If you live near the Springfield/Davisburg, White Lake or Holly areas and are looking for a short diversion with the kiddies, consider taking a drive to «downtown» Davisburg and visiting the smallest beach ever in Oakland County. A micro-beach, really. On a pond. Very cute and hidden. It’s located right next to the Hart Community Center. My toddler and I manage to hit this area and have the place almost to ourselves most times. Particularly during the early afternoons. As small as this beach is, they still have 2 sections of cordoned-off buoy rope thingies to separate wading and swimming sections for small children. The beach itself is contained in a metal fenced in area. There is a shaded pavilion with a # of benches just outside the fence. Closeby there is a gazebo, a little fishing pier, shuffleboard area, horseshoe area, basketball court, volleyball court(I believe) and an okay-sized playset. If you cross the street /railroad track, there is an area kept up by the local Rotary(or some such organization) that has a small wooden bridge by a water wheel and a small waterfall. They have a couple open air picnic benches and small pavilion here too. There is a little hidden grassy area on either side of the bridge where the water streams down that is pretty neat. You’ll see unexpected wildlife at times. Make a day of it and visit the Springfield library very close by and work in a library event They have a nice little kids area and another park to the left of it that has a larger playset and pavilion with benches. The bathroom there is clean, modern and they even supply diaper changing covers in the fold down changing table. Nice touch. You can hike to a little hidden area in the back past the pavilion and walk down a narrow path to a small lake. There are a couple of picnic benches back there too. That lake seems fishing worthy. I did notice some walking paths towards the back. Did not venture there. There is something called Davis Lake Overlook that I would like to find. It would be nice if they could provide a map board or something. They have little BBQ grills scattered about at all of these places as well, but it’s probably best to pack a lunch. There is a store in the«downtown» area, but no real restaurants. You can walk through«Downtown Davisburg» and that will take all of 5 or 10 minutes. Springfield Oaks park is also nearby and is home to the Oakland County annual county fair.
