Whether we’re grabbing a picnic and heading over to enjoy the fountains and singing Christmas tree at Waterway Square, or just going out for a Sunday stroll, the Waterway is one of our favorite outdoor hangouts. It’s got the feel of the San Antonio Riverwalk without all the storefronts and millions of restaurants. The walk coming from the Woodlands Mall area is beautiful and a great way for the kids to burn off their energy, but if you don’t feel like walking you can hop on a water taxi or trolley and enjoy the ride. I’m not sure if the trolley runs all year or just around the holiday season, but we’re trying that out next. All the construction right before Waterway square is distracting and a bit of a nuisance, but once you get passed that, it’s gorgeous!
