My boyfriend and I had a fantastic private rock climbing session with Josh! I had only been climbing in gyms at that point while my boyfriend had experience both in and outdoors. Josh was very personable and provided a few options for nearby climbing spots. We opted for a little-known area outside Zion National Park, where Josh showed us the routes and took turns belaying each of us. He put my mind at ease since it was my first time climbing outside. All in all, the guided tour took about four hours. It was a very easy process to book and confirm online. I would highly recommend this company for first-time and seasoned climbers!

My husband and I decided last minute that we wanted to do some rock climbing on our last day in Zion. After calling all of the«big» companies in Springdale we finally found Rock Odyssey via Google and gave them a call. I first spoke to Zach who was super accommodating and was able to book us a half day trip with less than 24 hours notice. We were picked up by Chad and drove out to Kolab Terrace. Chad was super fun and was able to challenge us with some good climbs. Although I am bit terrified of heights, Chad definitely made me feel safe! I may not have made it to the top of all of the climbs, but I sure had fun! And so did my husband. even though he did make it to the top with ease :)

My teenage daughters and I spent half a day with Chad in the rock formations outside Zion. My daughters had done some indoor rock climbing but were beginners outdoors, so Chad got them started with some great climbs that were challenging and yet doable. We also did some canyoneering and some rapelling; although I am not overly fond of heights, Chad did a great job pushing the boundaries on what we thought we could accomplish. We had a great time.

Pros: –private trip –very new gear/shoes/gloves –Zach is super helpful/patient/encouraging –tailored trip We signed up for a half day trip but wanted to do a bit of rock climbing and canyoneering. Zach was happy to do a trip with a mix of both which was great. We did about 2 climbs and 5 rappels in Kolob Terrace(about 30 min drive out of Zion Canyon). The view up top was beautiful and as it was a bit further out, there were less people(only a few other people climbing as well). Definitely a fun day activity to get away from the crowds :)

My two friends and I decided last minute that we wanted to end our Zion trip with a bang. We gave Rock Odysseys a ring and they were able to accommodate a half day trip for us 2 days prior. We were picked up by Zach(the owner) outside of Zion National Park and drove 30 minutes out to Kolab Terrace to start canyoneering! We’ve never done canyoneering before but expressed that we wanted to be adventurous and Zach tailored our request to exactly what we wanted and more. He provided harnesses, helmets, rope, and even a helmet for our GoPro. He was thorough in explaining safety instructions and was very attentive to us if we were shaky on some rappels. We all rappelled down the tallest rappel peak called the«Boyscout.» This required us to do a little rocking climbing to get to the base where the views were amazing! We did a total of 6 technical rappels throughout the 5 hours we were out there, crawled through narrow cracks in the canyons and hiked up to gorgeous lookout points to rappel from. I highly recommend his company if you want to have a safe, fun and rewarding canyoneering experience. Zach is very friendly and is always making sure you’re having a great time. Him and his team are very efficient and accommodating to your every needs. Next time I’m out there, I’m definitely going to do the Rock Climbing course with Rock Odysseys!

Climbing with Zach made my trip as Zach really knows Zion inside-out. Zach is very friendly, extremely patient and most importantly, very professional when it comes to equipment use and safety. He will show you to the coolest spots, and teach you the right techniques for everyone from beginners to experts. Overall an extremely enjoyable experience and would highly recommend everyone to find Zach when you’re out there.

Awesome experience. The owner, Zach, was fantastic and took my wife and 12 year old daughter rock climbing and repelling. High light of the trip and well worth the money. Would definitely do this again. They take you as a private group and don’t mix you in with others you don’t know. They have nice new climbing shoes and harnesses & they provided door to door service from our hotel in Springdale. Experience climbing was not need but we had done some indoor climbing in the past. Definitely calling them again when we come back.

Finding Zach and Rock Odysseys was like the cherry on top of a large ice cream for our visit to Zion! My family and I(mother, father and brother) had been exploring Zion National Park on our own but wanted an adventure to boost our experience. We are a pretty outdoorsy family with no trained skill so we definitely needed someone to help guide us through, and there Zach came to the rescue! He took us to the outskirts of the National Park in some bada$$ slot canyons to do some repelling and climbing. We had so much fun, Zach was an amazing tour guide, knowledgeable and made us feel very safe and comfortable. He even guided my scardy cat mother through the whole experience, who left with a huge smile on her face. We loved him and you will too!
