The burgers are great, and large. The bacon is fantastic, like none, I’ve ever tasted. Didn’t try the fries, but the tots were crispy and light. First time, but definitely going back

Found this place on our way back to Portland from camping in the Redwoods. Needed lunch and turned to Unilocal.I got their Mac & Cheese but asked for their brown sugar bacon to be mixed in. It was super good! Boyfriend got the Bacon Cheeseburger On Crack. He was pleased. I kept stealing the Parmesan Garlic Tater tots, because duh. A nice surprise while on the road.

The food was soo spicy, especially since it was not listed as such. Plus, the noise from the kitchen was unbearable. It sounded like the guys in the kitchen were having a contest to see who could toss the most dishes around without breaking them, The service was not that great, one waitress and not much help in kitchen. The people next to us didn’t even receive their food at the same time. We will not be going there again

What they do well: customer service. They did really well describing and recommending what was on their menu. Heavily promoting their bacon which goes through an extensive curing process. Areas of improvement: flavor. They have several options for fry seasonings and sauces. I tried their truffle fries with house fry sauce and both were disappointing. The flavor was was off on both. Next time I would choose just regular salted fries and table ketchup. The burger was good but not outstanding. It is one of those places where I’d go again to give it another shot, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Well, before I share my honest experience, the server was a delightful person and was hospitable. I ordered a club sandwich to go. The server said it was a hot sandwich, not cold and even substituted the tots for soup. Si, I get back to work, literally a few blocks away, with my food; i open it and inside is a like a marinara sandwich with slices of ice cold chicken and fatty bacon and cold, once melted cheddar. In addition, was metal restaurant utensils inside the box. This looked like a a practical joke! Now, I don’t know if toys is Chow’s Club Sandwich, if so, they need to do some taste testing, because marinara, chicken and caramelized bacon with cheddar taste like doodie together. Save us all from this atrocious combination. I’m in no way exaggerating the condition or contents of the food, btw. This beer cheese soup should be called«Cold Cream of Pepper soup». And the sandwich, «Reconstructed Leftovers Sandwich on Potato Bread» for that’s EXACTLY what it tasted like. Did I mention they put their metal restaurant utentils with my to go order? And that everything was cold? The owner and the manager need to reevaluate. I have been here 4 times. 3 out of 4, something really strange happened with the food and/or communication with the kitchen vs servers. Previously, one time in for lunch, I and my friend ordered a large basket of fries and the server came with a little cup size. We politely asked, «is this the typical amount?» He actually said no! And then proceeded to say that the cook was in a bad mood… and that’s all he said! So, if you’re kitchen staff are having a bad day, it’s okay to change the sizes? And it’s ok to put that on customers? And as a server, it’s ok to make excuses for the cook’s bad attitude without any effort to keep the standard? I mean, c’mon! This would be the best restaurant for Chef Gordon Ramsey to visit. Man, do they need it. Moral of the story, check the damn to go bag before you even swipe that card! And save your time, save your $ 15, don’t bother with this place. Ciao, Chow.

I’d give less stars if I could. It’s meh! Wings are gross. Soggy tots and over cooked Monte cristo. First time grub hub has failed me. I would recommend a happy meal before this place. Get your wings at Toxic and avoid this place like the plague.

It’s busy! Because the food is excellent. I had the mushroom burger with Parmesan and garlic fries. Yes garlic! Very tastefully done and not overpowering. First time we have eaten here. Tried it on a whim and don’t regret it at all. Highly recommended.

Huge portions. So rich! And not too expensive. Cheyenne was one of my favorite servers of all time… She gave us all the info once she found out we were first-timers, and was very personable. Even though the food was good, I’d return just to receive such genuine service again! Their bacon is amazing, I recommend adding it to everything and the Mac and cheese was also a standout.

Four stars for the friendly service, two stars for the food. We have been twice. First time we got takeout. My husband liked his order, but I had the triple decker grilled cheese. It would have been good, but they drowned the bread in powdered Parmesan which overpowered it and made it unenjoyable. The tots were odd tasting, like they had been fried with something else. Fries were pretty decent. Second time we went we ate in. It was pretty busy. We got the fried mac n cheese which was overly breaded and had too much powdered parmesan on it. I got the the onion burger which tasted bland and heavy with little flavor. I didn’t eat it. My husband pulled pork burger which he said was okay. I wish their food was better because the servers are really nice. It just seems like they haven’t gotten their flavor combinations down and they really need to ease up on the powdered parmesan.

This place blew me away. I’m disappointed in only one thing and that’s that we didn’t come sooner. The burgers are out of this world. I wanted to hug the chef. The Mac and Cheese, the bacon… oh my goodness… THEBACON! I’m going back tonight. Make sure you have lots of room in your stomach. You will be disappointed that you decided to eat anything before hand… even breakfast!

We were recommended that they were known for their burger and bacon and we were not disappointed. Also the truffle fries are to die for and I’m not even exaggerating!!! Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely come back here again!

By far not what I was expecting when it comes to their food. The inside was nice and roomy. The environment was great and the service was good. However the food was pretty pricy for a burger and fries and it didn’t taste like a garlic onion burger at all. The onion rings had batter on them and I got a clump of the dry powdery batter in my mouth. It was gross. The Flavors of the burger didn’t go well together and I didn’t taste the garlic anywhere. I couldn’t really get any flavor from the burger because there was to much going on with all the other Flavors that didn’t go well together. Nice people and fun little environment, however I won’t be going back because of the food and the price they charge for what you get.

Was scurried over to the Tavern side because it was close(2:05pm) to 3pm and Chow closes from 3 – 5:30… So if you’re under 21 or have children expect to be turned away. Service was subpar. The waiter was eating food off of customers plates and couldn’t listen long enough to bring the right drinks. Zucchini fries were cooked well, but covered in greasy breading that falls off before you take a bite. Meat was cooked wonderfully, but was not ground fresh daily like they claim. Slathered in BBQ sauce hiding the meat. Bacon was all fat, and marinated in gross sauce for way to long making it soggy. Special seasoning of garlic parm fries were nothing more than old shaking parm and garlic salt. Ew. So if you’re looking to spending 11 – 17 a burger and be disappointed then it’s prefect.

My boyfriend and I stopped in on Sunday after being out of the country for a couple of weeks… We were craving a good ol’ burger sooo bad, and after eating one here, we were so happy we came to Chow. We found it on Unilocal as we do not live in Eugene. It was easy to get to from the freeway. The burgers were unique and amazing. We kept looking at the menu after we ordered because it was so interesting… Literally everything made our mouths water. The Bloody Mary was unique and delicious. I had the bacon cheeseburger on crack, and it was amazing! Also the Mac and cheese alone would be worth going back for. Can’t remember what burger the boyfriend got but he LOVED it. Good food alone doesn’t sell it for me. Service is huge, as I am a waitress, I can be critical of how others do… Our waitress was outstanding. Very nice, attentive, and on top of her game. We live a few hours away but when we come back through the area we will definitely be stopping here again. Yumm!!!

Enjoyed a late lunch here today and I was impressed. The menu mostly consisted of burgers, sandwiches, and salad. I had the Mac and cheese and was happy with my selection The pasta was perfect and loaded with cheese but didn’t taste greasy. The garlic bread really enhanced the meal. My server was fantastic. The menu was limited, but sometimes that’s for the best. The look of the place was just so-so. I’ll be back to try a burger soon.

Prepare yourself for an awesome burger. I got the«big mamma.» A layered adventure of COKEBOILEDHAM and BROWNSUGARCARAMELIZED bacon topped with a gooey Yolkey over easy egg. Ohmgah! It’s like a Korean barbeque on a burger. The shoestring fries are perfection. Crunch and salt– really addictive. Highly recommend this awesome tasty join! Love the art too!

I’ve found Chow a mixed bag lately. I do love the food, the bacon cheeseburger on crack is awesome, as are the hellfries, loaded fries, and their chicken wings are top notch too. However the last two times I’ve been there the service has not been good. I’m very forgiving of mediocre service, but this was past mediocre and straight into terrible. Drinks ordered but never received, appetizers delivered after the main meal was finished, silverware never provided even after asking, wrong orders delivered, long periods of being ignored while waiting to order, etc. I want to love chow, but two bad services in a row makes it hard. I hope they get it straightened out because the food is top notch and I have no complaints there. But if I’m going to go out and spend my money, I expect to at least have a basic level of service and get what I ordered without having to beg for it.

My coworker’s and I just ordered here for lunch after it being recommended by a bunch of other people we work with. I ordered The Melt(adding avocado) with garlic parm fries. The fries… are SO good!!! They have the perfect amount of garlic and parmesan. My grilled cheese was also good but the bacon… I didn’t like at all. It’s really sweet. I don’t want my bacon sweet, especially in a savory sandwich. I’ll definitely try this place again though, they had a lot of good looking stuff on the menu!

Springfield doesn’t get much love as a destination hot spot. It used to be the only things you could find there were sawmills and strip clubs. This place has some rave reviews, however, so in our never-ending quest for foodie satiety, DLW and I scoped out Chow for a Friday night date. It’s attached to Moe’s Tavern(no Homer or Barney in sight) in a routine strip mall right on the main drag. Inside it’s nothing fancy either, about 40 seats which were mostly filled when we arrived. The waitress was training a new server, who trailed her around and helped with running food. Both were unfailingly courteous, and the waitress knew the menu thoroughly, a pleasant surprise considering the spacey service we so often see in restaurants around here. Their specialty is bacon, which they include on many dishes, including DLW’s piggy salad. It was absolutely loaded with candied bacon, and included a zingy dressing plus extra dressing on the side. Definitely not diet food, but delicious. I had a burger special, which came with arugula and fig jam. Burgers are good generally, but this one was special, one of the best I’ve had. Zucchini fries were batter-dipped and served crisp and hot with a dipping sauce just like the salad dressing. Beer selection is not enormous but interesting and with good variety. DLW absolutely loved the blackberry cider they had on tap. Everything was good quality, and the prices are in line with that, so don’t go expecting a cheap night out. Do go expecting an enjoyable meal. It’s the best burger experience I’ve had in Eugene/Springfield.
