This has officially become our preferred branch of the library. They moved the Children’s section to the first floor which made my life SO much easier!(Prayers do get answered on occasion) Currently the library is hosting the Children’s Science Center upstairs until construction on their new space is complete. I think this is so cool! Everyone we’ve ever encountered here is friendly, kind and helpful… both staff and patrons. We love you Spokane Public Library. Thanks so much for serving us.

The library itself is not bad — lots of homeless hang out there, and we didn’t get a library card when we went, and for some reason no one will give us one but when showing ID you can still check out books??? Weird. Anyway my main complaint is that they don’t take credit/debit in the parking garage! It is not clearly marked outside that this is the case, so when I went in for 4 minutes to drop off a book, I was charged .75 cents and the attendant was belligerent that I didn’t have cash. I had some change, not much, which he took, and bellyached about having to pay the rest of it out of his own pocket. WELLTAKECARDSTHEN!!! No one carries around change anymore. Plus I was only in there for 4 minutes, holy cow. Anyway, my experiences here have been ‘ok’… they don’t have a large section for spiritual-metaphysical(like astral projection, afterlife, psychic abilities, etc) so it wasn’t really that exciting.

Convenient for dropoff and pickup of items you’ve reserved. Nice looking interior, but full of homeless — the tang of urine abounds on the second floor. Great views of the river from the second floor, but see about re: atmosphere
