Dollar Video is the last remaining video store in Rockland County. The store is located in Hillcrest plaza, with a Bravo supermarket, and other businesses. It’s address is Spring Valley. But the area is also know as Hillcrest. Step inside and you’ll be greeted with thousands upon thousands of physical DVDs to rent. You might think you stepped back in time to the 80s. The regular digital video discs, rent for $ 2.50, for three nights. that is cheaper then Redbox, which charges $ 1.50 per night. The newest releases, are due back the next day. Other new releases, are due back in three days. Those selections are marked three days. Blu-ray disks rent for $ 3.75and can be taken out for two nights. Everything is arranged by category; action, comedy, drama, sci-fi, foreign, horror television shows. Of course there is a large wall of new releases. Both in regular DVD and Blu-ray.It is really a lot of fun to be able to browse around and look at all the movies they have to offer. There’s just something special about being able to actually, see and physically hold and read the DVD cases, that one can not, do while looking at a computer screen. I have discovered a lot of movies that I never knew anything about, that I really enjoyed watching, that I found in the store. Nancy and Leonard who are the owners of the store, are very personable and friendly. You can always call, and inquire if they have a particular title you’re looking for. Then it can be held for you at the front, when you come in to the store. It’s really nice in this day and age to be able to pop in, to a real video store and instantly pick up any movie your heart may desire, to take Home and enjoy on a cold winters night, or a hot summer day.
