Chakeres Cinema 10

I don’t know why so many reviews give this place 4 stars. It is the worst theatre I’ve ever been to. The concession stand is a bigger rip off than usual and the chairs are sticky as well as the floors. And I don’t know if anyone else noticed but the walls are covered in «something»… I don’t think they have cleaned the theatre since it opened. My advice would be to save your money and get a redbox movie.

If you want to avoid the crowds, the sticky floors, the annoying people who talk all the way through the movie, and all the rest of the reasons you don’t go out to movies much any more (except for the still tooooo high prices, IMO!!) do what we just did and go to see the latest «must-​see» blockbuster on a Monday night…
The Mr. has been quietly lamenting not yet getting out to see the latest zillion $$$ installment of Star Warzzzzzzzzz (so sue me, the force is NOT really with me!!) but neither one of us was willing to fight the HOARDS of crazed super fans during the first few weekends at the «deluxe/​3D/​Imax» theaters nearby. Our little «hole in the wall» local movie joint was the perfect spot to see it (I know he’ll want to go back and see it again another dozen or so times «the RIGHT way…») but this was good for us (old farts/​hermits!!) at the moment.
Far from «perfect,» but I think they’ve even done some work here, because last time we saw something at this location, I remember it had a really moldy/​old smell to it, and this time, our practically PRIVATE theater (!!) smelled like fresh paint! Convenient weekday 7pm showing, tons of parking, semi-​comfy seats (miss those fancy pants recliners!!) what more can you ask for? Snacks that don’t require a second mortgage??? Naaaaah, not so much! ;-)

The smaller theaters are like a shoe box, yes noticed the sticky floors too. Way back in the early 80’s I worked in a movie theater, sticky floors are simply the result of patrons that can’t control their drinks. I enjoy the smaller venue, but I do miss the big screens of my youth. The staff is young, but they try hard and I always enjoy visiting this theater.

A no frills movie theater in a nutshell. I’ve been coming here all my life and it’s an ok movie theater. Usually quick to get in and get your snacks. Service is generally very friendly. My gripes though are the floors are sticky in basically every theater and they will probably never going to branch out into more high tech experiences like 3D.

This Chakeres is bigger than the Chakeres 5. The chairs and the floor plan make the viewing experience more comfortable than the Chakeres 5.
They have more movies than Chakeres 5 and they have larger screens. I prefer to go to this theater than Chakeres 5.
