Applebee’s

I used to love this place, especially their spinach salad, but went there a month ago and was extremely disappointed! They’ve totally changed their menu (no spinach salad available) and raised their prices (a lot). Won’t go back there again.

3.17.16 sad to say Applebee’s is back to their old ways. Dried out unsauced wings, beers not ice cold, salad was wilted, cheese sticks exploded, just an overall unappetizing meal. That’s $ 100 down the drain. Sigh…

This was the first time in 14 years I had been to an Applebee’s and it will be the last. The only plus was the server and the beer. One hour wait for food, over cooked burger, over done onion rings, dried out, meatless excuse for ribs, dirty table trivia machine, bathroom stall door with a sign saying not to close (apparently doesn’t reopen) and the manager apologized to more than just my table. She comped my $ 13 burger meal. Thanks. But if you’re gonna charge the trumped up prices for a shitty menu, at least do something right. Thanks, no thanks. This place sucks.

Order the 7oz special sirloin. it came out rubbery. they did replace it at no charge for a burger. nice people. nothing special. waitress did her job, but didn’t go the extra mile.

I’m almost embarrassed to give this place 4 stars, I mean, it’s freaking Applebee’s right?
I eat here because work puts me up in a nearby hotel so I can walk here.
I came here last month and had a Parmesan/​Shrimp Sirloin, it was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, overall great. I’m still floored by it because, it’s freaking Applebee’s right?
Tonight I had Bourbon Street shrimp and chicken, also amazing! What is going on here? It’s freaking Applebee’s, right?
The service isn’t horrible, they’re never busy so not much is slowing down the server from being quick with service.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’ll probably be back! I mean, it’s freaking Applebee’s, right?

8÷9÷15−−− Went there for the first time for my birthday dinner with my family. Server was so poor not only on the servers but the management as well. while being served the server dropped the pizza sauce on the floor which caused it to splatter all over mine and our family’s feet. when we finally got food they handed my father a bacon cheeseburger. He had ordered the classic. Manager came over apologized and retook his order. So everyone ate dinner and when we were finally done the manager comes back and ask my father to clarify if he wanted cheese on his burger. My dad said screw it take it off the bill which they did. Couldn’t believe that it was 20 minutes to redo a burger. Spent a total of 40 minutes waiting on a burger. Food was average but it was inexcusable. Sad we spent 85 bucks on a poor meal.

Gave Applebees another try– glad I did! The remodel made it brighter inside; less cluttered and dirty looking. The new menu with little plates are much more appealing!

Found black kinky pubic like hair in the fries we didn’t order. Tortillas were microwaved so long that they were inedible. Took several minutes to correct this. Manager on duty was informed and our server took our 2 iced teas off of the bill which was $ 32.
What kind of hair does it look like to you?

Very slow. Had to wait on food over half hour for lunch. Weren’t even busy. Server Nikki was nice. But wish I hadn’t come here. Soup and salad deal portions are so small anymore too!

When we were first seated it took 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. We made a HUGE mistake when the hosted brought our drinks to us and we asked what the specials were tonight, she laughed and said «I have no clue I’m the hostess» ad walked off.
Service is very slow we received our food 1 hour and 33 minutes after ordering
We stopped coming here years ago because of the service and thought we would try again after 7 years of avoiding this place. We might come back in another 7 years to see if they have sped up at all.

If you want slow service and over priced food, then come here!

Server was great but food was mediocre — stale chips –flat pop –very little BBQ on baby backs ribs –not what I’m use to from this Applebee’s

The worst food I have ever had in springfield… A sad representation of my hometown! I had the spicy nachos and they had salt on them! Disgusting! My cousin ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was extremely dry! And the service is incredibly slow and careless…

Need to speed up their service. I was by myself and only ordered a side salad and a basket of wings and it took almost 20 mins to get my food. Saw at least one person who ordered after me get their food before me. That is backwards.
Probably won’t be back because of the slow service and the fact that the music was just way to loud. I understand the that they are a bar & grill, but it was still to loud.

We chose to eat at this Applebee’s because it as next door to our hotel and we have had decent experiences in others of this chain. We would have been better to venture out in an unknown city and find something else!
We waited almost an hour for our dinner to be served. When it was brought to the table it was served by someone other than our waitress and she did not bother to check on our dinner until we were half done. One dinner should have been a medium steak, baked potato and vegetable, it was served well done steak (overly salty) with mashed potatoes and no veggie. The second dinner was a steak pasta dish that was cold. It was as if the second had set the entire time we were waiting. When the server did come to check we told her about the problems and her solution was to bring a baked potato and vegetable out and see about heating the other dish and offered dessert. At that point we had eaten half because we had been there way to long and were hungry. Who wants to have a potato and vegetable brought half way through dinner?
The management came after we refused the offer. He stood at the table and looked at us like we were being difficult to complain and not be satisfied with the previous solution. When I said I did not believe full price should be charged for a meal that was incorrect and missing items his reply was that he could adjust the bill after a long pause. The discount for missing and wrong items and an ice cold meal…$ 5 per dinner. Apparently the management does not value customer satisfaction or want repeat business!

Let’s start this off with I really DO NOT like Applebees, but this branch may have changed my attitude about it! We ordered there 2 for 20 meal deal and asked for the steak to be RARE, it came out damn near well done. They fixed it, and gave us free desert! Wow that is hard to find anymore! a manager who gives a shit! This woman said she was sorry and got desersts for us… what else could you ask for other than free food?!

Good food at reasonable prices. Nice deals on their lunch soup /​salad combo. Best item on the menu is the spinach shrimp salad with bacon dressing.

I used to like Applebees a lot growing up.
Then I hated it.
But then I had a gift card for me and my wife’s anniversary and I was pleasantly surprised with the food when we ate there just a week ago. I actually got an appetizer combo for my meal… everything was good. The Wonton Tacos were the bomb! Must have more!

A couple of friends and I met here for lunch. We were quickly seated and our server appeared in short order. The food was good, service was awesome and I hope I win the grand for doing the online survey. Not a bad choice in this area of Springfield.

I remember when Applebees opened in Springfield. Yeah, it was a big deal. We were all excited. Springfield was growing, a frontier just realizing her possibilities… ha.
Well, not exactly, but this restaurant really kick started all the development over in that area… even if it is a chain. My school bus used to go out through the area and it was all cornfields, now it’s all box store sprawl.
The food is decent. And they have half price appetizers after 10 PM, perfect for groups of people.
It’s not the best place in the world, but hey, whatever, it’s good for a late night hang in Springfield when everything else is closed?
