Pyrates Sports Bar

Came in here on a Saturday night and the place was dead. The music was great and the atmosphere was alright. The staff was quite friendly as well. They even had a beer pong tournament going on… but there were only like 3 teams… what a tournament…
so here’s my issue… we ordered a lot of shots that night (myself and a buddy of mine on leave). A standard drink is 1.5 ounces of liquor. Now if someone can explain how a mixed shot is less than an ounce-​ounce and a half total to me, that would be great.
I had to start ordering doubles just to feel like I was getting an actual drink. Funny enough, because when we went to pay… allegedly the two of us had 28 drinks in 2.5 hours which cost us over $ 140, and neither us were a smidge past feeling «buzzed». I’m a 5’2 female, after 14 drinks I should definitely feel something…
I have never been to a dive bar and spent $ 140 on drinks, let alone leaving practically sober. For being open longer than I’ve been alive… I’d say I’m surprised people still come here. Maybe things are run differently in Arizona where I’m from, but I will never be back.
