Made my last trip to this store! Dropped about $ 500 for hiking boots and then decided to return a pair of boots because there was another brand/style I preferred but Dynamic Earth didn’t have them in stock. As I was given no other options from the DE staff I went to another store, found the boots and bought the ones I wanted. The problem came with the return of the one pair, Mr Lyons assisted with the return but decided to educate us on buying local and questions we should have asked, etc. The thing is we did ask, we were given no options and lecturing your customer in a demeaning manner is a bad idea. Having that conversation with your staff and suggesting a better way to approach the first sale attempt would have been more beneficial than pressing a customer that still left over $ 200 in your hands. I won’t step foot back in this store, too many other places to buy the same items! Your attitude and actions lost me as a customer and anyone who asks me for a referral. That happens a lot more than you might guess.

I gotta say Dynamic Earth blows my mind with their customer service. Their staff goes above and beyond to take care of their customers. Truly great shopping experience! #Shoplocal

This is the most amazing store for the outdoor enthusiast. Their physical location is amazing with all the gear you desire… not as big a selection as an REI, but it’s small and locally owned. Reason for 4 stars… website fail I found out more information using Unilocal!than their website I Google’d Springfield canoes and surprisingly Ozark Adventures was number one.(And their website is worthless save for address and phone number.) I then Google’d Springfield MO kayaks and OA was 2d and DA way down at 7. When I clicked on your vendors link Error: 404 — Article not found popped up. Dang DA, let’s get with the program.

I can’t even begin to state what a great store this place is. I’m a pretty die hard REI fan but considering that there is not one around and as fun and cool as Bass Pro Shops are they just do not cut it when you need some things. If you are needing anything for the outdoors this is the only stop you should make period. Thank you for the best customer service I have ever had at an outdoor store period, and that is saying something because I have been to some good ones. You’re now loyal customer. Brian

After Matt Lyon’s respectful and useful comment, I’ll admit that I’m more impressed than I had been before. It’s nice to see people who care for the companies they work for and go out of their way to show you the good they have to offer while still being realistic about who they are and what they sell. Thank you very much! Just for that, I’m bumping my rating up a star. If I could, I’d give it an extra half, but alas we Unilocalers can’t do that yet. :]

Can’t say I am a fan. Initially I was impressed when I walked into the door. Cool stuff, a lot of young and fit staff who seemed attentive(almost). Before the Christmas I spent over $ 500 on winter camping gears and outfit for a Feb. camping trip to the Grand Canyon. There was one item they didn’t have in stock, but they promised it will be in soon after the holiday! Then, they charged it(big mistake). They never called me. I kept calling and after several phone calls and realized the store was not going to deliver the item in time for my trip, I drove down to ask for refund. There was no explanation nor sincere apology for the inconvenience and poor service. Gosh, did you really need my cash? Wasn’t my $ 500 enough? Later when my husband needed a windbreaker, we took our business across the street.

Love this store. As a fan of REI(SGF doesn’t have one & likely won’t for a long time), I was excited when Dynamic Earth came to town. Great place that carries the best brands for outdoor activity. The staff is crazy knowledgable. It’s clear they’re true fans of the products they sell. My wife loves the Smartwool socks and the Kuhl pants are my favorite. As with any quality products, the prices aren’t «cheap.» However, if you think of paying per day of wear, you’re getting a great deal… quality stuff that will last & with over the top customer service. I’ve had one minor issue with a product(not their fault) and it was taken care of above & beyond expectations. They have shoes, clothing, gear, & other camping/hiking/kayaking/traveling related items. Also.the store is green & helps take care of our planet with their practices. I love the fact that they’re next door to Mama Jean’s, a great food/etc. store.

Great outdoor shop to find what you’re looking for. Shop is in a green shopping center with a rooftop garden. My children love to go up there. Also, the parking lot is pervious concrete. Right next door to Momma Jeans, which is an added bonus. Not real organized with orders. Didn’t call after weeks of waiting. When I finally got my order, it had been sitting in a back room. Then sent me home with another person’s order also. I needed to make another trip to return the additional items. However, they are friendly and have loads of outdoor gear.

This is my favorite place to shop in Springfield! I don’t hike, kayak, climb rocks, or bike but I do teach and take yoga classes and I like to buy clothing and accessories that are quality made and unique. They have that in spades at Dynamic Earth. The brands I buy there are Smartwool(the best socks ever!), Prana, Kavu, and Lululemon. Sure they are pricy but they hold up, wick away moisture, and breathe like most fabrics couldn’t imagine. The staff is always knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Every trip I make to Springfield includes a stop at Dynamic Earth!

I’ve only been in this store a couple times but they are always really nice and helpful. From what I could tell they have a pretty extensive inventory of pretty much anything outdoors. If I can ever talk my elbow in tho climbing again, this is where I’d go.

Are you an outdoor junkie? Do you like to climb rocks, kayak, hike, camp, or do anything else that involves the outdoors? This is the place for you then. Dynamic Earth has everything outdoors and everything that you could possibly need to be a survivalist. I first heard about these guys at a Energy Conference when they presented plans to build a new building. What they say will be a GREEN building. It will be entirely environmental friendly. I made my first purchase when I went to go by an ENO hammock and was steered toward another brand that is much better for my needs. I was extremely happy with the competence of the employees. There suggestion ended up saving me money as well as meeting my needs so much better. I have since been back to buy a few more outdoor goods. I would suggest them to any of my friends for all of there outdoor needs. In fact my roommate has purchased a kayak and a hammock like mine. They are just a great place to go and find anything with a competent and friendly staff to go along. If you weren’t into the outdoors before you walk in, you will be once you leave.

I can afford their socks. Almost. I love this store. The people are nice, they all look like they eat trees and spend every spare moment kayaking and climbing incredibly scary rock faces. But they’re NICE! The reason I went in this store is that they carry Simple brand shoes, which I LOVE because they fit me. All the clothing is wonderful and has prices that will physically drive the air from your body. But I’m sure if you bought it, you would wear it every chance you get and love, love, love it. I bought two pair of Smartwool socks in my size, yes, socks in SIZES for women!!! AND, of course a pair of Simple shoes that are so green I have to pick the pesto out of my back teeth when I wear them. Oh, and they also sell kayaks(my secret desire) and rock climbing stuff, and backpacking stuff, and probably stuff that I don’t even know about. Try this store. You might find yourself out in the woods enjoying yourself.
