I first set foot in this place 4 years ago. Stopped in twice and 4 years later I’m back. Nothing has changed, service is great!(I live out of town) Mind you, it is the middle of the week so there aren’t that many people, however it still quite entertaining. We ended up being here for 3 hours and could’ve stayed longer but we were tired. I can only recommend to stop by for a drink.

One of my favorite GLBT country western bars. Could it be because it’s the only GLBT country western bar left in the 770 zip code? I’m not sure but the cheap drinks and clean bathrooms are definitely a plus. I wish the dance floor was a little bigger. And I wish I got asked to dance more!

This little bar is ok. The beer is cold, the music is loud, the staff & patrons are friendly. What more could you ask for? Maybe that they make it non-smoking. Other than that I had a good time while I was there.

First off, it’s really a blessing to have a gay bar in The Woodlands area. Driving 30 – 40 minutes to Montrose and then driving back — bad idea. The bar itself is pretty good sized. There is a large dance floor, 2 pool tables and several tables in addition to the oddly shaped bar — lots of corners — sometimes nice to have a private conversation, sometimes not so great when you get TRAPPED. There is plenty of parking usually, unless the biker bar on the other side of the lot is busy and/or its clientèle have decided to hang out at the Ranch that night. Anyway, it’s a half block walk if you have to park on the street — no biggie. The owner tries to keep the place looking good and the current staff seems to be very customer focused. That being said, the whole place could use a good scrubbing, but it’s not nearly as bad as Tony’s Corner Pocket downtown! :) Although there’s not a lot of eye-candy, there are nights when a lot of cuties come out to dance/hang out. It’s definitely a lesbian bar over a boy bar, though. The owner does a lot for the gay community — lots of fund raisers, fun events, even drag shows(I KNOW the gals were probably not looking forward to those, but they seem to have more fun than they expected!!!) Coming from a city that didn’t have any gal/guy mixed clubs, it’s pretty cool to see how well everyone gets along. We’ve been coming to the Ranch Hill(at it’s currently location) since it opened. We’ve seen it expand in size and offering quite a bit. It’s easy to complain that ‘you’d do it better’ but I give them an A for effort — they are continually improving. The music can run the gambit — the dj’s don’t seem to understand that when the bar is full of guys — LOSETHECOUNTRY&WESTERN music… nothing is more of a buzz-kill than seeing the dance floor clear out when the dj just HAS to slip in a tired, dull country song. The folks at the biker bar have never been a bother in the parking lot. They can be a bit annoying when the park themselves at the Ranch and use the pool tables, but they are usually pretty chill. As we are in the ‘burbs — we can STILLSMOKE inside the bar. I think gays/lesbians will be the very LAST people to put ‘em out. THANKGOD!!! There is a small, fenced in patio in the back with tables & chairs and fireplace. They have monitors all over the place. Unfortunately, there is nothing but SPORTS on them… dance/music videos would be welcome…

It’s been a while since I’ve been here. Sometimes the boys from the biker bar get curious and come inside to check things out. Some stay for the music and some leave. Some are curious in other aspects. This bar has a mixed crowd of gays and lesbians. The mix seems to work for this bar as everyone seemed friendly and intermingled. Albeit the music is not the most up to date it is palatable. The DJ mixes both dance and country together in one evening. Nice to see same sex couples two-stepping. For me, this bar is a nice place to stop and have a quick one before heading somewhere else. An appetizer if you will. Or it’s a nice place to stop off and just have laid back night with your friends.

So The Woodlands had to get a gay bar… but did it have to be country/western themed?! Scary. The biker bar across the street? Even scarier. This place is disgusting and the DJ doesn’t have any modern day music except for a couple of things she may have gotten that the boys might like to dance to. I always hated coming here… good idea, but it didn’t pull it off. Poor Ranch Hill. I’m glad I’m in a city where there’s a whole neighborhood of gay now. No scary bikers looking to jump a queer boy as they are walking to their car tipsy.
