Living in The Woodlands, I was really happy to find an authentic Sichuan restaurant that wasn’t all the way in Chinatown, which is a hike in a good day and a nightmare when traffic is bad and I’m getting hangry in the car. This place is in an unassuming little strip mall on the side of the road and the interior is pretty casual dining. They don’t yet have a liquor license so nothing fancier than tea and soda, if that matters to you. But to me, the important part is the food and that was pretty dang good. The restaurant has a full menu of American Chinese food and one page on the back of the«Chinese menu», as my waitress put it, with dishes listed in English and Chinese. Not a huge selection but they seem to have the staples. I’ve found a good way to judge a Sichuan restaurant is by their water boiled fish(水煮鱼) and the one here had a good number of tender pieces of boneless fish, a good amount of cabbage(to soak up all the flavor and provide some crunch), and a well flavored sauce. I approve. No lamb but the cumin beef(孜然牛肉) was very tender and tasty, with the right flavors. However the Dan Dan noodles(担担面) were lacking in chili oil and heat and salt, while the chili oil bamboo was over salted. So I’d say the main dishes off the Chinese menu here have great authentic flavor and I will definitely be coming back to try more, but maybe be a bit lenient on appetizers and ask for recs(our waitress later admitted she didn’t love the Dan Dan noodles either). Prices at least were reasonable and portions large.

Quality hot and sour soup and the Mongolian three plate option is very good. The restaurant has a modern look, with classic Chinese food. A definite stop if you’re looking for light Chinese food that hit your stomach like a brick.

This chinese restaurant is actually pretty good. The atmosphere is homey, service is friendly and the food is passable for sure. I came in with a small group and they were offering free soft drinks all day for the holidays. We ordered the hunan beef, Mongolian beef(extra spicy), beef with broccoli, chicken with eggplant and seafood tofu soup. Yes, I know, an overload of beef dishes, but they all pretty much got eaten. The spiciest dish was the hunan beef actually, not the Mongolian beef, and was my overall favorite. The Mongolian beef and chicken were also good. I didnt see hardly any seafood in the soup, so that wasn’t a popular dish at our table. The beef and broccoli looks nearly identical to the hunan beef, only a different flavor sauce is used. I’m not sure I will be back anytime soon, since I mainly came here because very few other places were open at the time and I don’t live in the area. If you do live close, it’s a good Chinese restaurant for this area.

Came here with hubby and my family. Hubby Unilocaled it and though we try it out. Great food. The orange beef was great. Everyone was satisfied. My mom who is really picky about Chinese food said this is the place to eat. The lady there was very nice to us. We got free drinks. Not sure if it was because it was Christmas. Will be coming back again when I come visit my mom.

Do yourself a favor and order off the«traditional» menu(last page). It is close to authentic and its not easy to find this type of Chinese(outside of Chinatown). I didn’t try aything on the western(Chinese) menu but why would I. If you want a taste of real Sichuan food come here.

Order for pick up last night. Been waiting to check them out since it’s close to home and just open. Was trying to find a menu online and couldn’t so yesterday when I got home from a longggggg day at work– there it was hanging on my door like s sign from above. Okay not that serious but… We ordered: Vegetable egg foo young– this is my typical go to dish most the time. I’m not typically a fan of the meats at some Chinese restaurants so I played it safe. I MUST say it was the best I’ve had! I really really really enjoy they do not put it in the sauce so I can control how much I want to put on it. Only caution is they put a doley at the bottom… Didn’t notice that till the fiancé went to go eat the bottom one LOL. But it’s okay that was my fault for not looking as well as not wanting to plate my food but I was just to tired. The sauce on the side was super flavorful and didn’t turn into complete jello the next day like I’m use to seeing which excited me even more! Mongolian beef extra spicy– Once again the flavor was amazing! Actual jalapeños spiced it up and none of that heaven grease tasting goo a lot of places put the beef in. The onions had great color on them Veggie fried rice– was good nothing to run out and get like the two main dishes above. But I will still order it again because the veggies have a little crunch which I love! They originally forgot it in our order so we did have to go back for it, which was not a big deal since we ordered way to much food so it was out lunch today. Fried cheese wantons– These were okay too. I wish they had some type of chive or something in them. But they are exactly as they say lol. All in all, happy the food was flavorful and not coated in that weird goo stuff most places load their food in. Excited to try some more dishes from here! The lady that took our order was a sweet she did note she was new when entering the food since it was taking her a moment which I did not mind at all! Will try and remember to post pictures of the menu on here as well, since if you don’t live close by you may not be able to see it.

Great food. Terrific food! But… The service needs a little work. Two employees were arguing with each other both in front and then in the kitchen. Patrons in the restaurant could hear it all. Ordered General Tso’s shrimp. Got General Tso’s chicken. It was very good though. Will come here again. I just hope they can find some employees that are happier about their job.

I was completely surprised by the meal that I received in a quick and timely fashion, by delivery no doubt. Under the Chinese Dishes I completely recommend the Pan-Fried Shrimp, oo la la so good! The Thai Lo Mein very good but could have included more egg, I really loved the noodles and it was not dreanch in sauce, included plenty of shrimp(sm), pork very good flavor. We also had the shrimp fried rice which was very delightful. You can expect big shrimp with that and the Pork Dumplings yum. We would definitely order from that place again.
