Good service. But out of pepperoni and sausage pizza. Asked for Cardinal game, they put it on but terrible picture, not in HD, however they have nice flat screen tv’s. Don’t have DTV, so going to have to find a new spot for NFL games on Sunday.

Great place to shoot pool. The tables are good and there are plenty of cues if you don’t have your own. Tournament nights take up most of the tables so if you get one — good job. The crowd is a wide mix. From active biker gangs to business owners. I won’t drink in there because of the crowd and the very secluded parking lot. Be aware of your surroundings. I can say the management will handle potential problems before they start. They will cut off out of control drinkers and have no problem putting potential trouble out the door. The wait staff is very young. Very young. They sometimes don’t have the maturity to cut people off before bad drunken behavior presents itself. The building needs some work and plumbing updates. It’s a dive bar with good pool tables so don’t expect Martinis, right?

This has always been my favorite after work hang out. It is a go to for night shift hospital workers in Springfield. Dennis’ is great because it opens at 7AM, making it the only bar in Springfield for night shifters to go have a couple of drinks and some bar food after work. The atmosphere is no different than any other dive bar in the area. Now that there is a no smoking law in town, you can leave here without smelling like a dirty ashtray which is nice. The service is always wonderful and as fast or slow as you want it to be. My favorite drink that they offer is the white russian, it is the perfect breakfast drink for that early in the morning. They also make a mean tequila sunrise. The food that they offer is mostly bar food like, mozzarella sticks, french fries, etc.

This is a good place. It has a «Cheers» atmosphere and is quite large, offering plenty of areas to mingle with different types of crowds. I already gave it 5 stars, so lets talk about some of the stuff that’ll let you down: Tap beer selection: Seriously. There’s less than what you can count on one hand here. You’d think with such a large bar, there would be a large selection of draught beer. NOOOOO! Prices: There’s almost zero incentive to buy anything here unless you’re a woman on ladies’ night or willing to drink impromptu rail shot specials. Its about $ 3 for a bottle of the cheap stuff beer, just to put things into perspective for you. Help: There appears to be a lead bartender, a supplementary bartender(2 at most), and about 3 waitresses for this whole place. Their tab system is primitive and they often get orders mixed up, forgotten, or flat out wrong. The speed of service is slow and I often see more staff standing around rather than working. It appears only the bartenders may fetch alcohol of any kind including beer bottles. Aside from the waitresses, this system makes the bartenders appear forgetful and they often play favorites. Oh well. Buy a pitcher from the poor selection and leave a shitty tip. Eventually they’ll get it. Disregarding those areas, this is pretty awesome bar. It feels right and it definitely has a good crowd. Fix these main areas and there is no reason why this bar wouldn’t be featured on something like a «Top Ten Places in Missouri to Drink.»

Good place to go for a game of darts or pool. Last time i went they didnt have darts, but they made up for it by having karaōke performances and not charging my group full cover because we only hung out on the other side of the bar to play pool. $ 8 bud pitchers, not bad.

Being the karaōke junkie I am, Dennis’ Place was the first karaōke providin’ joint I found that has a top-notch system in Springfield and I have been hooked since. I did some KJ’ing while in Alaska and I worked my ass off memorizing the location of songs on all our CDs and LDs! The KJs here have an elaborate computer system that has all the music a click or two away… and get this, they have a staggering 90,000 song library. Trust me, if you want to sing it, they have it. That is amazing. So needless to say, I have been there many many nights playin’ singin’ & playin’ pool. Each Wednesday and Saturday night you can pay $ 5 to enter a contest that usually starts around 11pm… regular karaōke starts around 9pm… and the winner gets to compete in a contest they hold every month or two with a $ 1K first prize. I qualified for the contest in March and unfortunately only got 5th out of 15 I think. Next time I will be like the chick who won and get up on the tables and shake my booty. I’m not bitter, honest. I like to play billiards and I will say Dennis’ is packed with tables and they have ongoing league play. My gripe is paying .75 cents a game unless you are winning of course. I can play for .50 cents at Galloway’s and for free fairly often at Fox and Hound, such as tonight after 9pm(that is an upcoming review). FnH must be the best billiards joint in town, very classy, regulation size tables with good lighting and nice clean equipment. Though I must say, being flashed by a chick at Dennis’ after talking smack and beating her was a pleasant surprise. I don’t see myself getting boobies in my face and FnH. Technically I am still an active duty captain in the Air Force and Dennis’ supports the military and allows card carrying military to enter without cover. Otherwise, plan to pay $ 2-$ 5 to get in the door. Not sure of the exact cost. I give Dennis’ a 3 out of 5 on the eye candy scale. Most nights nothing too special, but there was one night I couldn’t take my eyes off a couple women that were gorgeous… but tried to not stare too much cuz I didn’t feel like gettin’ jacked in the parking lot by their men. One other thing I like to do is play Texas Hold’em, Dennis’ hosts games on Saturdays and Mondays I think. I have not tried that yet but will. Tonight I will scope out FnH who has Texas Hold’em beginning at 7pm. Anywho, the servers have been wonderful(Lacy 2b specific), the KJs keep the songs rolling getting many singers cycled through and they do a good job keeping the crowd entertained with good natured banter. Best of all even after getting a little mouthy on the mic and at the pool tables I have managed to avoid getting in fight so far… so doin’ good! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Apparently, I can’t do a brand new review for Dennis’, I can only edit. I have been there a couple more Sunday nights since the above review. Last Sunday, hilarious, there was a couple I saw at Fox N Hound earlier in the night after playin poker there sitting at the table next to me at Dennis’. She was very proud of her obvious boob job and was wearing a «hardly holdem them in» white halter top. She was drunker than a skunk with her kind of goofy lookin boyfriend, leaning over their table talkin to him, and when she stood upright her right fakie popped out. Not sure she even noticed, but her boy got up and tucked it back under cover and they left not soon after. She must’ve been too much to handle for him. I must say she had a nice rack, but in the looks department she was lacking. Now I can say I saw boobies two times at Dennis’. That same night the«dancers» of I guess a local strip club called Centerfolds was there celebrating something. But I must say, except for a couple of them, it was more like Center Trolls. What can you expect from a Bible belt strip joint? Well, Sunday nights are Rock Band Karoake nights, so it alternates between a regular pack of clubbers playing Rock Band on the X-Box and karaōke singers. To get maximum fun on this night you best be a part of the Rock Band group cuz as an individual karaōke singer they don’t have time 4u. I managed to get a couple songs in the first Sunday but I showed up tonight at 9pm right when they started and sang a song quick(Never There by Cake) and that was it. The same crowd doing Rock Band was up there constantly and also getting to do individual karoake songs. I’m not complaining, I was impressed with some of their skills playing these songs on hard and expert level and sounding good… in particular a chick sang a song called The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars and sounded awesome and her friends on guitars and drums did good too. They did the same songs tonight also but still sounded good. If she actually cut loose and worked the stage a bit instead of sipping her drink and staring at the monitor it would be totally kick ace.

This place is a pretty cool dive here in town. It’s dark and smoky with plenty of pool tables and regulars that love the place. they also have a jam night once a week that’s a lot of fun to go watch. I’ve only been there a dozen times but everyone seemed really fun and cool.
