Yummy! We shared one of the seafood platters and cup of gumbo and I can honestly say I’ve never had better gumbo. Thick, rich dark brown roux as the base of this spectacularly flavorful gumbo with just a touch of rice and the fish, oysters, shrimp, and crabs were plentiful and beautifully prepared. All-​in-​all, a great meal for $ 26.

This is a weekly stop for my family. The food can not be beat. Middendorfs can’t even compete with this place. I will start with the staff. Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Marla are the kindest restaurant owners I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The waitress are very busy but never forget you. CeCe is the best waitress. Her mom, Ms. Diane, is a great barista and waitress. Now for the food. OMG. I have been going here since 2008. Steak night on Thursdays can’t be beat. Ur supposed to get a 10 ounce, they are way bigger! The twice baked potatoes are mouth watering. The stuffed mushrooms appetizers are a must. They are huge. They have a portobello mushroom wrapt in a carb ball then deep fried and covered with crab augratin. We eat two and bring two home. The Charlie platter will blow your mind. It feeds myself and my husband for about 6 meals! I get the boiled shrimp salad quite often. The shrimp are huge and perfectly seasoned. This salad feeds me twice. The seafood pasta is sinfully delicious. My husband and I can eat about 4 meals off of this one dish. Seriously, you can’t order anything bad at Charlie’s. Go to Charlies! You will NOT be disappointed.

Ordered the 16 oz Ribeye with grilled vegetables. Had hush puppies and boiled shrimp for an appetizer. The food was delicious. Portions were very generous. Staff was courteous. Can’t ask for anything more.

My girlfriend and I had our first experience here Sunday. How we have never heard of it is beyond me as I love to eat! We showed up before 11 because we were told by the friends that brought us it gets busy and they were right. Service was excellent and server (I never caught her name) was very attentive. She makes a killer Bloody Mary. Appetizer I ordered Crawfish Balls w/​crawfish sauce. AWESOME. 16 oz ribeye. Giant and delicious! Cajun pasta was also huge portion and delicious as well. We took enough food home to eat another 3 meals!!! We will be back!

First let me say that I have been to EVERY STATE in the U.S.A., also Mexico, Canada, and the Bahamas
I have eat in a LOT of different places and I have eat a LOT of different foods., now for the facts that
MATTER MOST…, I have NEVER eat a
BETTER RIB EYE STEAK than I have at «CHARLIE’S»
and I would say that you will not be disappointed either., I will guarantee that you would not have any complaints and that you would «„LOVE THE FOOD“»,
you might have a short wait time for a table and seating (as most of the time we all do at charlie’s)
BUT IT IS WORTH EVERY SECOND !!!,
I have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED in the past 8 or 9 years that I have known about CHARLIE’S and also have been a customer.

We are repeat coustomers. EVERYTHING we have gotten here has been excellent! Among our very favorites would be their crab cakes and the stuffed mushroom. Both are topped with the best crab au gratin sauce you would ever want to eat. They also have a seafood appetizer with ho aide tortilla chips from time to time that is excellent. The seafood platters are excellent and steaks are so large that I’ve seen people order them butterflied! We have never been able t order the steak (due to our love of seafood) however a friend of ours said he could have cut it with a plastic knife and fork if he had to. You won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I have been to Charlie’s three times now. Twice for ‘steak night,’ once with old friends.
The steak special is incredible. Their seafood platters are more food than you could ever eat, and they are delicious.
Great prices, friendly staff. Way hidden in this little town. ALWAYS PACKED.
What a find!

I had the #1 Seafood (fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters). My wife had the 10oz Ribeye. The steak was cooked very good (when a steak is cooked good enough, who needs sauce?). She also had vegetables, bread and starter salad with hers. My platter was 4 NICE sized fish fillets, 4 LARGE oysters and 6 good sized shrimp, hush puppies to die for (has the green onion mix, awesome), fries, bread and a starter salad. Neither one of us could all of our meals so we took plenty home for another meal. I decided to try the bread pudding with rum sauce. Extra Large piece of bread. Awesome taste; has some nuts. The sauce is different, but in a very good way. All in all awesome trip.

Great food, great service, good prices for what you get. What more can I say.

Some of the best catfish, steaks, and shrimp I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the drive from Brookhaven, Ms. It’s a bit run down on the outside especially compared to the restaurant next to it but it’s one of those hole in the wall type gems.

If you have a gps. Put this address in it. Work the drive from anywhere. This is the best steak I have had in years. Make the drive, it’s work it.

We were in New Orleans on vacation & came to visit a friend in Springfield. My husbands friend had a dart tournament to do so he referred us to Charlies. He warned us of the large portions… Boy was he right! The food was good & hit the spot. The service was also good & friendly. We will come back again when we’re in town again.

Okay, this is the octogenarian hot spot. Those guys have been around for a while and they know good seafood! I’ve been going with my grandma for 10 years now. It’s perfect. Great prices, fantastic service, and scrumptious Louisiana seafood for the whole family. This place is always super busy but definitely worth the wait. It’s loud in there but the atmosphere is so laid back and friendly that you forget you’re at a restaurant and you begin to feel like you’re having a big dinner with friends and family. Seriously, if you love seafood go here!!! If loud environments bother you, you can always call ahead an order to-​go. There’s also a bar if you want some drinks and apps. The shrimp and corn soup is great! The stuffed mushrooms are my favourite! The catfish is perfect! What more could you ask for? Yum yum yum.
