In 2000, as a very healthy, 6 season college athlete, now PE Teacher, I began getting sinus infections, bladder infections, allergies out of control. I prayed for help, the Holy Spirit guided me to knowledge of my 9 X-​Large amalgam fillings were causing metal poisoning. Symptoms of MS were appearing. My older sister 3 yrs, was diagnosed with MS 2000 & breast cancer in 2001, died in 2014. My older brother 2 yrs, was diagnosed with MS and currently can barely walk. I got tested BEFORE removing/​replacing 9 silver fillings. —- Dr. Glaros rem/​repl 2 upper left molars in 2001, and they are still fantastic today 2015. BUT, due to his expense $ 200 – 300 higher, and I was facing 7 other replacements, I went to another dentist — who was negligent in reckless removal, did not tell me his cerec machine (to build in-​house crown) was broken, rem. 5 fillings in one day with a temp. (Had I known his machine was broken I would only have done 2. Now 15 yrs later, I just found 3 holes in those 2 he did (I walked out on the other 3 and did not allow him to install them) have now caused so much decay and broke (which I signed a notice that porcelain can break, but I DID NOT KNOW they could allow holes for bacteria filling for decay, or I would have been getting x-​rays every year.) Now I just don’t have to get 2 new crowns, I am possibly losing a molar to decay, not enough left of the tooth to hold a crown, and the 2 adjacent crowns will be the bridge, and one with a root canal. Another $ 4,000. I thought once you get a crown, how can you get a cavity. Dentist need to explain this to patients so they can get x-​rays annually to check for this. ******** There are 2 other L. lower molars than will need new crowns and hopefully no root canals because of decay. And another R. lower crown was made in the lab with too large of a ‘crown’ and it broke of ¹⁄₃ of the edge, the rest is still stable, but will need replacing and hopefully no decay. ******************** Dr. Glaros is expensive BUT WORTH IT. GOOD WORK IS NOT CHEAP, AND CHEAP WORK IS NOT GOOD! Invest your money in Dr. Glaros, you will not be sorry — please don’t worry about the money, you pay for cable, your car repairs, your house remodeling/​repairs new tires your teeth need to last you a lifetime — use your money and go to Dr. Glaros. They are very friendly and professional. I had a plan laid out on paper with exact costs. And they work/​coordinate with a naturopath next door if you choose. Its not inexpensive, but its the best dentist and staff.

My visit/​experience was apparently very different than the other reviewers… maybe the staff saw the reviews and stepped up their game. I found Dr. Glaros via a google search for a biological dentist who safely removes amalgam fillings. From start to finish, the whole staff (including Dr. Glaros) was super nice, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and (most importantly) performed the procedure with precision and safety. I had all of my amalgams removed at once (I had 3) and because of the swollen-​ness of my gums, it was hard to check the alignment of the fillings. About a week later once the swelling had subsided, I could tell my alignment was off with one of the fillings. The staff was able to squeeze me in to re-​align my teeth within a matter of days, which was important because it was causing me to have headaches (no charge for re-​alignment). That was in October 2014, and I’ve not had any issues with my new fillings since.
One other additional thing I’d like to point out about them being money hungry is that one of my amalgam fillings covered a large part of my tooth. Dr. Glaros suggested the optimal choice would be a crown ($ 1500), but that he could do a ceramic filling if finances were an issue. The only problem is that the ceramic filling would, obviously, not last as long as a crown, especially since the filling would be on the outer edges of the tooth and not just the center of the tooth. Well, this was the best option for me because I was prepared to spend $ 2 – 3,000, not $ 4-​$ 5,000. He never pushed the crown option on me. I never felt a sense of «money hungry» from Dr. Glaros or his staff. In fact, I felt quite the opposite.

Where do I start?
Place looks great, clean, staff, nice but I felt they did not have the best interest of the patient and are just money hungry despite he is a Holistic and Green Doctor.
Dr Glaros recommended an unnecessary Inlays via his Cerec machine which is a procedure that cost $ 1500 vs a composite filling that cost $ 375.
I went to my local dentist for cleaning and xray. I have three amalgam fillings. From hearing all about the toxics and mercury vapors, I wanted to ge them replaced with Composite but following the IAOMT protocol. So I found Dr Glaros on the IAOMT website
I send the doctor my xrays that was taken 4 days ago to have them look. They ignored my xray and said we have to do a full examination and that will cost $ 295. They took 15+ xrays. The doctor did spend time with me before the examination but very little after. They key was what is the plan of action or go forward plan? He said I need three inlay and simply left. Doing research, you really need an inlay only when your filling is very large and little of the original tooth is there. Well two of my three teeth current filling is small. He has the Cerec machine for inlay, onlay and crowns which cuts the same shape you need to fit. This is truly necessary when your filling is large and have little structure. I felt he was not looking in the best interest of me, but in the best interest of his profits and his contract with Cerec. That mean he will need to grind or drill out your good tooth beyond just the decay. I will not go there again. Found a doctor in Austin that just fabulous.
