Our perfect little hometown breakfast taco spot. We go here every weekend and it’s always good. I usually get the huevos rancheros. Their beans are salty and flavorful and their ranchero salsa is surprisingly spicy, but it works with the eggs. The family that owns it is always friendly and welcoming. Great tea, and they’re not stingy with it. Fresh homemade tortillas.

We eat here all the time. The problem is it is so quiet you can hear nothing but the ceiling fans. I actually avoid going because they never play music. One song on the juke box plays a demo every 20 minutes. It’s torture. Food is good for the price. — dear Mague’s manager– please please put on the radio if anything!

More like a 3.5 star rating. This was our first visit here and I pass by at least 3 times a week. The bathrooms were clean, the food was fresh, service was prompt, and the staff was polite and friendly. Chips were light and crispy, salsa was a little spicy, but that’s just a personal preference. I was a little surprised that the flavor of the enchilada sauce tasted like it was made from real ancho chiles – without the texture – but had minimal spices. Chalupas were good, the shell held up to the toppings; I would definitely order those again. The rice was fresh. Tortillas were a little tough. But all in all, not bad food for the price.

The tacos are amazing the only thing wrong is the servers. We get it, your family owns the place and people come no matter how rude you are but PLEASE just be nice to the people that are paying your bills. You are rude to the teenage customers because you expect them not to tip but they will if you are just nice. Come on magues, just be nice!

My brother eats here all the time. I came with him and breakfast during week was GREAT. Today(Saturday) was disappointing especially with my wife along.

Strange atmosphere. They put you in a sort of bonus room with the wall blown out and really bad lighting. The food was okay. It just creeps you out sitting next to license plates in a dark room next to an unused door.

One word… DISAPPOINTING. I wish I could say just ONE good thing about this«restaurant». The waitress was complacent, the wait time was long… and the food sucked! Atmosphere? Like a «Southside» dive. Don’t waste your time on this gastric assault!

This is one of those places where you need to know exactly what to order. Overall, the food Looks subpar, but we’ve only tried the ground beef and fajita nachos — both of which are very good. Stick with the nachos, avoid the queso and you will be fine.

Today was our first visit to Mague’s in Bulverde(pronounced MAH-guess) and after reading the reviews, I thought we may have made a mistake. We sat ourselves and were immediately approached by a nice waitress. She returned with our beverage order in less than 2 minutes. After ordering food, two other employees stopped by the table to fill coffee and check on us. My wife and I both ordered chilaquiles. My comment is that knowing what’s in a dish does not necessarily mean you can make it. Mague’s version is pedestrian, with more tortilla chips than egg and too much salsa, which made it watery. Taste was marginal. Our daughters’ pancakes and sausage was very good, however. So, my final rating is for exceptional service, common atmosphere, typical cost, and mediocre food(limited experience.) Two stars, with possibility of improvement. We’ll try again, as well as the Boerne location.

Short on taste, very short on service. Getting chips before the meal was served was about as easy as a root canal. Salsa out of a bottle. Nachos were served with about ½ beans as expected, and we were told that was the way they served them. Not«let me fix that for you». Funny thing is that there is another Mex restaurant next door, which is pretty good. Thought we would try Mague’s. Won’t make that mistake again

I’ve been to Mague’s at least 30 times in the last couple of years and I have NEVER had a single bad experience. The service has always been great and the food is always excellent. I always take my out of town guests there for breakfast and/or dinner and they also find the place charming with a delicious menu. If anyone has had a bad experience then their is just no pleasing them.

Nothing like walking in, almost being run over by a waitress, and then getting to sit and be ignored for 10 minutes. … this was one more chance after having lousy service and filthy bathrooms on a prior trip… We walked out.

it’s about time mague’s opens up another location! I felt like I was sitting back home in boerne due to the décor and friendliness of everyone. this new location is a lot larger than the boerne location, more spread out which I liked, and very clean! congrats magues on growing! :) can’t wait to see the renovations taking place at the boerne location!
