Bought their Living Social Deal for Mini Golf and Custards. Wow! What a smokin’ deal that was! Fun mini golf near the river. Head back up the steps after for their delicious custard! Well worth the trip 2 Turnpike stops away!

Ummmm… so custard… was anyone else not aware how freaking delicious it is? I mean, granted, my experience with custard is solely based on the custard that I get at Rita’s with my gelati, so I had no idea there was a whole other world of «real» custard out there. I’ve been missing out! But man. Yeah. Custard… like ice cream on steroids… thicker, richer, creamier. Glen’s apparently makes their own and it’s evident… super high-quality, flavorful, decadent… where has this been all my life? This place is popular, but the lines move quickly. I’ve gone a few times and tried several flavors… my favorite are cookies and cream, cake batter, and peanut butter pretzel. I’ve also had their brownie sundae, which is just as delicious as it sounds and totally worth the caloric devastation. They have a bunch of other specialties that look delicious too(umm…homemade apple crisp with custard? Yes please!)…so I can’t wait to keep trying more custardy treats! Credit cards are accepted with a $ 5.00 minimum. It’s located outside of Pittsburgh up Route 28, but it’s definitely worth the drive. I only wish that they would provide free custard for your pooch like Rita’s does. They do have doggie dishes, but they charge like $ 2 or something for them… which is too much for a little bit of custard. It’d be a nice gesture to throw in a tiny complimentary scoop for our furry friends on a hot day :)

My family have been Glenn’s fans for years! I will go out of my way to make a trip there, it is absolutely worth it! They have tons of options, but I always get a triple– two chocolates with a vanilla in the middle. Chocolate and vanilla custard are always available, but they have special flavors that they change up. Last year I had pumpkin custard that I paired with the vanilla. My mom swears by the strawberry(when it’s available) Not much else to say except that it’s really really great custard!

Custard smokes ice cream. I’ve never gotten past choosing vanilla. So good.

What can be said about Glen’s. It is a Springdale legend with great custard! I have been there a few times and am never disappointed. I got the strawberry custard in a cone and it was very flavorful and creamy. My fiancé got the apple crisp with vanilla custard and that was even better! If your in the mood for mini golf they have a pretty nice course. I didn’t play but saw others enjoying themselves. Great place for a summer treat

I’ve been to Glen’s a few time over the years, now as one might assume it is for the frozen custard,(which is good… more on that later) but rather for the minigolf. I very much enjoy an evening on their mini golf course which isn’t flashy but has some nice fun holes on the course. There is a waterfall and a man made stream running through the course that gives a nice ambiance to the otherwise plain looking course. The custard in and of itself is great. However Ice Cream places should always rate very high since there should be positive happy memories on a day you take the family for ice cream.

Glen’s is, hands-down, the best place for a frozen treat in all of Pittsburgh! There is a certain ritual involved with waiting for Glen’s to open for the season — looking at the sky for blue, feeling warm sun on your skin, wondering if there’s a line. And now – I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing for us – Glen’s accepts credit/debit cards! I’ve never tried the mini golf but I have made dozens and dozens and dozens of trips to Glen’s in my lifetime. Now, I get to enjoy starting a new tradition with my own family.

There custard is good, and prices reasonable. I don’t live close to this place I would only go there if I’m in the area. Love there Brownie Sundae a must try, if you go there!

I rarely get to Glen’s because of the travel distance, but it is always a treat.

Custard is wonderful I recommend the Brownie sundae with peanut butter pretzel custard. Service not so great might have just been my luck of the draw young High school kid with snotty attitude. I’ll put up with it for the best custard in the burgh.

I am very glad that Glen’s is far from where I live. Otherwise, I would be spending a lot of money and gaining a lot of weight. I travel to Cheswick about once a month and always stop. All of the flavors are great but never pass up the raspberry when they have it. Lines can get long but it is always worth the wait. There are several really good ice cream shops around Pittsburgh but Glen’s is by far the best in Southwestern PA.

Glens does have good custard. It’s «famous» for a reason. But recently one of the younger employees was given a $ 20 for only a couple of dollars worth of ice cream. He was jumpy and very rude. He folded up the change, which I assumed was my proper change, and handed it to me without looking at me. The next morning I realized he had only given me $ 5 back, which explained his odd behavior. I called the manager on duty and was told that they would look into it. Upon visiting in person and speaking to someone else, I was again told the same thing.(No one asked for my name, phone number, or anything else, making it clear that«looking into it» likely meant nothing.) I didn’t expect to be refunded but if the staff members I had spoken to would have seemed even remotely concerned by this or had provided proper customer service under the circumstances, I wouldn’t be writing this review. In my previous 10+ years of experience at Glens, I was always pleased with the wonderful customer service from the young staff. I’m sure this was a one-time thing, but just to be safe, as I don’t know if that particular employee is still working there — be sure to check your change before walking off with your frozen treats.

Glen’s Custard is delicious. I’ve only had the vanilla and the cookie sandwiches but they both were amazing. Nice and creamy and the perfect thing on a nice warm day.

I work not too far from here and given how GOOD this place is, It’s a wonder I haven’t put on 30 pounds in the last 10 years. Glen’s is an institution and with good reason. First of all, they’ve withstood the test of time — people keep coming back — for generations. At first I thought it was a trick, they must put something addictive in their custard, right? But no! It’s just straight up out of the park good. I didn’t know the difference between custard and ice cream at first(custard has egg yolks) but knew that Glen’s just tasted better. Now I understand why. But I’ve been to other«popular» custard stands and they don’t quite measure up. So maybe Glen’s DOES put something in there! They typically have three flavors of their basic custard, chocolate, vanilla, and a rotating flavor of the day which could be butterscotch(count this as your lucky day if it is!!!), butter pecan, peach, or a host of other flavors. They also have gourmet custards but the originals are just too good to stray. Even vanilla makes a mockery of the«plain vanilla» expression. Yummy. Their Glenwich cookie sandwiches are awesome too — two cookies with custard in the middle. Wow. I have taken many a 6 pack of those home over the years. Another thing I like is that Glen’s stays open till late in the year too. None of that closing at Labor Day nonsense. So when I’m cravin’, I’m heading to Glen’s for that smooth, velvety richness that is that soft delicious custard. Don’t settle for ice cream when you can have Glen’s. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Ice Creammmm! This is one of my favorite places to visit when I come to Pittsburgh, the frozen custard is just amazing! This little ice cream place is seasonally open only so you only have a limited amount of time to come here. I usually order the choolate custard with rainbow sprinkles mmmm :) My little sister always orders the marshmellow sundae which is also very very tasty! I would recommend this place to any Pittsburgh visitor! Bring cash if you plan to visit here.

Wow, great frozen custard… nice and thick and rich! Yum! Glen’s has vanilla, chocolate and favor of the day. Had Cinimion bun and chocolate. Oh So Good! They have different specialty flavors every day. Custard is similar to ice cream with cream and sugar but also has eggs. Other items including a Glenwich… custard between 2 chocolate cookies! Maybe next time! Cash only.
