The food was good, but the service was poor. At lunchtime, we good seated and ordered our drinks and food in normal fashion. The food was delivered pretty quickly. After that, the waiter acted like we didn’t exist. The food was good. But I have a hard time with poor service. All you have to do is stop by one or two times to check on the customer. I needed a refill on a drink and couldn’t get one. At the end, the waiter apologized saying he spaced out and forgot about us. Not good.

Was hungry for pizza and got exactly that. I had the Margarita pizza and husband had meat lovers. The fresh monzerlla cheese was good but both pizzas were soggy in the middle. Had to eat with silverware. In my opinion you should eat pizza with your hands. The staff was friendly and nice and the beer was ice cold. So 2 thumbs up for that. Would give the place another try.

Reviews weren’t great, but we tried it anyway. So glad we did! Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. Was concerned that the menu seemed thin. Kids Mac and cheese — not from a box! Artichoke burger — to die for — and huge so come hungry! Ravioli of the day was Butternut squash with Alfredo — not boring! Local beer selection was great. Not overpriced!

The pizzas are very creative, however their crust is very underwhelming, even for wood fired pizza. They have a respectable better selection of local brews. I’m very appreciative of restaurants that support local breweries, which in a location such as this can be difficult because it’s remote. They had a very good beef burger aided by the close proximity of ranches. The service was respectable, and quickly remedied their one offering error without hassle or charge. All in all a very good spot for a dinner while on vacation and exactly what the town needs. Affordable, welcoming, and filling.

The food was amazing! Nice beer selection, great hummus/pita appetizer and two monster BBQ burgers for the entrée. The staff was friendly, too.

Greasy pizza dripping oil. If you like pizza smothered in heavy grease and are willing to pay for it then you’ve found the right place. Good luck with your hike; bring an extra human waste bag just in case.

About the pizza I ordered at flying monkeys, 1. There was no salt in it 2. There was no pizza sauce in it 3. There was merely any cheese 4. No flavour at all 5. Finally, it was not a pizza at all * the service was also not good *

I have had my fair share of burgers, but this is without a doubt one of the very best burgers that has ever entered my mouth. The Flying Monkey is a cool restaurant to hit up after a day filled with camping and hiking. Next time I’m in Zion, I’ll definitely be back for more. S/O to G!!!

Good pizza. We ordered take out and the crust was perfect and crunchy with a little pull. The bruschetta was awesome. Nice selection of craft and local brews. The other reviews slammed this place. I told the girl there and she said they just hired new people. Give it a try and don’t be too picky

We are in town for the weekend and when our #1 choice was closed, we opted to try this place. We walked in the door and the entire place was empty(which was a bad first sign) except an employee behind to bar that didn’t bother to acknowledge us(an awkward move when she’s the only other person in the empty room). We double checked the window to be sure they were actually open and confirmed that we were visiting during regular hours. We literally had to directly speak loudly in her direction and finally got her to glance our way. She responded with, «Yes?» We left because she created the most uncomfortable environment that I’ve experienced in a restaurant in the area before. I almost thought maybe we were in one of those Dick’s restaurants where they are purposefully rude. The only reason we would ever visit this place again would be to identify her by name and contact the manager.

A Greek salad without lettuce?! Yes folks, that’s what I got when I ordered to-go here at 5:00 pm on a Tuesday(11÷24÷15). Not a busy crowded dinner shift — I swear I was the only person in the place at the time of pick-up. When I called back to complain no one picked up the phone when I called from my cell and it said the mailbox was full(I had gone back to my hotel room already and was in no position to take the meal back). I go to Zion NP every year and have been to the other pizza place in town and not had a problem there. The pizza was ok but getting a salad without lettuce is inexcusable. Never, ever am I going to eat here again!

Our family came here after a long day of hiking at Bryce Canyon after the drive back to our hotel in Springdale. There wasn’t much open and after seeing the sign outside for wood fired pizzas, we decided to go here. We sat outside and apart from the family with the teenage girl having a meltdown, it was quite pleasant and definitely a beautiful place to catch glimpses of some of the rock formations. Three of us had salads to start and we shared three pizzas. The salads were nicely done, not too large. We shared a sausage, margherita and bbq pork which were better than I expected, particularly the bbq pork — all thin crust and cooked just the right amount. While this wasn’t world class pizza, it was plenty sufficient for our hungry family in a small town after a long day of hiking. My wife loved a UT temperanillo recommended by the waitress and I enjoyed a local amber ale. Outside of the teenager’s meltdown, my biggest complaint was the service. For two thirds of our meal, the waitress was extremely unfriendly and giving the vibe that she really had no interest in helping us. Only for the last third of our meal did she change her attitude and then was very friendly and pleasant. For the three pizzas, starter salads and 2 drinks, out bill came out over $ 100 which I did think was a bit on the high side.

Yes, we came here because we admire the name. We saw this the night before but decided to go to to another famous restaurant there. So we came here for lunch the next day. We ordered margarita pizza and chicken wrap. The pizza cannot beat NY pizza but still good, perfect crust. Chicken wrap is a different story. I’ve tried many chicken wraps in NY but nothing like the one I had at The Flying Monkey. OK Chef, gimme your secret here. I came all the way from NY without any secret recipe? Not fair! *:p I’ll come back for another wrap the next time our trip brings us to Springdale. Our waitress of the day, Robin, was attentive and pretty good with the food. Her recommendation will bring us back to Utah for more. Btw, don’t ask me how they got the name, I didn’t see any flying monkey there, nothing flying there, you are safe! Enjoy!

Total crap. Came in on a Saturday late afternoon after hiking all day. The place looked unkept but most places weren’t open yet for dinner so we decided to try it out. We waited to be seated which was weird since there was no hostess and the place was near empty. Went to the bathroom and the door wouldn’t lock so had to have my Mom keep watch! Waited a good ten minutes for the waitress to take our order. We ordered a salad and pizza with certain toppings. They both came out at the same time more than 10 minutes later. They forgot a topping(spinach) on the pizza. I informed the waitress and instead of apologizing she said she could bring some raw spinach on the side lol! They never refilled our drinks. 30 $ for a pizza and salad?! Total crap. Don’t eat here go to oscar’s café instead!

I really expected more with the price points at this place. We both ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken salad. Sigh. Where to start: — The chicken was not crusted with anything. It was straight up grilled chicken that looked exactly like the chicken on all the other salads. There was NO Parmesan on this that we could tell. — The dressing was ranch dressing that tasted fresh from a bottle. — What constitutes a salad? This one only had spinach, tomatoes, and a few onions. — There were far far too many tomatoes — The«focaccia bread» actually just tasted like pizza crust, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what it was. The only saving grace at this place was our waitress. She was such a doll. She made us a bowl for our dog’s water out of a take out box… so sweet. I would suggest to the owner: If you are going to advertise a «Parmesan crusted chicken salad» than please, serve one. We had a grilled chicken salad. If you go here, just get the pizza, that’s what they seem to be good at.

The flavor was there but everything here is quite salty and burnt. The person working the woodfire stove burnt our pizza! The bottom was all charred. Since the wait was so long, we decided to eat it and pick off what we can. The sandwich/panini was pretty good. but super salty with all those beefy flavor. Waitress was okay, not super friendly nor attentive. I was THIRSTY! Parking was abundant though and the restaurant looked as if it was in the middle of a remodel.

Located in the town heading into Zion, this place has a surreal surrounding. During the day it’s hugged by mountains — giving it such a spectacular look. We came in at night though — and it was cold. Real cold. Inside it was nice and toasty. There were a few tables taken — and one huge table with a family in the middle taken up. Not bad for a weekday. They had what I can only assume are the two daughters working — along with the mom. Mom got us the drinks — the girls got us menus/brought out food. The little one was so darn cute. She handed me the menu and when we said thank you — she walked a few steps away — looked back at us and said, «YOU’REVERRRYYYYWELCOME!» haha adorable. I got the burger — it was alright. Nothing out of the ordinary — just a pretty basic burger. The wife got pizza — margarita. It was good(you know I had to take a bite). We had some slices leftover and took them back to the hotel — but unfortunately never got around to eating them. Overall this was a good spot to come in, grab a bite — with friendly staff — right outside of Zion. If you are staying in the town — and don’t want to drive far, this is a good option for dinner.
