Nice course for the money. Beautiful scenery and some challenging holes. Overall greens not in great shape but very early in season so didn’t expect to be pristine.

This review is on the service not the food, because the food was excellent. Came here to eat before a wedding reception. You would think that when a place is expecting 100+ people that night they would staff up a little better other then one rude bartender who took forever to get drinks and one waitress who was running around who was also not friendly at all and almost non existent to try to order anything.

This golf course is nothing more than a glorified par 3 course. Don’t let the yardage totals fool you. You can knock at least 500 off those totals. At least half of the par 4s on this course are driveable. There is a 390 yard par 5 that we hit 5 iron 8 iron into. The greens are extremely fast and don’t run true. The sand traps were in terrible shape. Two of the guys in my crew had range finders. We measured one par 4 at 255 but it said 375 on the tee plaque no joke. The second hole is straight up hill, my drive ended up 20 yards in front of the green with a 3 wood and the tee plaque read 365. I will say the prices are reasonable and the grass is in decent shape but for experienced golfers this place is no fun at all. The layout had no character there are two par 3s back to back which are exactly the same hole and 2 short par 4s back to back on the back nine which are identical also.

Review of the dining establishment: I wish I could give this place 5 stars, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The property is beautiful and well maintained, the building is gorgeous, rustic and comfy, the staff are attentive and professional. However, the food is hit or miss. Some items are good, but some are so so, almost like they are trying to save money by serving left overs. We ordered the French dip, and the beef was dry and over cooked, like it was sitting under a heat lamp for too long. I really like this place, I just wish they would do a better job with the food. Like I said, some items are excellent, but overall, the food is 2 stars.

Review is for The Grille only. Worst food I have ever had. You’d think a golf course would serve a decent Arnold Palmer, but both the iced tea and the lemonade were made from cheap gross powdered mixes, and the result was almost toxic. Disgusting. Told the waitress. She giggled. Thanks. With my confidence suitably lowered, I tried to order something they couldn’t possibly screw up. The grilled chicken sandwich was not a grilled chicken breast, but a handful of previously frozen chicken breast strips. Awful. Accompanied with crappy frozen fries. Epic fail. I will never, ever be back.

Good food(almost excellent but not quite and a notch on the pricey side) and friendly staff. Even if you don’t play golf, which I do not, this is a nice restaurant to dine at. Beautiful view, outdoor seating, and that fried cheesecake thing. omg… that thing was… omg… yeah, go just for that alone. Seriously, if the food was just a tiny bit better or not quite so pricey it would be 4 stars.

This is a seasonal review… We played in February! The pro shop at SHGC is a welcoming, albeit small room with a modest selection of equipment and gear. Most of the clothing offerings have the course name on them, which is nice for those seeking souvenirs, but can be limiting for golfers seeking manufacturer branded merch(such as Titleist, Calloway, etc.). The gentlemen at the counter greeted us with a smile and even hooked us up with free hot chocolate(after my request for coffee was denied). He was very helpful and we were even happier when we were told that it would only be $ 27 to hammer out 18 with a cart. Nice! For February, the course was in terrific shape. The tee boxes were lush, as were the fairways and rough. The sand appeared to be rock solid, but upon playing out of it, it actually gave way pretty nicely. There was even a bit of snow in some of the bunkers, which is quite an oddity when you think about it. We were half hoping we had the chance to play out of a snow mound, but fortunately(or unfortunately) that never happened… «Throw me the Snow Wedge, Merle!» Arghhhh. Anyway, the only thing we had modest issues with were the greens. Some of them were a wee bit rough in small areas, but again, it’s the middle of winter, so the fact that you could even hold a true putt is quite remarkable. We just can’t sugar coat this entire review… Haha. Go here to continue reading:

My daughter and her now husband just had a wonderful wedding on Saturday at Spring Hollow. We loved everything about it! Stephanie was a joy to work with and so helpful. She was patient, willing and interested in our affair. Dennis did an awesome job as bartender by both being so personable with our guests as well as excellent at making the drinks! Our group kept him very busy. Stephanie had everything ready for us and remembered all our little requests. We had both the ceremony and reception at Spring Hollow and could not be more pleased. The ceremony site was beautiful and the reception and cocktail hour was superb. Guests all commented on how wonderful the food was and how perfectly the whole event went. Thank you Spring Hollow and more specifically Stephanie and Dennis! We would definitely recommend Spring Hollow as a wedding site for future brides.

Nice atmosphere and an interesting classical/jazz guitarist couldn’t save some pitifully slow service and substandard food prep. Tilapia drenched in butter was fishy, linguine with shrimp was heavy and both were overpriced. Kids got sandwiches and that was a wise decision. As a sandwich bistro in a pleasant setting with a great bar and a decent beer list, the place is almost four star. As anything else it is barely three.

Golf course is very nice. If weather has been dry for awhile, then course does get«poor». But when watered it is very nice. Restaurant is fantastic. Great food and very nice atmosphere.

The have done a lot of work to the restaurant, bar and Hall. Outside the restaurant is meticulously landscaped. Really nice outdoor seating area. I went with my kids the other day and we really had a good time. We spent about a half hour on the pracitice green before we went to eat. My kids are young too(6 and 8). We all had a really good evening out there.
I also golf here a few times a year. Golf is best in spring and fall or after a lot of rain(like most places). If its been dry for a long time the fairways are a little ratty. This place has a kids menu making it more kid friendly then other places. Service could be a little better but was not awful this time around. Food was great, beer was cold and I am going back for sure. Kudos to the staff at Spring Hollow.

I’ll review the golf portion, I golfed there quite a few times last year, and plan to many more this year. The course is a not very long, but is hilly, challenging and fun, and it is ALWAYS in great shape. It’s a course I plan to play often again this year, because its worth the money and always a fun experience. The employees are always pleasant, its easy to get a tee time, and for 50 dollars on a weekend morning, its hard to find a better way to spend 50 dollars on a round of golf. It’s easily one of my favorite courses in the area.

This is a review of the restaurant, although I have golfed here. My wife and I went on a Wednesday night around six. Many cars in the lot but we found out they were mostly for golfers as we entered the«Grille Room» it was not crowded. The interior of the dining/bar area is very impressive. A nice picture on their website. We ended up sitting outside on the covered deck with a great view of the course and watched golfers sail balls into the pond! We had the whole area to ourselves. There were even robins feeding their chicks in a nest up in the rafters! My wife had the Chicken Quesedilla and I had the Fish’n Chips along with a spinach dip appetizer. The food was very good. No complaints about the service either.
