The Pizza Box

We discovered this place last night, after I’ve been wanting to try it for months. It was as good as I thought it would be! This place is attached to Monte’s Sports Bar, which is attached to Key’s restaurant. Tough decision, I know. We ordered our pizza to go, but then walked through the open doorway over to Monte’s to have a drink and wait for it. We had time to sit down and drink a $ 3 beer there and have a little popcorn. The guy then brought it on over when it was finished. We ordered their taco pizza and some wings to go. The taco pizza was awesome because they gave us the pizza, but put all of the cold toppings in a separate box, so we could assemble it ourselves when we got home without everything getting all soggy. Also, great for reheating the next day! It was really good pizza. Nice flavor, thin hand tossed crust, the tomato wasn’t overpowering. It was actually the first pizza where I enjoyed the inside pieces (they were cut into squares) more than the crust! I liked the crust too, but I was surprised. The wings were decent. Not huge, but had a nice batter on them. I think I’d like to eat there next time vs. take-​out, but it was a great meal. They told us on Sunday’s they have a deal, any med for $ 9.99. Not too shabby for a specialty pizza. One of my new favs! The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because I still love Tasty’s pizza in Columbia Heights more, but this is a very close second. Apparently, this place not only delivers pizza to your door, but items from Key’s as well. Hello! I have to check into this a little more.
