Start off the bathrooms are filthy. Food is at a bad temp and not fresh. The food I wouldn’t feed to my dog. Drinking cups are stacked wet and is a health violation. Never again.

Grim… A sad, sort of «abandoned» place. No, it’s still in operation, but you get the impression that it’s sad, tired, and would just rather be left alone, sort of like(sorry, I’m not going to win too many«local» fans here) Springfield itself… It’s right near my work, so we go every once in a while for a buffet lunch, and while the people running the place are nice enough, the selection is slightly lower quality than other(already not that great, IMO) Asian buffets. Standard fried stuff, a couple of beef and/or chicken veggie dishes, a smattering of «seafood,» and some«all American» choices. One bonus, I guess is that you can(re)fill your own drinks, and not have to wait for someone to notice that you’re on E. Some fresh fruit and baked goods for dessert, along soft-serve ice cream. It’ll do if you’re HUNGRY and don’t really want to do fast food, which other a smattering of other(so-so) choices on this side of town, is pretty much all you’ll find… Sorry, I think this review was(almost) as grim as the restaurant! :-/

This is a working class Chinese buffet. $ 10.50 for dinner, although $ 7.99 would have been more appropriate for the quality you get. Typical older throw back to the early 90’s kind of place. You pay first, sit down among the locals, stuff your face and then you waddle out. There’s nothing of particular note here. The Crab Rangoon had a great crispy shell with lot’s of cream cheese but I’ll be damned if I detected any crab. They did have crab legs but the pan was perpetually empty as they only put out a few pieces at a time. Other than that, the Lo Mein, Breaded Shrimp and Seafood Bake were OK. The Hot and Sour soup should have been named, Bland and Flavorless soup. Really not so good. No one came by to pick up the dirty dishes just like the last buffet I reviewed. I’m starting to think I need to shower more than once a week. In total: Eh.

The outside of this establishment is a bit run down looking. I entered with a bit of trepridation. When you arrive, you pay for your meal before you are seated. The price includes beverages. When I was there they had an anniversary special– $ 4.99 for lunch which is normally about 6.50, I believe dinner runs under $ 10. the food was fresh, hot, flavorful. Was it a 5 star restaurant experience? Well no, there were a few dishes on the salad bar that looked a bit unappealing, my fortune cookie was a bit gummy. But again, it cost under $ 5 for luch including drink. I don’t exspect a gourmet dinning experience for $ 5. I left having enjoyed my meal, and feeling quite satisfied with a tasty meal in a clean but no frills atmosphere. I will return.

For $ 6, which includes a drink and ice cream, it’s worth it. Crab Rangoon was very good, the chicken lo mein was not. I think I would only go back if I were really desperate for something to eat, and all the rest of the Chinese restaurants were burnt down…
