One of my new favorites for Italian food! True authentic pasta dishes, excellent stuffed mushrooms for appetizer, fresh salads, and BYOB! Great service in a cool rustic building. If weather is nice they have a large patio for outdoor dining.

Hole in the wall. Great food. Zero atmosphere, but that’s what the owner said he is trying to achieve. It’s all about the food. Horribly understaffed. Once the waitress took our order, never saw her again. Bussed our own table and got our own water. Worth going again for the food, but a bit overpriced. BIGPLUS. BYOB.

First and LAST visit. Ate on a paper plate. Pizza was tasteless. Sausage wasn’t fully cooked on it and greasy!!! Ick! Appetizer was $ 10 of stuffed mushrooms, they were size of nickels, about 8 of them with the same uncooked sausage covered with cheese swimming in grease. The Dr Pepper can my friend was given had a top that was ready to Explode… We couldn’t open the can with the«pop-top» we had to carefully pry it open a bit with the knife until it could pour out! OMG. what a disaster. Place was a joke!

All I can say is, get the pizza. Best pizza hands down! The restaurant doesn’t serve liquor but you can BYOB. We found this out only after ordering our food. I will go back when in Old Town Spring again.

Service was absolutely terrible. We were seated promptly but it took about 10 minutes for a server to ask what we’d like to drink. It took another 10 minutes to bring a glass of water and a lemonade(which tasted like water with a splash of lemonade so it was sent back). It took another 15 minutes or so for our server to come back and take our food order. So by this time we had been seated for over half an hour and had barely given our food order. It took another 45 minutes for our order of a small pizza and an entrée dish to come out. It took us all of about 10 minutes to eat and then took another 10 minutes to get the check. Food was decent but was not nearly as good as some of the other reviews made it out to be and definitely not worth the price. After that hour and 45 minute fiasco, I am positive that we will not be returning.

This is the best Italian restaurant in the Houston area! The food is amazing, I suggest the Maria’s Go-To pasta dish and the Orecchiette. The Joint Salad and the complementary bread are also top notch. Another awesome thing about this place is that you do not have to deal with the crazy alcohol prices that you find in many restaurants because you can bring your own alcohol. The Italian Joint is the perfect place for a casual date or dinner with friends and family.

I recently tried the Black Sheep Bistro in Old Town Spring with my wife a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the dining experience. Our waitress highly recommended the Italian Joint for the homemade tiramisu, so we decided to try their sister restaurant this evening. We were glad that we did. Food was delicious and came out piping hot. Service was friendly and attentive. Ariel was our waitress again and she immediately recognized us. Her recommendations to try the egg plant appetizer and chicken alfredo were spot on. The rollatini was a wonderful fried eggplant filled with ricotta, melted mozarella, and marinara sauce. My wife had the angel hair pasta with sauteed shrimp and a creamy pesto. My fettucine alfredo came with lightly breaded chicken strips that were pan-fired to perfection. All of the dishes were delicious. Even the artesan bread came straight out of the oven — super crusty on the outside, steaming hot and soft in the middle. It was even better with the garlic butter. Our only disappointment was that we were too full after our meal and had to skip dessert. Will definitely go back soon to try the tiramisu as well as the other authentic selections on the menu.

Small, out of the way, Italian restaurant in Old Town Spring. It was a beautiful evening and my husband and i sat out on the porch and had a lovely meal. The menu is truly Italian, and the food is great.

Small quaint restaurant located in Old town Spring. Italian music playing in the background and the food was Uh-mazing. The meatball appetizer is a must! I had the angel hair pasta and would highly recommend. The service was fantastic and they have a no charge corking fee so you can bring your own wine and drink it there. We will definitely go back.

This little«joint» is nestled in Old Town Spring. The owners Joe and Marie are transplants from New jersey. They bring a wonderful energy to the dining options in OTS for they are also owners of The Black Sheep Bistro. The Italian joint is upscale casual and the menu has great traditional Italian food, with some unexpected unique options. Angela was our server and delivered exceptional service. Great date night spot with my hubby. The dinner started with fresh hot bread which was divine. Hubby had the Italian joint salad and the Orecchiette. The dish is homemade pasta with crushed Italian sausage and broccolini, with a creamy tomato sauce. Everything was wonderful! I had the Chicken Marsala with the most tender chicken and delicious wine sauce. If wine is your choice of drink, be sure to bring your own bottle. Ciao!

Absolutely love this place! The décor is a work in progress but it’s so nice to sit outside on the patio on a nice day! My only grip is they no longer have the manicotti on the menu:(. Bring the manicotti back and soon as it was the best thing on the menu:)

First time here. Great service and great food. I’ve also noticed people bring their own beverages so that’s nice. The waiter brought the couples glassware for their drinks. I had Angel Hair pasta with shrimp, tomatoes, pesto, and spinach. My BF had buffalo chicken pizza and he ate the whole thing, he really enjoyed it.

I had lunch here today and it was my first time. The table ordered the 3 meatball appetizer and a pizza to share. Everything was delicious from the bread with garlic butter, to the amazing flavor of the meatballs, to the authentic New York style pizza. Everything was on point. I have now found a new routine lunch spot and look forward to trying the lasagna next.

Service: personable, prompt, outstanding. Décor: beautiful pine on floors, walls, ceiling. Sparse but warm. Good spacing on tables. Free toasted bread with garlic butter: Seriously, one of the highlights of the meal. Salads: the small«Joint Salad» was superb… The small was almost a meal in itself Entrées: ordered lasagna, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and orecchiette. The peppery orecchiette with Italian sausage was the surprise hit. Lasagna was tasty but lukewarm. Fettuccine was good but… It’s fettuccine alfredo, and at $ 20 overpriced by $ 5. Booze: bring your own wine Overall: would have been 5 stars if not for lukewarm lasagna and overpriced fettuccine. We’ll definitely go back and try the pizza(which looked REALLY good). Old Town Spring really needed this type of restaurant!

The Italian Joint is the newest venture of nearby Black Sheep Bistro owners. The restaurant is very minimally decorated and not particularly cozy. Service here needs some serious help. It doesn’t appear that the waitstaff is assigned certain sections which leads to mass confusion. Multiple severs taking your order and refilling drinks and none of them doing it very well. It’s a shame because the food is really tasty. Started with the meatball app. Beef, pork, and veal meatballs in a delicious marinara sauce. Pair that with a basket of their crusty homemade bread and it’s a sheer joy. The Burrata salad was my favorite dish of the night. Next was the pizza which unfortunately took over 30 minutes because I’m pretty sure the server forgot to put the order in. It was okay. The crust was thin but not crispy. I really wasn’t a fan. They are BYOB and there’s no corkage fee. You can also get a 15% discount on a bottle of wine at Black Sheep Bistro if you forgot to bring one with you.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. It’s located in old towne springs and tastes like authentic home cooking. The heavy feeling after eating at other Italian joints usually deters me from ever really going to eat it. Not here tho. Their fresh bread with garlic butter is to die for! Careful to not eat too much because their portions are generous and you should save your stomach for the deliciousness that is about to come. Today’s meal included: — Italian Chicken Soup — Sautéed Calamari(love this!) — Meatball Parmesan Sandwich(meatballs are delicious) — Chicken Parmesan with Linguini(also a fav of mine) — Gemelli with Mushroom Ragout We had their pizza on our last visit and it was also delicious. If you are looking for an authentic, affordable restaurant that leaves you satisfied but not feeling gross, this is the place to go to!

We love The Italian Joint and were happy to see the owners of one of our favorite restaurants in the Houston area, Black Sheep Bistro, branch out with their authentic Italian food with many dishes from the chef’s family recipes. Their homemade bread and garlic butter were a wonderful start to the meal. The starter Polenta with Mushroom Ragout with its cheesy, fluffy texture was the best polenta I have ever had and was probably the best part of my meal. I could have eaten it as a main dish… sorry… I forgot to take a picture before eating it all with my daughter. I had the Eggplant Rollotini… and will come back for it again… and again. My husband really liked his Chicken Parmesan. My sons shared the Spaghetti and Meatballs and ate them all. My oldest daughter had the Gemelli with Mushroom Ragout and, of course, loved it. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu and also the Cannoli. The Tiramisu was AMAZING!!! The Cannoli were very good. I like that they were not over cooked. The ricotta and chocolate chip filling were very nice. Though, I do have a friend from Italy who makes the best Cannoli I’ve ever had, so I always compare everyone’s to hers… The Italian Joint’s were very close. We appreciated the chef’s wife/co-owner recognizing us from having eaten several times at The Black Sheep Bistro and sitting to visit with us for a bit. We loved our dining experience AND the amazing food and are so happy to support a locally owned business. And we are THRILLED that we have such quality restaurants this side of Spring.
