RUN from this place! The «owner» Casey is extremely RUDE, condescending, UNPROFESSIONAL & a CON ARTIST! I wish there was an option for zero stars! Here’s my experience:
I was invited to a Burlesque dance class held on ⁴⁄₂₈ by a friend who’d been to a previous class at Vertical Pole Studio. My friend didn’t have a great experience in her 1^st class but thought it was possibly a fluke & wanted to give it a second chance.
On Sunday 4÷26÷15, I registered on the company’s website & received an email (attached) saying I could sign up for 5 classes for $ 35 but the email didn’t mention how I could take advantage of the offer. I called the studio & left a message but didn’t receive a phone call by Tuesday’s class at 6:30pm. Nevertheless, I told my friend that I would go to the class, so I paid the full price of $ 15 for it. When I arrived to the studio 10 minutes prior to the class, I showed the email to the owner and asked how to redeem the offer. She immediately became rude & defensive and told me that it «was very simple to find & didn’t know why I was having such a hard time. No one else has had these problems.» The room is full of students at this point. I handed her my iPhone and asked if she could direct me to where I could redeem the offer but she couldn’t find it. And the offer was now 5 classes for $ 49. She then told me, «there’s nothing I can do for you. I have a class to teach! You should have called if you were having problems. That offer was for new students & you’re no longer a new student because you’re taking this class.» What a SCAM! She knew she was being deceptive, otherwise why have such a bad attitude? Once I told her that I had called and left a message on Sunday, she replied, «well I have to take at least one day to be with my family. Surely you can understand that.» She could have returned my call on the Monday before the class but professionalism is obviously not her forte.
After all of the back & forth, she then says with a condescending smirk on her face & tilted head, «Well you obviously REALLY wanted 5 classes for $ 35 but I hope you enjoy the class.» I walked away in disbelief & prepared to begin. After all I’d been through to this point with Casey, I took the class & it was BORING and outdated! Did not enjoy it at all! We learned the routine quickly & afterwards Casey asked for my phone number, in front of an audience, in a weak attempt to pretend to try to make things right. The damage has already been done & I will never patronize this business & I urge you to save your money as well. Casey has NO RESPECT for her customers!
