Cypresswood Trails

Great place to take your family and pets for a walk. My dog had a blast playing on the trail running on the sand and in the grass

This forest is an AWESOME place for biking in nature. You feel like you are miles from Houston (and you kind of are…), but it’s really pleasant.
You must be on a hybrid or mountain bike since these are truly mountain biking trails. I’m a complete beginner at mountain biking, and I’m arguably a wimp, but I fell a fair amount trying to unsuccessfully dodge stumps on narrow paths and steep hills. An exciting challenge in a beautiful area!

After having visited multiple times, I have to say I love the trails and as far as horseback riding in the area, they are great. Of course I would love to just take a horse and ride for hours but I would get lost. The horses are great and I had to chance to help a bit in their care and they are beautiful and also had time to visit with other customers. The owner wouldn’t win a personality prize but she does run a fun place.

This is the best single track trail system in the area, The main trail-​head is located at the east end of Collins park behind the softball fields.
The trail is fast with lots of twists and turns. There are some pretty good rolling drops and climbs along with some technical trail obstacle’s.
A volunteer organization does a great job maintaining these trails on a regular basis and its a great trail for a novice or a seasoned peddler.
Get out and ride!

This trail was badass. At first we thought it was going to be muddy but ended up being real dry. There are tons of narrow turns, curves, climbs and dips. Wear a helmet and know how to take a fall. The trail is very well maintaned and is very easy to follow.

Trails have been revamped after Ike and a lot of work has been put into cleaning them up. Stay tuned for some cool new technical trail features in addition to the ones we just added. There are still ride-​arounds if you’re not a technical rider, though — so don’t be skeered.

Fun trails that I try to hit when I’m in town. Not the best, but definitely worth a look if you’re in Houston and need a ride.
