An amazing dessert!!! One of the best memories of my college days in Springfield. I can’t wait until they get to California.

The straw-ana is very creamy and delicious. It comes with sliced bananas and a strawberry sauce. The place has no inside seats. Only option is to eat in the parking lot.

The good: my small cone was very good, custard tasted fresh, and the location looks really nice and has a good size parking lot. The bad: terrible drive thru planning. It warns you that it’s a sharp turn and man they don’t lie. The guy in front of us had to leave the line because he couldn’t turn his truck enough to make it to the window. Also, my fiancé got a thin mint concrete and it didn’t even look like they mixed it at all. It had all the cookie pieces sitting on top. She did a better job mixing it with the spoon by hand.

I’m pretty sure Andy got the recipe for his custard from god himself, because that stuff is amazing. I got the snow monster concrete, and I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a frozen treat so much in my life. Don’t just try this place, buy stock in it, because this is that good!

The best frozen custard anywhere. I’ve been going here for almost 25 years and still love it. Service is always excellent and they have something for every price range.

Deliciously creamy custard? Check. Tons of toppings? Check. Seasonal specials? Check. Andy’s was recommended to me from trusted locals, so I obviously had to give it a shot. I haven’t been doing much dessert lately, but since I was traveling, I decided to to give myself a pass. And since I’m a chocolate fanatic, the choice of custard flavor was a no-brainer. After scouring the list of potential toppings(and wanting all of them), I opted for the chocolate chip cookie dough. I had to order it as a sundae, since that’s the only way to get toppings(I guess?), but I don’t really care what they call it as long as it’s got the goods I’m craving! So I was served chocolate custard topped with an incredible amount of cookie dough pieces and a maraschino cherry. Yummo! I couldn’t even eat half of this baby because the portion was so healthy, but what I did eat, I enjoyed to the max. It’s been a long time since I’ve had custard, and Andy’s was the perfect re-entry into this world of creamy goodness. It’s definitely a «once every blue moon» treat for me, but I would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking to satisfy a sweet tooth.

If you are not a Springfield native then you need to make a stop by Andy’s. It’s frozen custard so it’s heavier and thicker than normal ice cream. The sizes are large(it’s hard to finish one alone especially since it’s so sweet). The cost is around $ 5 for a concrete so a little more on the expensive side for dessert. However it’s hand mixed and good quality. They are open year round. My favorite? Pumpkin Pie concrete that arrive near October and has an entire piece of homemade pumpkins pie in every concrete.

The best frozen custard in the world! Andy’s is consistent and has hundreds of flavors! Drive through and outside ordering. They have heaters outside for the cold nights and in the summer, better get here early! They get packed — fast! It’s not uncommon to see large groups in the parking lot either waiting to order, or enjoying the best frozen custard on the planet! I HAVE to stop every time I’m in town. The best! I get the Oreo Concrete. Hmmmmm. Mouth watering just writing this review!!!

My husband has waxed poetic many times on the virtues of frozen custard. My first experience with frozen custard involved a car ride with a cone in each hand and custard melting onto my arms. The second time around I resolved to get a cup and avoid any sticky mess. It was delicious, but of course I was recently spoiled for all but the most fantastic ice cream when I discovered the magic of your very own ice cream maker. That aside, Andy’s dishes out fresh and creamy(as opposed to icey) rich and soft ice cream. You can’t get proper frozen custard on the west coast, and I know this because I had a lengthy conversation with a transplant who was really craving it. Yep, frozen custard cravings can strike even in the dead of winter when it is 37 degrees out with a wind chill of next to freezing. That’s why there’s a drive-through.

Oh Andy you are and evil genius. They have 2 new concoctions so good you will trade your mother for them. The pumpkin pie concrete and the apple pie sundae. Sweet Mary mother of god they are amazing. I think the dirty little secret that Andy’s is hiding is that they put heroin in every concrete they push out the door. That is the only explanation why they are so good and make you crave them in the middle of the night. After having one you will wake up at 3:00am with the cold sweats needing your fix of sweet strawberry and pineapple jackhammer. The service here is outstanding and insanely fast. They don’t take your order until you get to the window and they still get it out to you in about a minute. They are awesome. The service is friendly and actually seem to like their job so it makes your experience very pleasant. Of all of the locations out there this one is the best. Do yourself a favor and try this one… then get the number of a good rehab place that deals with frozen custard addiction because you will need it.

Never had a bad experience here ! But I will say I try to stay away. It is not far from my house and so I have to practice a ton of self control because it is just so yummy ! Everyone in the house of course has a favorite, but I stick to the Strawana, it is amazing from the first bite to the last ! They have really good root beer too. I think we have ordered every concrete on the menu and have yet to get a bad one ! I love seeing all the family’s outside enjoying the ice cream, and each other. It is not too often now a days that you see people slowing down to enjoy the little things. Andy’s outdoor area(which is heated with massive heaters in the winter) helps with that. They keep it simple, which is the way it should be !

If you’ve never had frozen custard, you don’t know what you’re missing. This stuff is so much richer and thicker than regular ice cream(it has eggs in it). For some, this is too much, but for most it’s absolute perfection. Andy’s is different than most frozen custard places for a few reasons. Most places serve vanilla, chocolate, and a flavor of the day/week, etc. Andy’s, only serves vanilla, but they do it better than any other custard place I’ve ever been to. Andy’s menu has a wide variety of choices, with a massive number of toppings – and some seasonal ones that only appear on the menu a few times a year. The Jackhammers are completely unique to Andy’s. Sure Andy’s costs more than ice cream, but it’s worth it. This is the closest thing you can get to finding any kind of local frozen dessert in Springfield, and the portions are huge! This is the best frozen custard I’ve ever found.
