Shelby Lynns Cake Shoppe

Cake tastes good but it was not the cake I ordered. The cake shop should have notified me (bride) that they would not provide the cake we agreed on.

We ordered a cake here for my 3 year old. The cake was really good. It was amazing. Taste amazing too, weird my friends & family like the cake better than the cupcakes. They said it cake tasted way better than the cupcakes I ordered with the cake.
Service was horrible. I felt so weird trying to decided on the cake, no help or suggestions, felt like the were rushing me out the door. Maybe they were busy in the kitchen. Idk. I wanted certain colored cake but they can’t do it. Kills the vibe of wanting to come back here & I’m a big supporter in buying from locals.

I don’t know why everyone did not give this place 5 stars! If there is a better cake shop than this joint, it only exist in heaven! It does not get any better than this… PERIOD! Thanks, Jennifer!

I am sorry that you did not find what you were looking for. Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe is a custom cake shop, we believe in quality over quantity. We thrive to design and execute beautiful and tasty cakes, but we definately need notice to do this. I am sorry that you will not be planning a future visit with us. You are correct, planning is the key to getting a unique and personnal confection from us, so we do need a bit of notice. We are a small team of artists, not an army of uniformed bees, personal service is very important to us and we would love to accomadate your requests if given a fair chance to do so!

I visited on a Saturday morning hoping to find a ready made cake to bring to a party. What I found:
No one was working the «sales floor». In fact, there didn’t seem to be a sales floor. The impression I got is that this is a special delivery bakery only. All I have is my experience in a single visit. Since I don’t plan to go back, I wanted to capture my findings.
Service:
Although someone came from the back to help me, I was clearly a distraction from the apparent decorating job that she was doing in the back. There was no attempt to accomodate or even suggest a future visit.
Food:
I selected a few petit fours that were on display in the small case. They were very tastey and uniquely decorated. I bought one dozen assorted and didn’t have the same decoration on any of them.
Watchout:
My experience was that this is not a shop for the average consumer looking for a unplanned confection. There are may alternatives if you want to do something special without costing a fortune or planning ahead several weeks.
Worth seeing:
For special occasion cakes with pre-​planning involved it is worth checking out the show room to get design ideas. The baker in this shop has been involved in several Food Network challenges. There is definitely great design capability here.
