We are here for our anniversary dinner. The reviews were mixed but we thought we would give it a try. Stay away as you are bound to be disappointed! To begin with we were given the specials which were the same prices as the original prices. When asked what was special we were told they only have those items on special days. We both ordered prime rib which was served cold. A potato or one side was included, but if you wanted mushrooms and onions add $ 3.25. No soup or salad unless you want to include a very low grade salad bar at $ 2.99 per person.

First time posting on Unilocal but had to say something about my terrible experience. After a knight discovering the wonders of nature found throughout Wisconsin, I was ready to tear through some prime rib. Unfortunately, I never got the chance. After being told there was a wait to get a table of 2, we enjoyed a delicious Manhattan at the bar. Was truly a good drink and the highlight of an otherwise bad knight. When we were able to sit I was bemused as to the wait as there was hardly anyone there. For the next 30 mins, my date and I, sat uncomfortably waiting to be served. About 5 servers made their way helping other tables and singing happy birthday to patrons without even batting an eyelash our way. With that we got up to leave and when we let the hostess know the situation, she was as cold as the stone King Arthur pulled his sword out of. Last knight, Arthur’s showed me that chivalry is truly dead.

Look, I don’t mean to be hateful, but the fact is, this place is still named«Arthur’s Supper Club» for precisely the same reasons that the food currently served(ugh!!! — I hesitate to even call it food) is inedible. True, this wasn’t always the case. But the last time this place served a palatable meal was *at least* 10 years ago, and that’s considering one hell of a nostalgia factor. Yeah. Before that, when I was a kid, only the adults got to go to Arthur’s on special occasions. «Kid’s table» was a frozen pizza or leftovers, all eaten from home, supervised by an older sibling or cousin. No kidding. So…this place is the terribles. Really. Food? Service? Ambiance? Meh. Eh.?. Anything?(No, really, when you’re pissed off during or after your visit: you were warned.) It appears to me, as a bystander, that(honestly and earnestly) Arthur’s and the Round Barn are conducting a neck and neck race to oblivion, which is a shame for the area.

I am not sure why the reviews are so bad here — I give honest reviews and this place blew me away. As a traveler, you are at times overwhelmed as to where you should go eat. This was a recommendation from our hotel. She wasn’t sure but we had already gone to the other place she suggested. We ordered the chicken park, the petite prime and a children’s chicken tenders for our son. I am currently expecting and had to ask for my petite prime well done. When it came I thought, I can not eat all of this meat! THISWASTHEBESTSTEAK I HAVEEVEREATTEN! It was not only cooked perfectly well, it was not burned(as most are when you ask for them well done), but it was juicy and amazing. Suffice it to say, I ate all of it and could have had more! My husband’s chicken parm was gone and so was my sons food. I finished it with a slice of Ultimate Chocolate cake, which was nice after a long day.

After reading the plethora of negative reviews for this place, I had to do some internet research to make sure this was the same restaurant we experienced yesterday. Granted, we just ordered from the Drive-Thru, but we both thought our Prime Rib Sandwiches were the best Drive –thru meals we’ve ever had. Thick, juicy slabs of tender Prime Rib on a toasted Ciabatta Roll, Krinkle-Cut Fries were perfectly crisp outside, yet fluffy inside. They even came with a cup of Au Jus, a cup of 1,000 Island like dipping sauce and a Pickle. All of this was $ 6.99! Even the Soft Serve Shake I had was Thick, Rich and very chocolaty! I’ve never been in the restaurant, but this meal was definitely worth 5 stars!

A friend and I had breakfast at their Round Barn then brunch with the family at Arthur’s. Neither were good and the«orange juice» was orange and liquid but not from nature. After the breakfast I complained about the orange colored beverage. The same orange stuff was presented at brunch. All the breakfast food rated a D+ Not long ago we were passing and decided to try dinner. The deep fried Walleye was pretty good, at the salad buffet the bowls were warm and the iceberg lettuce was about 5% green leaf the rest was yellow. The steaks were not properly cooked to order, my rare-medium rare order came medium well, and were mealy. That’s the only word I can think to use to describe both surfaces of all of the steaks. Need I say the steaks didn’t taste good and we saw no point in complaining. There’s a lot to look at in this place which explains the«panem et circuses», the eyes fool all other senses. Zero stars are earned here but one must be given.

First, let me preface this with the fact that we have eaten at Arthur’s for around 15 years when we travel to Spring Green. We have witnessed the transformation of the interior the last few years and many of the upgrades(some we like, some are not so good). However, we have gone every year. This year, I called an made our reservations and looked forward to the buffet, which is what I usually get. On arrival, I sat down and noticed the menu had changed(again). The prices have gone up a number of times the past few years, and this year, I wasn’t happy with what I saw! Now there are ‘up charges’ all over the place!!! For instance the buffet is only a true buffet for everything EXCEPT the prime rib. WHAT??? There have been many times when I have gotten a less than stellar piece and then gone back after eating it to get a better piece(non end or the cuts were very thin). Now, you only get ONE trip to the prime rib station and then have to pay extra to make it all you can eat. They would have done better making the prime rib an option(if you want it or not). Still $ 25 for a buffet where you only get one trip to the main protein is a bit odd!!! So instead, I ordered the Walleye(which was ok) but then I ordered the bake potato as the side, the waitress then asked if I wanted a loaded backed potato? After finding out about the buffet, I asked if there was an extra charge(jokingly, as there never had been before) and was told YES. I then asked what the difference was and was informed that it had bacon and cheese which cost $ 1.00 extra. Since the salad bar was included, I just got bacon and cheese from it and put it on my potato(I still can’t figure this one out). My wife ordered the Filet and the fried potatoes and asked for onions with it($.50 up charge for the onions). She asked for her stake to be served Medium. When it arrived, it still had a personality! It was seared on the outside, but was still cold(VERYRARE) on the inside. I even took a picture as it was bright red! Somehow, drink refills are still free and unlimited(I checked as everything else had a extra price). Oh, just got my ‘Birthday Dinner’ email from them. now it is limited to $ 20’s where it used to be for a meal. Not a lot of items under $ 20 on the menu anymore, and $ 10 short of the ‘Full Buffet’ price. After close to 20 years of going there… I think when we go back to Spring Green in September, it will be the first time we skip Arthur’s.

We spent the night in this town and noticed the huge electronic Breakfast sign. Long drive back required a decent breakfast. I already love supper clubs, and was so grateful to have breakfast. The décor is beautiful, fountains everywhere, including the bathroom. That could have been Frank Lloyd Wright inspired, and they have tributes to him, and his WI ties, here. I got the egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit, I added my side of bacon to it. I thought 1.99 was a typo. This is delicious and big. I had a bite of my husband’s pancake. It’s the size of the 49er at OPH. It tasted homemade, and I loved it. He offered me a bite of the steak and egg biscuit. Steaks served for breakfast are never good enough. This was so tender and charred perfectly. Our server, Ivy was great, and she even brought out someone to help us with exact directions. This answered this city woman’s question, why would people live out here?
