Sad to say, but Nicklow’s is no more. The restaurant closed last fall after the owner passed away. I had many a brunch here with a couple I know, and celebrated his 40th birthday in the basement banquet room. Thank you, Connie, for many a great Big Fat Greek omelet! Thank you, Linda, for your fantastic service! Thanks to the rest of the staff as well. You will all be missed.

Not the best looking place but you always feel welcome here. Great food at a good price. I’ve been coming here for years. Love it!

I was really surprised by this place. I expected the food to be really cheap/gross judging by the outside, and quite frankly, I was afraid to go in. I’m glad a friend finally got me to go there for breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak and it was really really good! It came with eggs, hashbrowns and toast all for just $ 9.99. I’m really picky about my hashbrowns and I inhaled these. They had a yummy seasoned salt on them that was the icing on the cake. Great food. Still surprised. Totally gonna go back and try out the dinner soon.(oh and the interior is kinda kitchy/classy I’ll call it. they white table cloths on all the tables with glass over the top). Another fun fact: everyone get’s a steak knife as part of the regular table setting.

I’ve had everything there from scallops to pasta to gyros to prime rib and it’s all been good. Most of their dinners come with soup and salad and potato and vegetables so you always get your money’s worth. Their house salads(weather you’re getting a dinner sized or just a side salad) has a really yummy hommade dressing on it similar to a creamy italian. The owner is a very friendly greek man named Connie whro is always there around dinner and bar hours and sits out in the dinning room helping and checking on people. All the people I’ve ever brought there have loved it and gone back with me. They usually serve more of an older client so when it’s 7 at night and we want dinner, we know we will get a table since all the older early birds will be gone. They have an early bird dinner special which consists of fish or chicken or prime with all the fixings for a cheaper price from 4 to 6. A few of my personal favorites there are the Au Gratin potatoes, the house salad, vegetable beef soup(it’s ugly but awesome because it’s hommade) the prime rib the saganaki appetizer and the Nicklow’s pasta. They don’t really do a lot of chicken tenders or mac and cheese type things for kids but the food is by no means super fancy so it’s an okay place to bring some kids but not all. They have a bar as well as a dining room and a lunch buffet with more of their greek foods on it if you are looking to try some new things.

OK, it’s not the best-looking place in the world, but it has a cool, swanky vibe, in a run-down sort of a way. In my experience, neighborhood, townie places often have some serious chops when it comes to food. If you can get past that, and the crumbling parking lot, you will be richly rewarded for your courage! The servers are so sweet, I’m always left wondering whether I should offer a hug in addition to my tip. The gyros are A-MA-ZING! And yes, they have Uzo, and even a flaming cheese appetizer! I mean, can you beat cheese, doused in uzo and lit on fire?! Oh, and did I mention it’s cheap? Seriously, I’ve been surprised by my bill every time.

I’ve been here for breakfast, and dinner. Both services left me feeling quite tipsy, but neither one was what I was actually hoping for when I ate here. The breakfast was actually good, I got the bloody mary and a meal deal. It was basically $ 9.99 for me to get eggs benedict(delicious!), hashbrowns(not crispy enough), and a bloody mary(made with pappar but still not spicy enough). I guess you could call me picky, but I really do expect that a place with the reputation for good food and phenomenal service would at least meet or exceed itself. Meh, not so much. Our server was shakier than the earthquake in Virginia, enough to make everyone nervous, but not enough to break anything. The dinner was alright. I remember the drinks more than the food. I guess to say that you don’t remember the food at least means that there was nothing bad or good about it. The service was slow, which is understandable when it’s as packed as it was… The drinks though, took FOREVER. It was like watching the grass grow just trying to get a Vodka Tonic… But oh well, thus is life I suppose. We were only there for about an hour and I only got a total 2 drinks. To be honest, I have no real complaints about this place… but I don’t really have any reason to recommend it either.
