Junk. gave them another try and I regret it. Wasted $ 65.00 on «Cajun» queso, a thawed out ribeye and a catfish poboy. The queso itself was ok after we had them bring us a second order of chips, without the massive amount of season salt. The ribeye was over cooked and like the chips, extremely salty. The 1⁄3 of the steak that was edible(and I use the word sparingly) tasted freshly THAWED out… The catfish poboy wasn’t half bad, with exception to the portion of catfish. The poboy was served as a massive bun with a fish nugget covered in their Cajun mayo or «remoulade». it is painfully obvious the management has no clue of what Cajun food is, how to hire a proper kitchen staff, or how to run a restaurant. For a «chef» to use that amount of salt on a steak, or anything for that matter, is ridiculous. The portions and quality were very weak. The«manager» hung out up front seating and uncomfortably staring at his patrons when he should have been in the kitchen managing the pass and his kitchen staff.

Eh… thought we would try this place out and sorta regretted it. Our server was nice, though she seemed just exhausted. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and an oyster po’ boy and steak po’ boy for our entrée. We got fried green beans delivered to us. Meh. I explained to our server that we had ordered fried pickles. She let us keep them. Our pickles then came out about thirty seconds before our meal did. She apologized and comped our appetizer. Great, I appreciated that, She did a good job. The oyster po’ boy was very small and certainly not worth the $ 12 or so it cost. I could hardly tell there was oyster in due to the copious amount of breading. The steak po’ boy was small as well and seems like it was about $ 4 worth of steak, and $ 7 worth of fries. The taste was mediocre, at best. All in all, we were terribly underwhelmed by this place and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. I’ve had good, real New Orleans Cajun food and, suffice it to say, Meo Mio’s food is a far cry from authentic.

My wife and I enjoyed our meal here. The server was funny and the food was good. It was a fun family atmosphere. We will be back for another round soon. My only negative are the seats by the front windows, parents waiting for kids park and don’t turn off the truck/car lights making for a blinding experience. Next time we will make sure we request a table so this is not an issue.

The crab legs and boiled shrimp were cooked perfect. Cajun catfish and red potatoes were really good. Corn on the cob was severely overlooked. My husband said the red beans and rice were good too. The cole slaw was left off of my basket. Our waitress was pretty awful. Very slow and tried to make up for her short coming by being overly friendly. She forgot our appetizer, but did give us a free dessert.

Such a wonderful place to eat. Outdoor patio setting as well as indoor bar and seats. The staff are all so welcoming and accommodating! The food is fabulous! Coming from the ocean all my life, the seafood is fresh and real! These are by far the best crabcakes ever! They have seafood buckets reasonable in price and enough to feed an army! Their buffalo shrimp bites are off the hook. I come here at often bringing my family of 7 and we never leave hungry. My kids beg to come back. The pricing is reasonable for the portions as well as the freshness of the food! You must try this local family owned business!

One of the best restaurants in Spring Hill! Privately owned and not another horrible corporate chain. Good seafood, the Buffalo Cajun Shrimp are amazing and I am not a big shrimp fan. The buckets are a great deal, especially when you compare them to Joe’s Crab Shack. Sitting outside is great and the interior is nicely decorated as well. The fact that this place has 2.5 stars is an indictment of the intelligence(or lack of) of the reviewers who rated this gem low. Those of you who think this is «too expensive», perhaps you should still to Waffle House or Little Ceaser’s $ 5 pizzas.

In short, I enjoyed the jambalaya. The beef sauté was ordered medium, and came out well-done; no hint of pink. The mushroom swiss burger was good, though, and done exactly as ordered. The strangest part of the experience was the strong county music theme playing in the restaurant. Wait, Bön Jovi just came on. While I’m sure people in New Orleans listen to music such as this, it would probably be a good idea to play some Zydeco music or other such traditional regional music. The manager listened attentively to the issues and seemed to genuinely be interested in resolving them going forward.

I’ve eaten here twice the first time we got the alligator tail appetizer and my kids completely devoured it. I got the filet with a baked potato and a house salad and it was PERFECTION! Last Wednesday we are there with a few friends and I got the crab cake meal with a baked potato and a salad with a frozen strawberry margarita and all around the BEST meal I’ve had in Spring Hill yet. I’m not sure where the bad reviews are coming from, A+ both meals.

Not real cajun food. Not much spice ore flavor. We had a mulfetta and boudin. Everything was just so so. Good atmosphere but I wished the food lived up to it.

With so many previous bad reviews, this place either went through a massive change or got its act together. Our meal tonight was spectacular! The crab legs and shrimp were cooked to perfection. It was obvious that all the seafood was fresh. I really hope people give this place a second chance and it remains open in Spring Hill. 4 thumbs up from these folks :)

I am quite sad to say I must side with other reviews. This local place simply is not good. Our appetizer of crawfish tails looked and tasted exactly like it came out of a frozen sea-pack type offering. The spicy sauce with it was terribly bland. My wife’s gumbo entrée was horrible. It had a very strong taste of vinegar and little to no substance, all liquid. My grilled catfish looked, had the texture of, and tasted again like a frozen filet out of a pack. The seasoning was salty and greasy, and my rice was terribly overdone. We understandably passed on dessert. All this with just water to drink was almost $ 50 and we were both still quite hungry. The second star was given for the fact our server was great. Very friendly and you could tell she was trying to make up for the bad food quality. Hope she gets a job somewhere that she can earn better tips. Sadly, you should avoid this local eatery.

Not worth the visit. What a shame. Gumbo is bland, ownership is bad. Not the kind of family restaurant I want to visit.

First visit. Fun family friendly place. Red Beans okay, I think they spiced With file. Muffuletta was good served hot. Shrimp fettuccine was good. We will come back.

Bourbon balls are amazing! Best dessert in town. Muffuletta is incredible. I’m from Louisiana and I crave Cajun good. This is the cure for us!

Sorry to say that here in my third and possibly last time to visit the food is plain and blah. Gumbo has no flavor or spice. Shrimp po’boy is flat in taste. Even the spicy mayo needs help. Plain pepper and salt have a better taste. Sad to say but this joint needs to go back to the basics and figure out what it means to be a New Orleans spicy food place. This is terrible.

Eating at Meo Mio’s was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long, long time. The décor is a very cheap, cheesy recreation of a street in New Orleans. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was obviously from a frozen bag. It was served luke-warm and tasted nothing like buffalo flavor. The bland salad contained the cheapest of iceberg lettuce, a few carrot shavings, pale flavorless tomatoes, and a vinaigrette that was more like goop-y syrup. The Cajun Ribeye was ordered medium-rare, but cooked well-done. It was very thin, full of fat and had no Cajun flavor to it at all. The seafood bucket was an assortment of food that was overcooked, had no flavor, and was the farthest thing from fresh. The entrees were garnished with some sort of garlic bread/breadstick thing that was so stale, it was inedible. The waitress was nice, but she had no idea what beers the restaurant served, and I actually had to get up from the table and walk near the kitchen to get condiments. I will never go back to this restaurant. What a drag. Spring Hill really needs high-quality, non-chain restaurants. Unfortunately, Meo Mio’s is far from that.

Sever seemed unsure of what to do at times probably a new hire. Bartender wasn’t able to make simple drinks. And food was sub par for the money.

Went here for lunch today and were unimpressed. It was extremely expensive for what we got. Hubby and I got po boys with fries and gator bites for an appetizer… it was okay but not worth $ 11 per plate. Plus it took a lot longer to get our food than I expected:(. On a positive note, it was very nicely decorated like Mardi Gras.

Having lived in Spring Hill for over 10 years, I am excited to see the emergence of locally owned, non-chain restaurants and was very happy to see a Cajun restaurant back in town. Unfortunately, I left with the same feeling as if I had dined at a lackluster chain restaurant. The appetizers were clearly taken from a frozen bag and dropped in the fryer. The portions were very small for the price and level to which they were prepared. Garnished by kale and an orange slice, the pickles and gator bites were mediocre, at best. After a long wait for our entrees, three of four of the dishes arrived. My daughters ordered poboys, which were delivered hot and were the highlight of the experience. They still fit the earlier description of fried, frozen foods purchased from US Foods, but they were at least what I expected. After a few more minutes, the bowl of Ultimate Seafood Gumbo that I ordered, unfortunately did not. It was about 6 oz of gumbo with 4 oz of rice and had a total of 2 crawfish tails with chicken and sausage. When my server approached to check on the meal, I asked if what I received was in fact what I had ordered, considering there was no seafood. He apologized and said he didn’t understand why they called it «seafood gumbo» when they used chicken. The service is what one would expect in a new establishment, and I understand that it takes time to train a staff. Everyone did seem to be working hard and were attentive to their customers. Bottom line, it appears that this place was based off of a chain restaurant methodology and seeks to underwhelm us with mediocrity, lack of creativity, and frozen foods.
