This is a nice alternative hike to the crowds at Zion National Park. We attempted to hike in February and there was a ton of snow on the ground and road was closed about 1 mile from trailhead. We put on our micro-spikes and headed up to trailhead. There was about 2 – 3 feet of snow covering the trail, so we had to turn around. Snowshoes were needed! I will return again in the spring and make another attempt. Our original plan was to hike this trail up to Lava Point. Scenery in the area is beautiful!
