I’ve been to this place many, many years ago and totally forgot about it. I was in search of a new toy, but didn’t want to go out of my way to buy one. I suddenly remember the location and stopped by. The girl at the front was very helpful. She helped me locate my new«buddy». When I went to the register, she opened it, put in a battery to make sure it worked. They let you keep the battery.. The place was clean, and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely go back in the future.

Walked in and it REEKED of pine-sol. Don’t get me wrong, it smelt clean. But damn, my sinuses were burning. Everything in here is HORRIBLY over priced and outdated. Customer service? That is why I give it ONE star(zero if I could): So what do you typically do at a store? Look at items, pick things up, read packaging, etc. I picked up some dollar samples of lubricant to see the difference in ingredients and flavors. I held them for a minute, deciding if I wanted to try them out. I decided to pass. Tossed em back into the bucket and went along to browse the rest of the store. We didn’t end up buying anything and decided to leave. On our way out, a guy with dreads that worked there stopped us and said, «did you take that lube?» Confused, I said, «umm no, I tossed it back into the tub, you want to check me or my purse? Go ahead.» He proceeded with, «I can’t touch you. But I saw you pick it up, did you take it?» Are you freaking KIDDING me? You REALLY think I am going to steal a DOLLARSAMPLEOFLUBE??? Pathetic! Shit, if I was that desperate I would get some for free at planned parenthood! I will NEVER return and DEFINITELY not recommend anyone to shop here. Remember guys, don’t pick up a product you’re not going to buy and put it down! You may be accused of stealing!

I only give three stars because of the changes over the many years. First the good: This establishment has been around for many years but the bookstore location has been changed with the freeway overpass and other road constructions. NIce selection of toys, magazines, videos. Prices are respectable. Store had big open layout and there is normally plenty of parking. Nice personable staff and and they even still have a video arcades in the back. Now the bad: back in the 80s and early 90s this was by far the place to go for your Friday night fetish. I dont remember the exact year but in late 90s the theater was gone and only the infamous glory holes were left. sadly they have gone the way of the dinosaur. If you ask any of the regulars back in the days; men women or random couples that this location was the most popular hangout. IT made playboy and hustler look like a Catholic convent. People would wait in lines for their turn to enjoy their own forbidden erotic fantasies. The theater was good but it had a different vibe as compared to the Kitty KAt theater and Gemini and the one downtown. Jolars did not have a theater at the time and adult depot had its regular clientele. Barnetts was nothing more than an idea on a piece of paper. Also the community of Spring Valley brought the undesirables the drug addicts and homeless into the store and then problems happened. It was never the same after that. But its still a national monument and worthy of a stop in from time to time to experience a part of Adult book store history.

No complaints from me, especially after I had some fun with my husband last night ;) I used to live on dictionary hill so I would drive past this intersection every single day of my life. I remember being a little girl throughout all of elementary school and middle school and wondering what kind of store that was and why only adults were allowed. My parents sheltered me so I never bothered asking why only adults were allowed in there but I was determined at the ripe old age of 9 that I would one day make my way in there and no one is stopping me! This location is very easy to find, it is right off the 25 freeway and surprisingly it is not open 24 hours but only until 2 am. There is always open parking and the employees were super nice. There were so many fun things in there: outfits, toys, lubes, DVDs, blow up dolls, etc. They had one thing that stood out to me a lot. It was a blow up exercise ball with a dildo sticking out of it so you would bounce on it, burn calories, and have some fun at the same time ;) That was not what I bought though. I actually bought a rabbit. I bought the original jack rabbit and this toy is HIGHLYRECOMMENDED for single ladies as well as husband/boyfriends who want to make dreams come true for their partners. Seriously, this toy should be called The Dream Maker. There are different models and the prices range from $ 30 to over $ 100. I went with one that was $ 80 and it is definitely worth the money! Private message me if you want more details! This place is awesome and super fun! Sex should not be taboo or something people are ashamed of so treat yo self Unilocalers!
