Indian Path Books

Excellent used bookstore… good clean stock, reasonably priced… helpful owners… Indian Path has the kind of books that Baldwin ’ s Book Barn used to carry… large stock of hard back science fiction volumes… you have to look but you can find some treasures!

Located near Coventry, PA and inside the farming country of Chester County, this little establishment has been around for quite a few years. It’s the perfect way to pass a lazy afternoon. Indian Path is packed with quality hardbound and paperback books from a variety of subjects. There’s plenty of room and a staff always helpful. I’ve found a number of the books reviewed here.
Recently I had the opportunity to visit Indian Trial and pick up three very good paperbacks: I-Spy#2 :Masterstroke, Rogue Angel: The Chosen, and Assignment Afghan Dragon by Edward Aarons. They’ve also added a «Vintage Paperback» shelf which was stocked with reprints of The Shadow, The Saint, and even a Mickey Spillane. The other genre sections are filled with a good selection.
The shelves can be a bit of a challenge to maneuver around. Indian Path makes use of all of its space to stock books. You won’t find piles of books anywhere except near the cash register where the owner is checking in the new acquisitions.
I’d call it a low profile bookstore. There are several other stores near it, but Indian Path is the prime interest for me. You can always tell when they’re open from the flag flying out facing the road. There’s a small parking area out front for a few cars, but I’ve never had problems finding a place to park.

I wish they were larger, because they have some fine books in all categories.
I have also bought some used CD’s here, too.
Since I enjoy hunting for rare books on many different topics (some are rare because they have been out of print for years, others because of their limited editions) I could spend hours in here.
Nice, helpful owners that also buy used books.

This is a nice used book store run by a husband and wife and their dog. It has a surprisingly large selection (the storefront is deceptively narrow) covering most subjects. Over time, Indian Path Books has grown its collection of media (CDs, etc.). Prices are pretty good: It depends on what exactly you’re buying, of course, but I think their prices run a little lower than other used book stores in the area.
