Wensel’s Auto Care

This review pertains only to their towing service. One of my drivers got stuck in Spring City and needed to be winched out. We called Wensel’s. They quickly went out and rescued the driver. It took about 60 – 90 minutes. Charge? $ 500.00. They charge $ 250 per hour and a two hour minimum. I’ve been in business for over 6 years in the area and sadly have had other truck winched out before. The charge has been between $ 75 and $ 200 total. When I was told the price, I simply asked why I wasn’t told the charge beforehand, he said he forgot. Of course, if he ever says that price, anybody would call anywhere else. Anyway, I asked to speak with Jon Wensel, the owner. He quickly got very rude and belligerent, basically calling me a liar. I couldn’t believe it. He also threatened to call the police and hold the truck until payment was made. Of course, I paid up because I always pay my debts, but this was out and out robbery. If you are going to charge $ 250 an hour and a two hour minimum, any customer should be told that upfront. That’s good, honest business. But that is not what happened in this case with Wensel’s. BEWARE.

These guys are great! They diagnosed a problem that the dealer could not. They even took the time to show me what the issue was and the options I had. Jeff, the service advisor I dealt with, is great at what he does. I highly recommend them for any auto issues or maintenance.
