It’s OK if you want to quick fix but I was in and out with a pedicure in 30 min. However they are the cheapest $ 20 for a pedicure. So so job. We will see how it holds up Didn’t seem like she really wanted to do a pedicure for someone. And then the massage chairs are the most uncomfortable ones I have ever sat in. The ladies were nice and friendly. Which is a plus. I don’t think I would go back again because it doesn’t seem like they clean their stuff too well either I just put some alcohol on the utensils but they didn’t seem like they really sterilize them. They also seem to use the same file for everybody and not the new one

I came to this salon because I saw some good reviews on Unilocal.On a Saturday they didn’t require an appointment so I just dropped by.
Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed.
I paid for a pedicure and a manicure which was $ 30 all together. My manicure turned out alright, but my pedicure was a little messy.
The lady started painting my toes and then she just walked away just as I had noticed that she made a mistake on my big toe. She wasn’t using enough polish, so by the third coat it was a dry, jumbled mess. I was very confused as I was left waiting there and a new lady came and explained to me that she was «scared» to finish my toes because she didn’t want to mess up any further.
I understand making mistakes, however you don’t just leave and keep the customer waiting.
Their service was mediocre and so was the product. Also, they don’t have very vibrant colors. If you’re looking for a salon with a trendy collection and fantastic service, I suggest you look further.

Not a very good shellac manicure nor pedicure. Cuticles weren’t properly removed, nail polish looked as if a 10 year old painted them. The ladies were nice but I will not be returning. I am very disappointed, my nails look like crap.

I’m very gratious n easy to please – read my other reviews. Came here with my mom, she’s been here before and liked it. I guess I have higher standards.
Issues:
–I clearly said I wanted the basic pedicure, before I know it, my feet are in plastic bags with paraffin (feels great, but not what I asked for – upselling me on purpose or by accident?)
–Selection of trendy neon colors is basically nonexistent.
–Mom’s shellac did not look like the samples she chose AT ALL. She had to ask for color change a few times to get closer to the chosen sample color, then just gave up because of their limited English and just kept what they gave her.
–I look young and they treated my mom WAY better. They massaged her arms and legs longer. They were more attentive to her. They gave offered her water. I got none of that. We paid the same amount and I always tip well. Age discrimination is unacceptance for any business.
–TV was blaring on annoying LiveCNN court proceedings. I asked politely to turn it down, which they did, but shortly after it was blaring again – likely because of the older lady with walker getting manicure. Respect to old ladies, but let’s find some sort of peaceful compromise here.
Only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because they tried diligently to serve, just kept missing the mark. Giving me less of massage and treating me differently because I look young is really not cool.
I’m guessing this place is for older neighborhood ladies and based on how they treated me, I will not be back.
Conclusion: if you are under 35 and/​or like trendy colors, choose a better equipped place.

Great salon. Lots of extras without the extra costs. Many shellac and colors to choose from. Mary is really nice and follows instructions perfectly. Y&B is great.

Mary is one of my favorite people — we didn’t realize she’d left another spa that we’d been going to for years. On a whim we stopped by and found her!
The spa is small and simple, but extremely clean and there’s no ‘nail salon’ smell to it. I got a spa pedicure and the leg massage was wonderful. Great prices and friendly service. I will definitely come back here. Hoping to have time for a nice manicure next time I visit!

Visited Y&B Nails today and it was the best nail salon experience I’ve had since moving to Houston a year ago. I work in the downtown area and have tried a few nail places around there, but all have been overpriced for the quality of service.
The ladies at Y&B were really sweet and not pushy at all. I got a deluxe spa pedicure which included a paraffin wax treatment that left my feet skin really soft! During the session I actually received a relaxing massage, unlike the pricier ‘day spas’ I’ve been to who advertise it, but don’t follow through. Also, there wasn’t an overwhelming chemical smell that some places have.
Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing experience at a great price.
