Is by far the best I feel here in Houston, it has instilled confidence back in my child’s (13 yr) the Combat fitness offers great exercise, , Krav classes have so much to offer beginners and advance people, the Instructors are fantastic they push (what is needed) thanks Joe and Ashley !! Your the best thank you for helping my daughter out,
I hope my daughter continues to enjoy and improve …
It also has a great group members and you really can’t beat the prices for such great training !

Companies that listen to their clients will succeed. I received a call from one of the partners at Krav Maga North Houston. He listened to my concerns and immediately implemented some directives and training so the Combative Fit classes are intense and challenging.
The first class since this change was fantastic and exactly what I am looking for.

The instructors are great at Krav Maga North Houston. They are attentive, patient, and genuinely care about teaching you how to survive. I’ve been attending classes here for almost a year. When I first started, I was uncomfortable with the idea of group classes. I would make myself go. Then after a few months of attending class, 2 – 3 times a week, I started really enjoying it. The instructors and the students are so encouraging. It is such a positive atmosphere there. If you’re looking for a great workout and to learn practical life-​saving skills, this is the place to be.

Spoke with Josh, business manager, who reached out to me regarding my injury and my experience in closing out my account. He wasn’t aware of the extent of my injury and when I was able to explain to him what my situation was, he helped me out. Bottom line is that if I ever get cleared to train again, I’ll go back to Krav Maga Houston.

My son was only able to go to a few classes due to scheduling conflicts, the classes he attended seemed good, my complaint is with the customer service aspect of this business. Firstly, they required my son’s email address for communication about class times etc despite the fact that he isn’t old enough to drive and doesn’t check his emails on a regular basis so I wasn’t aware when the schedule changed, this change made it very difficult to make it to classes so we knew about 2 months into our 6 month contract that we would no longer be able to attend. I called about cancelling but was informed that this needed to be done in person during their limited operating hours (if you work normal hours). Additionally, I was over charged about $ 300 for someone else’s membership and had to call multiple times before they corrected the mistake.

Josh is amazing! He cares about you as a person and not just a client. I have been working out here for a few months now and have noticed a big difference. Definitely recommend this place for sure!

I’ve been working out here for a year now and I am addicted to it! I’m over 40 and getting in the best shape of my life. Love the instructors and the GM — Josh Allgood. He sold me the membership a year ago and still makes the time to come over and check in on me when I come to the gym. Much better customer service than your 24 Hours or Lifetime fitness — not to mention, a better workout!

I did my research before deciding to enroll here. Although it is more expensive than your typical «McDojo», this is one instance where you get what you pay for. The staff instructors are obviously experts in their field: well trained, conditioned, have impeccable attention to detail and take their responsibility as representatives of this Martial Art, seriously. It is not a cake walk. If you just want to work on your bubble butt, your biceps, or play happy slappy fluff fluff kickboxing — because it’s cool to say you did — go to 24 hour Fitness. This curriculum seems to be designed with a definite end goal — teach REAL Krav Maga. You will sweat, curse, bleed, get sore in muscles you never knew existed and probably pray to God every single class for the pain to end… they push you, but are very careful not to break you.
You want to get your black belt in as little time and effort as possible and STILL GET BEAT DOWN, like a pacifist against a mob of violent cartel members, go take Krav in the Woodlands. If you want to learn to be able to protect yourself, your property and your family, this is hands down the place to be.

I wish I could give them a negative stars. Let’s start off with the staff here is very unprofessional over the telephone. The contracts are very vague and to sum up everything this is a money hungry company. They do not care about the satisfaction of the customer they just want their money.
I had an issue with charges on my credit card. I called and could not reach anyone. No one ever called back so I disputed the charges with my bank since no one would return my phone call. Later down the road about a month or two later they call me because they received a chargeback. Hmm… Now you are concerned and want to talk.
Josh Allgood and a guy name Isreal (wrong spelling) both hung up in my face and would not let me speak. Josh simple told me «good luck, because we are sending you to collection» in my mind I’m thinking this is crazy. I’m trying to explain to him that the payment is not the issue … I called several times and could not get in contact with anyone and I no longer stay in the city. I did not want to continue to receive charges on my credit card but if I owe something I will pay. Nope nope nope he wasn’t not hearing it. Called back and spoke to Isreal and I tried to let him know that the payment was made and he asked «is everything done?» and I replied yes, then he hung up in my face as I was asking a question about their lack of communication with there customers.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are too many other facilities that offer the same thing with better customer service and more thorough contracts. I’m highly disappointed.

Do NOT sign a contract here! I wish I could give less stars. My daughter and I both had contracts and she moved to Australia and my job took me out of town and it has now been three months past when the contract should have run out and four months since I paid a cancellation fee and they are still charging my credit card. I have physically signed Three (3) cancellation notices this last one because they kept me on a month to month! Extremely unprofessional, don’t entangle yourself with this business.

I avoided this facility for a couple of years based on the negative reviews I read here. I despise high pressure sales. Due to the fact that I wanted training that was street rather that sport oriented I eventually decided to give it a try after doing some sport BJJ at a couple different places over the last year.
I did not get a hard sell — Jason was very easy going. They do put a bit of pressure on you to make an immediate decision by offering a substantial discount if you sign up immediately. The contracts are also very long. So — it is in your best interest to read up on Krav Maga and know that this is something you want to commit to before walking in the door. But there was nothing unpleasant.
Past that — I have been doing martial arts off and on since the 80’s. These are probably the best run classes I have been in. First — you usually only study one technique per class — and you do it in phases. This allows you to actually learn and retain the technique vs. bouncing around so much you end up learning nothing. Second, they are fast paced — you are going to get a real cardio work out. Third, the instructors are very competent and really engaged. They are not bored, they are not chatting with staff, they are instead going from person to person (usually pair to pair) making corrections and giving encouragement. There is usually more than one instructor. Fourth, while they encourage you to push hard they don’t force the issue. If you are standing on the side gasping for air — they understand. Great instructors.
The facility also offers «Extreme Fitness» which is combatives based, along with Cross Fit. I’m taking the Extreme Fitness class in addition to the Krav Maga (both are included in the same price) and I’m slowly building my cardio back up. Cross Fit is a separate program. Also — there is a great selection of free weights and machines that are included in the membership — and they are not crowded.
Finally, everyone taking the classes is very nice. Some programs seem to attract people with big egos — not here.

This is not a bad place really, I was very upset with them about the membership contract not being in layman’s terms, but at the end of the day I signed it, and should have read the fine print
When I did go to class it was great and I have stayed in shape and lose 35 pounds so far. It did start with them, but they really should fix that automatic renewal thing, send us a email, text or something.
They will motivate you and it will stay with you and it will be worth it, I wish I didn’t move so faraway.

If you’re serious about working out and getting fit this is the place to be. Zumba has nothing on this.

PROS: Facility: Spacious, Well-​equipped, Excellent cleanliness
Instructors: Well qualified, Enjoy what they are doing
CONS: Sales staff: Disingenuous, Must attend sales seminars based on Kurt Russell’s character in the 1980’s movie Used Cars, I always feel dirty and have to take several repeated long hot showers after speaking with these guys
OVERALL: There are other fitness options out there. Shop around. You can do better. I will not renew with these guys.

Paid for a membership up front but rarely attended. Noticed today that I’m being billed monthly (2 months’ worth up to now) after expiration of the original term — omg, wth?! Called them up, they explained that membership renews automatically if not cancelled 30 days in advance. I was pretty unhappy at that point.
Spoke with Jason, he told me to come in and see what he could do. I won’t go into numbers but let’s just say he was professional, courteous and flexible. All said and done, situation was resolved to my complete satisfaction — they really went above and beyond.
Contract issues aside, its a great facility in convenient location. Its pricey but proly worth it. Word to the wise: if you’re shy with strangers then you may want to join with a buddy — group instruction is 90% of what they do and you may not feel comfortable asking the woman/​child next to you to partner up. Other than that, good place to go.

Josh really took care of us and we are so excited to learn more self-​defense! I am so happy we found this place and found a workout that my husband and I both enjoy.

This gym is by far the best gym I’ve ever signed up with. Great people great trainers and everyone that comes here all come with one purpose, to change their lifestyle. I read other comments/​reviews on Unilocal and I feel that those people were bashing Krav Maga people for dumb annoying reasons. You pay to get healthy point blank. Don’t sign if you intend to quit your journey. No haggling with prices. Either you join Krav Maga or go to planet fitness to pay 15 a month and eat pizza on pizza night.

Terrible customer service. Just a bunch of con artists! Someone tell me how this makes sense… I have a credit of $ 200 and It will cost me $ 160 to cancel my membership, but they refuse to use my credit to do so!!! STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING ROBBED

After they saw this review, they called me… not to make things right, but to basically whine about my review. Then proceeded to tell me that their BS «courtesy» cancellation policy (which is anything BUT courteous) would now be retracted from my account because of this «slanderous» review. He said that now I will have to pay MORE to get out of my contract. All because I wrote the truth about them! Way to do business like a bunch of children! All you have done is fuel my fire. You should all seriously consider taking some classes in customer service! Also, I sent an e-​mail request for a copy of my contract and they have yet to send it to me, yet have all the time in the world to respond to people on Unilocal who are simply shining a light on the type of people they really are.

I’ve been coming here for about 2−21÷2 years now. I absolutely love the facility! The instructors are great and actually care about teaching! If your looking for a great way to get in shape and defend yourself in a very practical manner then this is the place for you!

First I don’t appreciate y-​e-​l-​p deleting my substantive real experience at krav magna houston! What is going on with Unilocal!I go on krav magna’ website and Unilocal is Advertised on their website as 5 stars! That is false advertising, they are not five stars.
So here goes another review on krav magna Houston because Unilocal deleted my first review.
I purchased a groupon, fully paid and made an appointment with josh at 6pm and met him at 6pm. I told him I had groupon and he tried to upsell me on the Crossfit and other class called extreme fitness by telling me the enrollment fees and monthly charges and what I should do. He tried to sell me 6 months of classes that I haven’t even done one class of. I told him I wanted to use the groupon and try the classes for a month, so he gives me a piece of paper with a class
schedule and tells me that there are 2 classes a week that I could attend once a day. That is 6 classes a month! Omg my groupon I purchased stated unlimited classes for a month! That is false advertising! Needless to say I contacted groupon.
I felt really really uncomfortable and I couldn’t believe what he was doing. He circling things and doing math on the piece of enrollment paper and telling me how this price now will be a lot less if I paid right now and that it was a one time deal. He was like a bad car salesman. Wait a minute… I’m at a gym.ugh. After about 15 minutes i felt trapped in his office and couldn’t leave. When I finally got up and left I could breath.
