I and some friends booked a night here when visiting the area. The inn is very nice. Clean, quiet. There are no TV’s in the rooms, so you don’t have a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. It’s tucked away in the woods. It was delightful to sit outside at night and watch the fire flies light up the tree line and all the stars in the sky. The breakfast was a delicious French toast with lots of fresh berries! We really enjoyed our stay!

Great hospitality from Jean and her family. Good meals, spotless and comfortable rooms, fair price and amazing setting combine to make this a perfect weekend getaway. I stayed here with my partner for a weekend and enjoyed a play at the nearby American Players Theater as well as an Estate Tour at Taliesin. Both are nearby and well worth a visit, and Silver Star is the place to stay — just a short trip to both as well as to Spring Green, Dodgeville and Mineral Point. Jean has great suggestions for local restaurants too, and gives accurate, easy-to-follow directions. I really enjoyed the wraparound porch — more hummingbirds than I’ve ever seen in one place at the same time. We’re glad we picked this as a place to stay.

We come here every year. The rooms are beautiful and have that country feel. We’ve been to many B&Bs and this is by far the best one we’ve stayed at and it keeps us coming back. There’s a nice deck in the back to view the stars in the country sky. There are nature trails that extend back further into the property. Home-made breakfast in the morning. Lastly, the price is right.
