I don’t like going to the dentist at all. Never once was i concerned or nervous while getting my dental work done
Sue is a gem & really explains everything & any issues she comes across.
Dr. Markoff was personable & I didn’t feel rushed.
Debbie had put me on the cancellation list & called me for over 3 months trying to get me in. She’s my hero. It’s incredibly difficult to get an appointment so be patient.

Dr Markoff is an amazing dentist. I have been going to him now for about 5 years and I am so happy I made the switch. He has the nicest office staff and great hygienist. If you have any major issues they will work you in. From a simple cavity to major work, Dr Markoff will call you at home. Not from his office but he is calling you from his home. This is unheard off. I only have good things to say about this place. If you are looking for an amazing small town feeling dentist he is the one for you. Did I mention that not only do I go but my husband and our three children as young as 3 years old. He is a family dentist not just an adult dentist.

Dr. Markoff is superb! I went for my first visit with him back in 2010 after moving to Alexandria near Springfield and realizing that commuting to my DC-​based dentist wouldn’t be convenient anymore. Dr. Markoff had great reviews on Angie’s List, which is one of the reasons I choose him, so I wanted to spread the good word on Unilocal too!
I haven’t been to his office for more than a 6-​month checkup and cleaning, but the appointments are always punctual, the office staff is friendly, and the hygienists are great. I have an über fear of the sonic tool that they use sometimes to scrape the plaque off teeth. Seriously, the sound makes me cry. I’d rather get a cavity filled than have them use that thing to scrape plaque. So, I let my request be known and the hygienist always scrapes the plaque using the old-​school hand tool, even though it probably takes her a lot longer. Greatly appreciated!
My husband has had a significant amount of dental work done in the past year, including a tooth extraction and implant post (both done by Dr. Smith at Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, who was also fabulous) and then the follow up implant work at Dr. Markoff’s. My husband had also seen Dr. Markoff for a cavity filling as well as some sort of «draining» procedure that had been done on the tooth a few months before it was decided it had to be extracted. After each procedure, including the filling and the draining, Dr. Markoff CALLED MY HUSBAND in the evening to make sure he was doing okay. Like at home. After normal office hours. I have not heard of a doctor doing that since, well, ever. It wasn’t a nurse or office assistant that called, it was the dentist himself! That type of service is really appreciated.
My only complaint is that their appointment schedules fill up so far in advance that my 6-​month checkups are more like 7-​month checkups.
Never had any trouble with billing or insurance, including for my husband’s more complicated procedures.
So, if you need a dentist, go forth! Dr. Markoff is great!
