My initial impression was good because the woman up front is very kind and thoroughly explained the price and process of what they would do to fix my computer. I called a few days later to see how it was going and was shocked at how rude the employee was to me on the phone. All I wanted to know was a timeline as to when it might be done and what ended up being wrong with it(did it have a virus, etc.?). Apparently he misunderstood what I was asking and got very defensive about the fact that they don’t notify customers with the diagnosis(unless it is a hardware problem) and they go ahead and reformat. I was trying to tell him that was fine and I understood and I just wanted to know what was wrong with it(in the past places have even told me the source of the virus so i could avoid it). He was hostile, rude, demeaning and spoke over me instead of listening. HOWEVER, they did actually fix my computer and that same woman who was so kind already knew about the phone problem before I came in. She was ready with an apology and tried to explain what the guy on the phone was saying. I told her I understood that I just want to know what was wrong with my computer(what did I pay for you to fix). She said, «Oh, it did have a virus…» That’s all I wanted to know. She assured me steps were being taken to make sure the employees spoke to customers in an appropriate manner.

I wish I had read the previous review before I brought my workstation computer here. The problem was a relatively minor one, but it was out of my capability to recover. Instead of going to my regular tech, I thought I would give the hometown bunch a chance. My mistake. I called in to see if they could help, and the person with whom I spoke said they would put it up on the bench and go over the problems with me. When I got there some 20 minutes later, I was told that was incorrect and they would put me «in line.» I didn’t ask to jump the line when I called. I was reassured they would go over the problem with me present. Didn’t happen. I reluctantly left the comp in their care. The following day I view my offsite monitoring and could SEE they had my comp hooked up, but still no word back from them. When I went back to the store to see what they had found, the first thing I was asked was, «Did you back up your computer?» Not engendering much good will or trust there at all. So, I paid for them to «check the hardware» but they hadn’t done anything else to the system and wanted to talk to me first. I got a bad vibe from the whole business and asked for my comp to be returned. Now that I have hooked up the comp at home, their idea of «fixing» the problem seems to have been to attempt to install Windows updates, and now my system won’t boot. Magnificent. I brought in a system that would at least boot, and get one back that is hung up in an update cycle. They merely compounded the problem. Never again. Never recommended.
