The nicest people in the world always seem to work at blood donation centers! Not sure why Red Cross is not the go-to blood donation site in the Dayton/Springfield region, but these people are great, friendly, informative, and definitely know their stuff! PLUS, they’ve got yummy fig newton cookies(along with other choices, but fig newtons are one of my faves!!) for when you’re done. That, and you just about always get a free tee shirt or some other«thank you» gift; I’d be practically tee shirtless without my CBC rewards from the several years I’ve been donating here! Who hasn’t had personal or family health scares here and there over the years? I think it’s such a small, relatively painless thing to donate a pint of blood, and you KNOW your donation is helping somebody, locally, in just a manner of days… You never know where your $$$ are going when/if you’re able to donate to big name charities, and not everyone has the time to volunteer, but for an hour or less every couple of months(evening appts. available!!), you can come into a place like this, donate a pint, eat a few cookies, and feel like a million bucks!
