in the way they do business and in their location filled with art, subdued lighting, and tables that give it an ambiance like no other. And their wine… made by the owner who is on site every time I go in, is the best I have ever had. We had a great time with lots of laughs and a promise to return next year. You won’t be sorry for checking them out and trying their very special wines. Worth the trip!

What can be said that wasn’t said in the previous review? Not much. This is a great winery run by artists. Worth the drive over there.

Most European Wineries produce just one red and one white. Nodland Cellars follows that tradition by featuring just one red, simply entitled the Nodland Cellar’s Private Blend. This unique variety contains large percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet France and very small amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. The fruit comes from prestigious vineyards in Walla Walla, Red Mountain, Yakima and other parts of the Columbia Valley and are gathered all together for this one hit wonder. The wine making process is traditional as well with every step of the process being done by hand. Nodland Cellars views wine is liquid art and creating the blend of these grapes like music, where each individual variety must play off the other with producing a finished composition you can taste. This comes as no surprise as owners and wine makers Tom & Tracy Nodland began making wine in 1999 as artists. Tracy paints with oils and Tim is a jazz musician. Tim can’t paint and Tracy can’t sing a note but wine making was art where they could produce together. After awards and recognition for their combined masterpieces, the Nodland’s took the step to share their collaboration in 2005 by going commercial. The Nodland winery is more like an artist’s studio where grapes are turned into drinkable art and the editions are very limited. About the label: The artist that created the jazz band label is Tim Rogerson from Florida. He created this work specifically for Nodland Cellars.
