Eros landscaping

Planted trees that died, spent over two thousand on the job. I called him and he said he would come and look at my trees, never came back and ignored my calls. Do NOT hire him, horrible customer service, trees died… I wasted my money!!!

If I could give a half star rating, I would!
In April, we decided to spruce up our backyard and add some greenery to it. I looked on Unilocal for a landscaping company in our area and came across Eros Landscaping which had one and only one review at that time — which was positive — so I called the phone number listed. The owner answered, JR Rodriguez, and he was pleasant and said he would come out on a Sunday to take a look at what we needed done. This was the ONLY appointment that he actually was punctual for. After agreeing on what we wanted and price, he said he and his crew could start on Tuesday and would be at our house at 10:00 AM.
Tuesday came, and my husband, who stayed home to meet JR and his crew at 10:00 AM, called me at noon and said he was a no show. I called and was told that his dad, Jesus, was going to do the work and he was running behind and that he wouldn’t be at the house until 2:00 PM. I was at this point frustrated because I had to follow-​up with him regarding the no show when he should have called to tell me his dad was going to be late. Lo and behold, Jesus doesn’t show up at 2:00 PM but instead 4:00 PM and again, I had to call!
We agreed that a weed barrier would be added to avoid weeds growing but of course this was not done, and weed popped up everywhere. I called JR to discuss this but it took NUMEROUS calls before I could actually get a hold of him, and it was only because I called Jesus to give JR the message that I needed to speak to him. Jesus then told me JR was out of town handling some personal issues, and that was the reason why he was not returning my calls. Personal issues aside, he owns a business and customer service should be the forefront and if JR couldn’t call me back, he should have had his dad or someone at his company help me.
We had seven Italian Cypress trees planted, and all but two are dead and the two are barely hanging on. We did as we were instructed by Jesus and watered them every other day. So fast forward to present time I called JR to see if he can come out to see if it was due to the way the trees were planted and if they were salvageable. I left several messages, texted JR AND Jesus, emailed him and it was after almost two weeks that he FINALLY responded from someone else’s phone that he was working on a job, dropped his phone in water, and I could reach him on his friend’s phone. This was a Friday, and he said he would come out on Monday afternoon to checkout the backyard and the dead trees. Sunday I texted and called him to confirm if he could meet my husband at 4:00 PM that Monday but of course, NO REPLY.
Monday rolled around, and I couldn’t very well have my husband sit at home all day waiting for JR so he went to work. When he arrived home he found a note from JR that he showed up but no one was home. Had he confirmed the time someone would have been home! He didn’t bother leaving a phone number where he could be reached nor mentioning coming back.
The cycle started all over again with leaving him messages and when my husband finally got a hold of JR he said he would come to our house on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Guess what? HE DID NOT SHOW UP.
As you can see, there is a pattern here. And he cannot say he was not getting our messages — I texted, emailed, and left numerous messages for JR, his DAD, and on his friend’s cell. A couple of thousand dollars down the drain, and we are so disheartened. PLEASE whatever you do avoid this company AT ALL COST!

I came across Jr from Eros when I badly needed help to rescue a garden project another contractor failed to complete. The previous contractor was only concerned about getting his checks on time and had no real passion for the job. My project went on and on until I fired him. Jr from EROS turned up to discuss and had some great ideas. I could see he wanted the job, not just to win a job but because he liked my vision for the yard. On day 1, four of his team turned up and worked consistently until darkness. All through the weekend he and his crew worked to complete the project. I did not have to stand over him, he knew all the tasks that needed done and took the initiative to complete. EROS will be my Landscape company of choice for as long as I live in Houston. I would definitely recommend this company to any friends and family. He is all about the customer experience and long term relations
