Nice people, great service, reasonable price. Hard to find if you don’t know where it is (straight back from Long John Silver’s on highway 73, East of I-​75).

Great mechanics, accomodating and fairly priced. This is the place in Dayton to go!

A local tire shop referred me to Schmidt Auto. My transmission failed and a friend was working on my vehicle, unsuccessfully. Erich took the time to listen to my nasty noises and troubleshoot with me at no profit to him. A few weeks later, my friend still couldn’t get the tranny fixed and I decided it was time to take my car out of my friend’s garage and in to Schmidt.
Erich explained my problems and showed me the cause of the malfunction. Furthermore, he spent time with me and explained what I can do at home should the problem reoccur.
This week, the culprit reared its head again. I tempted my hand at tending to the tranny, but was having trouble. I went to Erich and he gave me the tool I needed to finish the job!
If you can find a mechanic that will show you what you need to do to maintain your tranny at home and then give you the tools to do it yourself, then I think you’ve found a winner.
The garage appears well maintained. Schmidt is personable and professional. He made me feel respected (unlike those condescending mechanics). Schmidt Auto will be getting my future business without a doubt.
