This was our first visit to Arris Pizza and not sure why it took us so long to discover. We went on a week night and the tables were almost packed. Good sign! We weren’t familiar with the thin crust Greek style pizza so spent some time looking over the menu. Finally decided on the House Special and got a cheese pizza for the grand daughter. Even though they were really quick in getting our pizzas to the table. First bite was like Wow! Totally different flavor than what we were used to but was really good. My first thought was — where’s the sauce? No heavy red sauce here. There was a slight hint of some sauce but the unique flavor of the ground beef and greek sausage, along with the red onion and cheese really came through. I didn’t even miss the heavier sauce. One of the owners, Tawny, stopped by to see how everything was. We told her is was great but I was surprised that there wasn’t any sauce on the crust. She acted a little surprised. She said sauce was mixed with the ground beef. New guy cooking so she had another pie made for us to take home so we could try it with the right amount of sauce. Very nice gesture. Needless to say, based on the overall experience we had and the quality of the food, we will be going back on a regular basis. It’s so nice to go to a new place and be wowed by the server, owner, and have a great meal.

My husband and I have been eating good at Arris Pizza for a long time. They have the best pizza and Gyro’s are the best in town. The Sunday Buffet is rather good also. I think if you enjoy pizza and Italian food you would want to check this place out at least once.

So, my review all boils down to taste, which might be just«in the tastebuds of the beholder». I have been to this place twice, and just can’t get excited. Nice folks, good service, and wonderful reviews. What’s wrong with me that I just can’t get excited about their bland pizza? Here’s my theory — I like spicy pizza, and most people do not, because most people really love this place. Even Brad Pitt. Go figure. I’m just not a fan of their sauce, which kind of ruins the whole experience. Enjoy your Arris Pizza y’all — I’m still looking for my «perfect pizza» in Springfield.

Their pizza is the best in town. Finally made it to their Sunday buffet. All you can eat for a reasonable price. If you can’t get to their buffet, ask about specials.

Fresh mozzarella made daily. Their crust is great too! I’d say the best pizza I’ve had in Springfield.

I rarely give 5⁄5 stars but this place was the BEES-KNEES! The server suggested 2 awesome pizzas and our little man enjoyed his noodles and meatballs. Super friendly to the family genre and the food was fresh, tasty and quick! Loved it… Probably will hit this up on our way through again!

Their Pizza is pretty good. Had the Athena and the Pandora pizza. One had Bleu cheese and one had feta cheese. I was pleasantly surprised. Pizza House is still the best in town but this definitely comes second. Will come back but one critique is that the owner(man) is rude and snappy. We almost walked out because of this. Questioned us and acted like we were dumb for wanting to pick the table we say at. He needs to remember that we are PAYING customers and without paying customers he wouldn’t have a business. I don’t know if he is normally rude and a micromanager(noticed he was on his employees constantly… which no one likes and your turn around will be huge when you treat them that way) or if he was burnt out our having a bad day. Anyways not everyone is meant to be in customer service. He might wanna just let his friendly employees take over and trust them a little.

Pretty good 9 times out of 10. I usually get their pizza. It’s thin crust and is easy to eat; not to mention tasty. They have a regular crowd but are always welcoming of newcomers. The garden salad is a good start. The homemade lasagna is pretty good to but I like my sauce a little sweeter… Come try it’ll become one of your regular go to’s. It has for me. Did I mention the pizza is great?

A super great pizza place in Springfield! I’ve only been able to visit a few times, but each time was awesome! Great food, service, and a sweet little separate bar area! Highly recommended!

I really like this place. Their pizzas are delicious and the offer some different toppings like their gyro meat. I actually really prefer getting their actual gyro than getting pizza here but it’s all good. Plus Brad Pitt likes to eat here. You just can’t go wrong!

Arris is always a fantastic choice for fresh and unique pizza. Their bruscietta is better than anywhere else. There are many pizza choices that you can go wrong with. Heat of Zeus, Hen House, or the sweet and spicy one(don’t recall its name). They also have great sandwiches. It is a bummer they don’t take reservations but they are always busy so it’s probably not nessessary from a business perspective. They have a decent beer selection from their bar next door. The staff are always friendly and egar to serve.

To be fair i had not eaten at Arris Pizza for about 8 years. I always remembered their Gyro was delicious but that I hated the pizza for a number of reasons. no flavor, no toppings, too thin. just not good. Now older and hopefully wiser I can say after last nights House Special pizza, I am an apologetic and now huge fan. The crust while still thin allowed the delicious toppings to take charge. The ground meat and tasty cheese was a perfect match. So is it wrong to say we ate half the pizza in the car before we even got home. The Gyro continues to be an amazing sandwich that is worth the trip alone. Will I ever be the biggest fan of thin crust pizza… no, but this is so good it just doesn’t matter.

Very good pizza. Unique and not quite like other styles. This place was actually recommended by another pizzeria with 4.5 stars which was closed when I called. High praise from a competitor! Why not 5 stars? These pizzas are expensive; plain and simple. We had a 3 topping large and a veggie(4 –5 toppings?) medium and the bill was $ 33…for 2 pizzas? Guess I should’ve asked if they had any specials! BTW, another reviewer called them St. Louis style pizza. Not sure where he got that idea but definitely not even close to that style.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I really like the Venus with gyro meat. When my brother comes to visit he almost always suggest we go here. I can see how some may not be crazy about this style of pizza, but I think it’s fantastic. I highly recommend coming here, for the great food and great service.

I was anti-Arris when I moved here because everyone raved about it and said, «It’s like St. Louis style pizza.» Traumatic memories of Imo’s and Cecil Whittaker’s consumed me, and I swore off ALL thin crust pizza for well over a decade. it took delicious chicago style thin crust pizza and places like Monical’s in central Illinois to convince me that thin crust didn’t have to be bad. That being said, I still swore Arris off, knowing that people associated it with St. Louis style pizza. Well, after 18 months of living here, I finally gave it a whirl a few months ago, and you know what? I don’t hate it. Nay, in fact I like it for thin crust pizza. It’s a thin crust, yes, but I feel like that’s where the comparison with St. Louis style pizza stops(and I should know; I grew up dreading the nights of St. Louis style pizza at my house with that glue-like cheese and the weird herbs and the, no I refuse to remember anymore!). The cheese may be a blend, but it’s closer to regular pizza cheese than it is to straight provel. The topics are fresh and to some extent unique(hello, gyro meat and greek sausage), and the sauce is, in my opinion, a good amount for a thin crust pizza. Overall, I’m pleased with myself for getting past my St. Louis style pizza fears and trying Arris because it is a truly viable option for thin-crust pizza in town.

Full disclosure, this was my first time eating St Louis style pizza, and while I generally love pizza of all kinds(Thin crust! Deep dish! NY! Neapolitan!) — this«pizza» gets a big NOPE from me. The crust was dry and floury(think a cross between a saltine and burnt naan) and the sauce/“pizza cheese”(don’t even get me started on the processed cheese on a pizza situation) combo had flavors reminiscent of anything attempting to be Italian served in elementary school lunches. I ate a piece while trying to talk myself into finding it edible but it just was not happening. While I’d normally call this a three star experience because hey, it’s not their fault that I am not into the style of pizza they specialize in, it’s going down to two because our server seemed completely ill equipped to handle the fact I was not digging the food. She came by to ask if we liked it — my dude was unsure, but still eating and I let her know it was not for me to which she just seemed shocked(I guess that doesn’t happen often?). The correct response would have been an «oh no, can I grab you a menu to see about something else?» I pretty much had to ask her for a menu as she walked away. Seriously, get this girl some training because I just remembered, she was also totally unknowledgeable on the beer list. We just wanted food and to get going so I quickly ordered a chicken pita, which at least didn’t take long to come out. It was ok– the pita bread was the soft, doughy kind you usually get at lower end Greek restaurants and it was filled mostly with veggies and a few pieces of chicken that were not very seasoned and a bit on the dry side. The tzatziki it came with was OK and definitely helped. It was edible, let’s just say that. I walked into a work conversation today about how everyone loves this place so much, so I’m happy to know that there is something here I’m willing to eat when they inevitably order lunch in.

We went on a Sunday, and it appeared that everyone did the buffet, but we decided to make our own pizza. Order the Bruschetta appetizer! We debated on it, but wow, it was incredibly good. For pizza, we did the Athena but altered the toppings. It was terrific pizza, very cheesy and stringy. The atmosphere is nice and fairly classy for a pizza place. The owner was working, and could not have been nicer! We were the last ones to leave since they close from 2 – 5 on Sundays, and she told us we could add any of the pizza left over from the buffet to our To Go box if we wanted to try any other kinds. Our waitress was very attentive and quite nice. We will definitely be back next time we visit Springfield.

Another polite nod of approval in the direction of Arris Pizza. I like the pizza because it reminds me of Pizza House’s — thin, salty, not saucy whatsoever — but at the same time, it’s a little bit more stiff than Pizza House’s. I’ve only been to Arris in the past year for its Sunday buffet, but it’s good quality pizza to get in quick succession. I agree with Ellen H. and friends that the ground beef pizza is unexpectedly awesome — it’s slightly, slightly spicy and generally well seasoned, not to mention the ground beef makes it a textural pizza dream. Two thumbs up. The salad bar isn’t too shabby either. What keeps me from suggesting Arris Pizza whenever my friends and I are craving pizza is partially the very very south location and the fact that it’s a little on the higher end of the price spectrum when it comes to local pizza; that being said, I’d never say no to going.
