Very cute place! The pommes frites were amazing – yum! Hen and pine crepes also delicious! My hubby had the meatloaf and my mom the«is it morning» crêpe and sweet potato mash. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. Fun atmosphere. Neat metal sculpture in the middle and bird theme carried throughout. Menu is heavy on French. Check comes in French storybook. Very cute! I’ll go back to try other options!

The Aviary Café is fabulous! Neither my husband or myself were disappointed with our food. They were able to accommodate my need to eat gluten free. Wonderful atmosphere and even better food! Go early or there will be a wait. Will be visiting again.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to have brunch and this place answered the call for sure. The chocolate sunshine crêpes had a hint of raspberry that really made them delicious, and our server was polite and helpful. I also recommend their house coffee, it was very bold, and accented the crêpes well. Lastly, they brought out the check in a small French children’s book, and guests could leave messages or draw in it. That was really neat and unique.

Every plate is Instagram worthy, usually provoking a soft-spoken,“Ooh!” during the tableside debut. The quirky vintage décor down to the words on the menu may help forget you’re in the middle of heartland America. You’ll read words likes of ‘Pomme Frittes, Café Bonbon’, and Brioche Pian Perdu, but don’t be afraid. The Aviary is not trying to be better than you by putting on-airs. They are for everyone. Sure, they tout a French feel, but dishes are comforting, savory, and easy to pronounce. The Heartland Meatloaf could qualify for a Thanksgiving dinner and the open-faced Shaved Ribeye Tartine should be a staple for every cold, gray, rainy day. But where The Aviary excels are the crepes. I have yet to find another place that serves crepes with the selection The Aviary offers. Reserving one complaint for the crepes because they can be an absolute hit… or miss. Either absolutely delectable, or chewy. If you do happen to have a good one, be prepared to take a moment after the first bite to ponder about life and how dang wonderful it truly is, like that Louie Armstrong guy keeps saying. You will pay more than usual Springfield fare for lunch. I drop around $ 25 for an entrée, chai tea latte, and tip. You’re paying for the selection of food not offered commonly in town, the French tea-shop atmosphere, and the usually very good service. And if that’s not enough, just consider this — this was a favorite spot for college students when I went to school. So yes, The Aviary was attracting customers who usually spend their riches at Taco Bell at 3 a.m. or Waffle House the next day. Worth the pennies, it seems.

One of our go-to spots in Springfield. The crepes, soups, salads, entrees, and sandwiches are all delectable. However, the pommes frites are the most irresistible thing on the menu. One of the best things I have ever eaten. If you’re looking for a place to have a comfortable lunch or dinner, check it out!

There are some restaurants/foods that you remember for a really long time, and the Aviary is one of those. I’d almost consider driving back to Springfield to eat there again. We split the bacon jam and each had the black and bleu crepes. Everything was amazing. Go now.

Love their Green Goddess salad. So delicious but so damn expensive. The crepes are negligible and rubbery. The sandwiches are awesome. Be prepare to drop around $ 20 for lunch without drinks.

It was okay. The dinner stuffed in a crêpe, need some more options. I would not go out of my way to go to this place, but it was not horrible

Delicious food, beautiful presentation. I had the Nutella/banana/strawberry crêpe and we shared a large pomme frites with garlic aioli. The coffee was good as well. Only issue, the service was slow. We were the first ones there and it took 40+ mins. We could see our food just sitting there, perhaps the potatoes were the problem. Server was attentive with refills though!

When I imagine my happy place, I picture the Aviary Café. It’s charming and sunny and the food is amazing! Generally I don’t even like crepes, but at Aviary I can’t get enough. I’ve tried a couple of the breakfast crepes, a couple of the dessert crepes, even the chocolate crepes, and they are all delicious. Also outstanding: the maison salad with fresh greens, sliced apples, lots of chevre crumbles, and their divine apple rosemary balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Not a big place, so if you want to go during a busy time, try to call ahead.

There’s a reason some places get 99% 5 stars… their food is like crack-cocaine! We will be back a few more times to SPR and will definitely be hitting this place up. One note though, our server made us after brunch beverages and had NO idea how to make a ‘traditional macchiato’. We overheard her asking another server how to do it, then when delivered it was just 12 ounces of hot milk. Won’t hold it against them, but they should just be honest.

I love this place. It has southern Missouri charm. It’s located in a old hotel in downtown Springfield, Mo. I started out with a Strawberry Basil Sangria. It was made with St. Germaine and white grape juice. I loved the sangria but my husband hated it. We also ordered a Peach Bellini. I didn’t like the Bellini but my husband liked it. We ordered the cheese board and chicken salad crossaint for lunch. We also had the Banana Foster crêpe for desert. All the food was very good.(Happy hour is from 3 to 6 on Saturday!)

Superb. Fabulous. Maybe even incomparable. Aviary Café is everything your inner foodie dreams of, served with casual elegance and effortless aplomb. I ordered the chicken mustardo, which came served on a bed of mashed potatoes with flavors so complex they almost made me forget about our unbalanced table, itself the only possible nit I could pick regarding what was an otherwise flawless dining experience.

Known for their impressive selection of crepes, this restaurant is on point when it comes to sweet treats. It’s a very intimate place with no more than 15 tables max. Majority of the tables are two-seaters, but the staff easily accommodated our table of 6. Our waitress was great. We were celebrating a birthday brunch and the waitress offered to take our photo amongst their beautiful restaurant décor; think whimsy, French. We were given little French books to write thoughtful notes for incoming guests and the restroom walls are strewn with quotes from previous guests. Enough about the décor, the food is also delicious. They have savory crepes, but their sweet selection is amazing! I always enjoy their Eggs Florentine with a side of Pomme Frites. Don’t skimp on calories here… get the Pomme Frites and thank me later.

The location is cute! The staff was very nice! Both of us were underwhelmed with the food. I had the pork chop that was raw in the middle and coated with a thick layer of black pepper. I understand a perfectly cooked chop is a little pink but mine was still cold in the middle, it was that raw. Mashed potatoes had a bunch of stuff in them that wasn’t explained in the menu. Probably should of had a crêpe instead.

This place never disappoints! Everything I order on the menu is fresh and delicious. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. My personal favorite is the turkey and bacon panini with their fries(pomme frites as they call them). The fries. They are so amazingly delicious, they are not just your average fries. Also, the desserts are AMAZING. I can’t even begin to tell you how good the dessert crepes are. I really enjoy the salted caramel one. Not only is the food amazing, but the décor is absolutely beautiful and makes me love the place even more! It’s super trendy, and it is filled with positive messages left by the customers. I could go on and on about this place. Amazing! But I will say this, don’t go here if you are super super hungry and you’re looking for a fast bite to eat. They are a bit slow, but for me it’s well worth the wait! Definitely check it out.

Breakfast/Brunch is my favorite meal of the day. Now pair this with good service, super cute atmosphere, and a local farm to table menu — this is where locals and out of towners should come! Sometimes, I want a lighter menu from the heavy biscuit, bacon, and gravy scene. This is where you can get it all! Why not have your cake and eat it too? Pros: –Sweet Mascarpone to share as a dessert or don’t share it and eat it yourself –Vegetarian options. As a non-vegetarian, but a relatively conscious eater — this is a great place for numerous options. I remember getting their local veggie as a side with any of the entrees –Humblebrag(eggs, croissant, ham– like why wouldn’t you love this?) Cons: –Slight wait time since it’s busy — but they can text you It’s also great if you are there during the farmer’s market and it’s not too hot to walk around.

How can you not love this place?!?(Unless you’re a beer guzzler looking for fried bar food or burgers. Nothing wrong with that! This just isn’t the place.) First, the pictures simply do not do this place justice. It is quirky, artistic, and comfortable. The entire dining room is very eclectic. Nothing seems to make sense, but it works! Fake fireplace, silly doorknobs, and umbrella’s hanging from the ceiling… Look around and there will be something that will catch your eye. Music is way cool. Loungy and hip. Service is way above par. I was immediately welcomed and was offered to choose anywhere I wanted to sit. Not one minute later I was greeted by my server with the menu and was asked for drinks. The menu makes me think I should have been born in Paris! I’m not a fan of crepes but there were still plenty of delicious offerings on the menu I could choose from: beef bourgegion, steak & frites, roasted chicken, salads, crab cakes, salmon etc. Love love love this menu! No really, the only downfall I see is that there is a gigantic up charge on the glasses of wine. It looks like a 4 ounce per pour. I don’t know. If you are going to have Geyser Peak on the menu, you shouldn’t offer it for $ 10 a glass, and a small swallow at that.(Maybe it is the large/borderline huge wine glasses that make the pour look small? In that case choose different glassware bc this is almost insulting for the price.) Alas, it is not about the wine! The food was so exceptional I would come here again and again and probably be a regular if I lived here. If you haven’t tried this gem of a restaurant while in Springfield, I don’t know why you haven’t yet! Put this on your list. If you’re entertaining guests/family from out of town or even have a dinner date this is the place!
