We debated back and forth about writing this review, but ultimately felt that we should so that others would not make the same mistake that we made. We noticed that Gina C’s review mentioned the same problem we experienced: Trim Electric does not stand by their work. Do yourself a favor and find an electrician who will do the job they’re they’ve been hired to do(diagnose & fix the problem). We will not be hiring this company again.

Carlos from Trim Electric just left my house. He came on time, he was efficient and competent and diagnosed and repaired my problem in short order. He took the time to check the entire problematic circuit and repaired several other issues with it – deterioration, etc. All for a reasonable price. Trim folks are my new electricians.

We owned the timer, which is why I stated it was ‘existing’ in my review, but Trim installed it. They keep trying to say they didn’t, but it was simply a part that we allowed them to re-use after they removed it instead of throwing it away. We were more than happy to pay to replace the timer once it wore out, as it was provided by us, and understandably was not covered under warranty. Our confusion was that they tried to charge us for the labor to replace the timer. Since they initially installed the part, we couldn’t understand why they were not backing up their labor. In addition, we never refused payment. As we stated before, we told the people we spoke to that if we were forced to pay for labor that should be covered under warranty, we would find another electrician to do the remainder of the electrical work in our home(we had a significant amount of electrical work they had quoted us for that were were intending to do in stages with them). It was then that we were told we did not have to pay. We, of course, assumed this meant they were focusing on the thousands of dollars of electrical work they could still do for us and not pinching a measly $ 200 out of us for a repair. If they did not want us to continue to use them, why did they not just say«pay us the $ 200, and find a new electrician»? In addition, they were very dishonest when we repeatedly tried to schedule the subsequent service calls. Why did they not state up front, the first time we called, that they were refusing us service? They just kept saying over and over again they were very busy. Nothing I have said about Trim has been untrue. I wrote an honest account of a negative experience. A negative review is not slander. We believe strongly that Trim’s electrical work and electricians are not to blame for our terrible experience. Had we not had warranty issues, we might have a very different review to write, but even the best service providers will occasionally need to follow up with subsequent service calls, especially when dealing with older homes. It was our experience that Trim’s office leaders treated our request for warranty service as an opportunity to make a little more money instead of an opportunity to stand behind their work.
