Need a hat? What type of hat? You name it – no matter what size head you’ve got, this place has got some sort of covering for you. I am NOT a hat person. Actually, I normally loathe hats. But when you’re driving a convertible, the sun is always in your eyes. I’ve got a visor, but at times it just doesn’t cut it. I needed a hat. ARGH. And I abhor baseball caps. Walked in here figuring that if I was going to EVER find a hat, I’d find one here. Be damned if I didn’t find a hat. A cute one too that fit just like I wanted it to and it was very reasonably priced to boot. Sweet. I needed a hat. I got a hat. And that’s as good as it gets!

Bowler, western, cloche, fascinator, straw, felt, flat tops, pork pie, derbies, fedoras, bucket, bretton, sun, newsboy, gibson, floater, flapper, equestrian.. . hats. No handbags, luggage, purses, scarves, jewelry, shoes, umbrellas, jackets. None. Hats. Just Hats. All sizes of hats. Even the front porch has hats. Of all the shops in Old Town Spring, Hat People is the most fascinating for me. It’s just plain fun. The staff is quite good, too. One was able to held me find the right hat in the right size based on my spotty and vague description. That same person was even able to give me a little history of when and where that style of hat was most popular. With the st. patrick’s day leprechaun hats lining the front, Hat People at first made me think this was going to be joke store with the party and novelty headgear; you know, the kind with eyes and antlers at the end of large springs fastened on a head band. But I was wrong. It was a nice surprise. I just wished I lived closer; but it’s probably good for my bank account that I don’t.
