Our $ 80,000.00 1957 Chevrolet got it by a deer. The repair at DM was fantastic. The damage was to the left side. Even tore off the mirror. I have turned down $ 100K for the car, their work was that good. They have repaired various windshields for us and at least four cars over the years. Trustworthy and exceedingly professional.

It is, after all, just a car. Ah, but it’s MY car, and since I hadn’t had a collision in nearly 20 years and my car had less than 3K miles on it, I wanted it to look like a virgin by the time it had been repaired.
A good body shop is like a good cosmetic surgeon. They know what they’re doing and they work their craft, mending impairments that were once there so that you would never know they existed. They also need to know how to work with their customers (aka, «patients»), for if you’re extraordinarily particular and discerning about the work that’s done, you can be a bit of a PITA.
After an unfortunate experience with my little Miata, I needed help. D.M. Auto Body had done good body work for us before (it was quite a while ago, however), but they had helped us out about two years ago when we needed an estimate for repairs on our son’s car after he and a deer had a close encounter of the disastrous kind. Always honest and straightforward, our son’s car sat in their lot for about a week waiting for our insurance adjuster to show up; no storage fees were ever accrued when we finally picked it up after the car had been deemed totaled. So when I needed work on my own vehicle, this was one of the first places that I went to get an estimate on the damages.
Late one afternoon I was rear-​ended by a rather large truck causing damage to my trunk and back bumper. Two days later I went on my own to get independent estimates to have repair work done: one was obtained from the dealership where I purchased the car and one was obtained from D.M. Auto Body. Both were within $ 200 of each other and requiring the exact same repairs. Battling with the other party’s insurance company and eventually claiming it through my own insurance dragged the process on longer than expected, but it did give me multiple estimates on repair work and a lot of time to think about where I would ultimately go to get my repairs done.
My husband and I must have visited and talked with Doug at D.M. Auto Body at least two or three times before we finally took my car in to be fixed. We hashed out everything that you could think of: repair vs. replace; matching paint; doing the paint job and alignment of parts correctly; getting the «orange peel» to match the existing parts; the importance of imperfections in the paint. I’m sure Doug must have thought that I, in particular, was nuts with a capital N. But he, obviously, figured out that I wanted my Miata to look like it did before this yo-​yo decided to hit my back end with his behemoth truck and think that it was no big deal.
And, man, did they deliver. My ride looks as good as new and as sweet as the day it drove off the lot. They stayed within the initial estimate, the paint matches (!), seams align, there aren’t any imperfections, and everything was pretty and clean when we went to pick it up (a day earlier than promised!). I know Doug took extra care of my car, but in his words, «It is JUST a car.» But he smiled as he said that to me, knowing that he treated it precisely the way I wanted him to. Oh, yeah, and I gave a huge smile right back.

Crooks plain and simple. Charge excessive fees related to towing and storage. Bordering on illegal. Beware of these guys, they give tow companies and body shops a bad name!

Well, as the saying goes, you cannot judge a book by its cover. We used DM to repair a dint and some scratches on the right rear panel of our BMW 328i. The quote was very reasonable and it was a smooth transaction throughout the entire process from the time we dropped off the car until we picked it up. They were nice enough to provide us with a free car rental while our car was in the shop for 3 days. We dropped it off on a Monday at 9:30am and it was ready on Wednesday at 9:30am. There was one hiccup with the rental car — I didn’t completely close the back hatch, so the light was on in the car overnight and the battery died — Mike drove out to my home and jump started the rental car for me so I could make it to my son’s dental appointment. Wow! Now that is customer service. I will highly recommend this company to friends and family. I am so glad I found a reliable body shop nearby. I have passed this place so many times and didn’t even remember it was there. So glad I googled and found it. A true hidden gem with great people!
