3rd time is supposed to be a charm~ but was a fail. More effort on our part trying to give the restaurant another chance for service and food.(a slow Sunday afternoon) Had to ask for pretty much everything including napkins. Wonder where in the policy manual it says it’s OK for employees to spit into the garbage can behind the bar. Giving the benefit of doubt that maybe it was gum, that’s still gross when it’s in public view next to our glass ware. We decided to give the rest of our business to the Roadhouse across the street.

I have to say that my experience here was terrible. The fact that my boyfriend and I just left the restaurant and I’m not wasting any time writing a review of them and their poor customer service should speak for itself. My boyfriend and I sat ourselves in the bar, waited for a few minutes, and then one of the bar tenders(shaved head, mustache, and dark eyebrows), walked over, asked what we wanted and then left our table and never came back. We were helped a second time, and this time we were brought our drinks. Neither of the bartenders were paying much attention to the customers(granted, the restaurant was quite empty). Our food took longer than necessary,(they were already behind). As my boyfriend and I were eating, I noticed that the shaved headed bartender was being trained by the other one… god only knows that I thought that both bartenders were new. When the manager came out from the back, all he did was looking around, he never asked any of us customers how are food was or how our experience was. Nothing. When it came time to pay, my boyfriend paid in cash, and the veteran bartender was talking craps about how he paid with a big bill. There’s so much more that I could write about, but I think that I have made my point. I will never eat at that Applebee’s again.

I went here with a friend for her birthday dinner, her choice. I had one of their specialty salads. It came in a massive bowl, but consisted of about one cup of actual food. It was so soggy, as if they drenched it in water(or worse) before serving it. My fellow diners all had burgers, and asked they be cooked medium. They were so rare, the blood was dripping out of them. All three had to send them back. I sent the salad back, but didn’t ask for anything else, I was sick to my stomach after one bite. On top of that, the server tried to tell my friends they asked for rare burgers! So we asked for the manager, who was as rude as our server. I only wish I had called the health department on them!

Last night’s dinner experience was atrocious. I will not be going back. My husband and I went out to Applebee’s since it was close to the mall and theater, plus we hadn’t been there in quite a while. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, which was fine given it was a Friday night at 6pm. Unfortunately, after waiting to be seated, we waited even longer to actually order. I was ready to walk out since no one could even be bothered to greet us and at least acknowledge our presence. A good waitress or waiter, even when busy, will at least stop and greet us, say hi, I’ll be right back to take care of you, whatever. Something to say they know we are there and they’re not ignoring us. I can totally work with that, because it’s obvious they are busy. But our waitress couldn’t even manage that. I had time to sit and read every single menu item and the description, the waitress took that long to even acknowledge our existence. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, we stacked the menus at the edge of the table and played on our phones. This should be an obvious sign we were ready to order. A pair were seated across from us and the same waitress addressed them within 60 seconds of being seated. I’m not sure why I had to wait 15 minutes. Our waitress was Veronica, and she was pretty much useless. She shows up at our table, out of breath, huffing and puffing like she’d been running a marathon. Nothing like trying to talk to a waitress through heavy breathing. She didn’t even ask us if we wanted anything to drink, or offer an apology for ignoring us. Just wanted to know what we wanted and kind of smiled and nodded her way through us ordering. She didn’t even bring any of our food. They were all brought by the expediters. Our hostess encouraged us to use the iPad like thing on the table to order appetizers and desserts. Which I find ridiculous. They try to pass it off as convenient for us, but it’s an excuse for a waitress not to do their job and have a machine do it for them, and then they still expect tips. The appetizer was dropped off by an expediter, without plates or even silverware. The attention to details like this, which should be basic customer service 101, was pathetic. No one even asked if there was anything else needed. They just dropped the plate and ran. The manager dropped off a coupon for a free dessert since our waitress didn’t try to promote some drink, and I asked him if he could go get me appetizer plates and silverware. He stops and stares at me like I’m totally retarded and had three eyes. Like he was too good to do a basic job like that. It didn’t help that he’s extremely overweight and doesn’t look like he likes helping the waitstaff much. He just waddles around and asks customers if everything is ok. A good manager is one who steps up wherever it’s needed, no matter how basic a job. I don’t think Tubby had that kind of work ethic. The food was ok. It was cooked to order. I had a pasta without the tomatoes and my husband had some sort of Cajun spiced steak, cooked medium rare. My pasta was bland and boring, but not inedible. My husband’s steak was cooked to perfection. I was impressed with that. So clearly the kitchen staff knew what they were doing. It was just the waitstaff that sucked. All in all, I doubt I’ll be back. I’m not impressed by the service, and the waitress is the face of a business. My husband is going to take the free dessert coupon and give it away since we have no intention of returning. Sadly this occurred on a Friday night, so even if we had walked out and gone somewhere else, we would’ve had to wait even longer just to be seated.

It’s an Applebee’s! Service good, food warm. Good selection of drinks. Right by Gateway Mall. They do change up their menu once in awhile which is nice. Good prices I like them for lunches! Enjoy!

Great service and friendly staff. Served quickly, and food was served hot. Server and manager stopped by several times to check in. Far better than most Applebee’s I have visited.

Food is okay. Wait staff is usually meh. nothing special. Had one experience where my sister couldn’t pay and they called me to come pay. I had barely had surgery and it took a while to get dressed and walk down to this location from where I live, since I couldn’t drive. I arrived and the waitress gets all rude, holding her hand out for the card and mentioning that it «took me long enough». And, then she got kinda snotty cause I didn’t give her a tip for waiting. Sorry, but I’m living off my savings– I can’t pay for your tip. Other times I’ve gone, it takes forever to get seating, staff kind of seems to linger around you when you write out your receipts for cards, and food has always been meh.

Why is it so hard to get a seat in this location. Bend or Medford sit you right away, last 3 times I went here I asked for a seat for 2 – 4 and every time I see empty tables but still am told it will be a few minutes. Meanwhile the staff turn away and talk about other things.

I’ve had several negative experiences at this restaurant. I won’t be coming back. It shouldn’t take 35 minutes to receive an appetizer when the restaurant is half empty. It would also be nice to get soda refills without having to ask each time. I have better experiences at Carl’s Jr. next door.

We usually have lunch during the week and like their lunch combos. But we stopped for lunch on Sunday and were very disappointed. Lunch combos are only available Mon. — Fri. so we ordered Fish and Chips and Chicken Tender Platter. Both had fries that tasted like frozen fries prepared in the oven at home. They seemed dry. The chicken was so dry it was hard to bite. The batter on the fish was golden on the outside but mushy inside. The new menu seems very limited, mostly appetizers and burgers. From now on it will be lunch Mon. — Fri. only.

Boy, was I disappointed! Ever since I saw the burger with hashbrowns, bacon, and egg on it, I had to have one. I’m a burger fan. Burgers with eggs are one of my favorites. I’ve had many. This one was, by far, the worst! The main problem was that the egg wasn’t fully cooked. I don’t mind a little yoke, but when I tried to cut the burger, uncooked egg white(a lot) and yoke squirted out into my plate and all over the table. That left a white ‘egg-ish’ thing on the burger with everything drained out of it. Also, that soaked the bottom bun making the burger impossible to pick up without making a mess. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The hashbrowns, fried onions, bacon, etc were very sparse. Nothing like the commercial or the picture in the menu. Also, this was supposed to come with unlimited fries. I’m not sure if it did or not, though. After being getting our food, we didn’t see our server until pay-the-bill time. Another thing that annoyed me(but may not annoy everyone) was the music being played. It was straight off the top 40 pop chart with a heavy lean into hip-hop. Maybe this was targeted to a demographic they want, but I found it very unrelaxing. We asked the server about it and, after checking with the manager, she told us it was set ‘by corporate’. Actually, that was helpful information. That tells me that I should just avoid ALL Applebee’s in the future. Good to know.

Truly one of the worst Applebee’s we have ever encountered. Raspberry tea was so watered down you didn’t know what it was supposed to be. Asian salad had chicken that was way past AARP qualification. Heavy breading on that chicken made it taste like flour not chicken. Bad time.

Walk in & there’s almost no one in the entire restaurant, order margaritas about 5 minutes after we came… Too bad they didn’t come for over 30 minutes! The waitress didn’t apologize or say anything about the wait — as a waitress, if that had happened at my work, I would have comped the drinks OR given a discount. Meanwhile a friends lemonade didn’t come for another 10+ minutes. All this time the manager is wandering around the bar on a phone for 20+ minutes then proceeded to pace the restaurant for the duration of our stay doing absolutely nothing. Once we received our food — about an hour or more after we’d been there, they waitress never came back to ask how anything was or if we needed anything else. Terrible service & I would NEVER return to this location. Possibly not to any Applebee’s at all though because it seems like they are running on their name now & not actually on how good they are — food was sub par for sure!

I’m not a huge fan of Applebee’s usually because of the quality of the food or depending on where you are, it tends to be crazy busy & loud. But OMG this is def a new one for me… #1. We have a 3yr old… Host didn’t even bother with a child’s menu, offer a booster or a high chair. Then looked lost when I asked him for a kids menu, as if the concept was just out of this world. #2. I got the quesadilla burger… Never seen it or tried it(it’s been 8 yrs since the last time I might’ve gone to Applebee’s), I don’t like fries and due to diabetic issues the«quesadilla» on the burger is plenty of carbs. I asked for a substitute«non carb» option… She offered me onion rings or mashed potatoes. She apparently doesn’t know what carbs are. I asked for a small side salad and she said it would be $ 2 more… I told her oh forget it and she still asked if I wanted the fries… I asked for the manager– I don’t think he was the«Manager»… I think I got the asst mgr… I don’t even want to get detailed about what that cocky lil man said… but basically if it’s about the $ 2.00 the he would pay that no problem– that’s not the«issue»… It’s just part of it. I asked the waitress if they had fresh peppers like jalapeños… I’m pretty sure the silence was deafening… She gave me a very BLANK look. She didn’t know if it was fresh or pickled jalapeños… OMG. Soooo anyway… #3. They brought our the wrong orders an then looked at us as if we magically made them wrong or we were dumb and couldn’t remember what we ordered… Waitress said«I guess I grabbed the wrong dish»… Umm yeah I’m pretty sure that is what it was… WOWZA! There’s a couple more things but — I will say, there are probably better Applebee’s in other cities or places… This one just happen to be in Springfield/Eugene and I’m glad I don’t live here anymore and this was the last time I would be eating there… Btw it was closest to Cabela’s and easy to park our 26“ft Uhaul and truck towing another car… That’s why we ate there.

Service can be hit or miss. Tonight has been good and the server Dallas is nice a patient. Some of the customers are annoying and treating a sit down restaurant like its Denny’s after midnight. There is no need to whoop and holler when your favorite song comes on as if we were at a dance club. Usually the food is good, but for what you get the prices are pretty high. Only go here every once in a while.

Seated right away by a guy who mumbled some words. Got menus and greeted by a nice lady. The seats by the window are under air conditioning. Got their alfredo, steak, chickenmushroom thing. Pics in the pic section. Food was okay and portions were super small. A little bit too salty, however. Nothing special especially for the price.

This place is ridiculous, we walked in and then a older couple walked in behind us, and we’re seated before us, so we left. The hostess said nothing to stop us and completely ignored us. I then called Adam the manager to complain and he said oh, ok and then proceed to say, I don’t know what you want me to say. Well that your hostesses is an idiot! We will never be back for there idiot staff members. Good luck going there the place is a fuckin joke.

We ordered chips and dip. The tortilla chips were fried in dirty grease and they tasted like chicken, smelled like fish. The manager replaced it for us but ICK and as a vegetarian, DOUBLEICK! Totally unexpected that my chips would reek of fish. We mentioned it to the manager, suggesting there be a veg friendly fryer for veg dishes and aps. He just said they don’t fry red meat in it so it’s fine. Great happy hour drinks, good ambiance, fair price it’s just that they’re pretty careless about food quality. I’d stop there for a drink after a movie at Gateway but not go there just for dinner.

It wasn’t my choice to eat here tonight I usually don’t care much for the food. The service is always great. The water tastes like plastic so order a drink of any kind. Or hey Applebee’s get a new filter on that Ish! I tried their new honey steak tonight and was quite surprised that I actually liked it. I almost finished it. So that’s my recommendation if you eat here.

This specific location is great because it’s right across from the movie theatre. They’re quick and friendly, so you can have a couple drinks and chow down before heading over to catch a movie. It is what it is, an evil corporate owned chain with unhealthy food choices. They pour a good drink though, which you can’t say about all those standard places. In the end they do a good job keeping the vibe a mix between a family restaurant and a sports-bar. If you don’t like standardized pre-prepped food, corporate sponsored cheerfulness or sports, you’ll probably want to not bother.
